Diffuse pancreatic changes of the lipomatosis type -- with gradual replacement of parenchymatous tissue by fatty tissue -- are also called fatty dystrophy or non-alcoholic fatty pancreatic disease.

Lipoid nephrosis is a disease of young children (mostly 2-4 years old), more often boys. Lipoid nephrosis is a kidney disease in which morphologically there are only minimal changes. WHO experts define lipoid nephrosis as minimal changes "disease of small podocyte processes", which undergo dysplastic changes, the membrane and mesangium react secondarily.
Necrobiosis lipoidica (synonyms: lipoid diabetic necrobiosis, atrophic macular lipoid dermatitis) occurs in 4% of patients with diabetes mellitus.

Lipogranuloma of the mammary gland is a fatty necrosis, i.e. a benign formation. Let's consider the features of this pathology, symptoms, diagnostic methods, treatment and prevention methods, as well as the prognosis for recovery.

Lipidoses are storage diseases (thesaurismoses), almost always occur with damage to the central nervous system, so they are called neurolipidoses. Skin manifestations are one of the main symptoms only in diffuse angiokeratoma of Fabry (glycosphingolipidosis), in other forms they occur infrequently, possibly due to early death.

Glossopharyngeal neuralgia is a recurrent attack of severe pain in the area of innervation of the IX pair of cranial nerves (posterior pharyngeal wall, posterior 1/3 of the tongue, middle ear). Glossopharyngeal neuralgia is diagnosed clinically. Treatment of glossopharyngeal neuralgia with carbamazepine or gabapentin.

Linear migratory myiasis is found both in the tropics and in temperate countries, including Russia. Linear migratory myiasis in temperate climates is most often observed in the summer. Female gadflies lay eggs, attaching them to the hair of horses or cattle.

Ruptures of ligaments, muscles and tendons are possible. There are minimal (grade I), moderate and severe (grade II) ruptures and a complete rupture (grade III). Grade III ligament damage can cause joint instability; it is differentiated from grade II using load tests.

Leukoplakia is a leukokeratosis that appears as milky-white spots on the mucous membranes covered with stratified squamous epithelium (oral cavity, vagina, red border of the lips), and develops as a result of exposure to local irritants, as well as inflammatory phenomena.
Leukoplakia is a chronic disease of the oral mucosa and lips, which occurs as a result of an exogenous irritant and is characterized by keratinization of the mucosa. It occurs on all continents. Men get sick twice as often as women, at the age of 40-70 years.
Leukoplakia is a pathological process based on dysfunction of the stratified squamous epithelium: lack of glycogen formation and the occurrence of keratinization (hyperkeratosis).

Simple leukoplakia is a dyskeratotic disease, that is, one that is accompanied by impaired keratinization. The pathology affects multilayered flat epithelial tissue and can be found in the oral cavity, respiratory tract, genitourinary tract, and anal area.

Leukopenia or neutropenia is a syndrome in which the absolute number of circulating neutrophils in the blood is below 1.5x109/l. The extreme manifestation of neutropenia is agranulocytosis - a condition in which the number of granulocytes in the blood is below 0.5x109/l.
