Bronchitis is one of the most unpleasant diseases of the broncho-pulmonary system. After all, most pathology is accompanied by a painful compulsive cough, which does not hurry to pass. And that's not it. Frequent cough, accompanied by active contractions of the bronchial walls, can lead to their spasm. Bronchi shrink, their lumen becomes narrower, which means that air penetrates into the lungs with difficulty and in insufficient quantity. A person begins to suffocate, and this condition requires urgent and effective measures to restore breathing, which can provide some medications that get into the bronchi by inhalation. But not all drugs are as effective as "Berodual" for bronchitis and bronchial obstruction. Not for nothing because inhalation with "Berodual" in its pure form and in combination with other bronchodilators have become one of the most popular procedures for this disease.
Bronchitis and bronchodilators
About bronchitis speak in the case when the bronchi as part of the respiratory system are affected by the inflammatory process. And what is inflammation? This reddening and edema of the bronchial walls, which first causes only irritation of sensitive receptors of the mucous organ, accompanied by an obtrusive dry cough.
With dry cough during the acute phase of bronchitis, sputum does not go away, since it is produced in insufficient quantities. This kind of coughing is a real torture for the patient, taking away the last strength from a person weakened by the disease.
Further, the cough due to the mucus produced and the inflammatory exudate becomes wet. A productive cough is considered an easier symptom of bronchitis. Nevertheless, if the sputum is too thick (viscous), expectorating it becomes problematic, and cough can be accompanied by chest pain along the course of the bronchi and a strong irritation of the larynx.
It is dangerous to think that the transition of a cough from dry to wet, which brings relief to the patient, indicates the onset of recovery. Yes, the cough is not so painful, the number of its attacks decreases, but the inflammation remains. And the inflammatory process, especially if its cause becomes an infection, in the absence of effective treatment is inclined to move into a chronic form. And then the slightest hypothermia of the body or a decrease in immunity will be accompanied by exacerbation of inflammation and the appearance of a painful cough.
As a rule, a strong prolonged cough can cause bronchospasm. This is the response of the walls of the bronchi to regular irritation, which can not be controlled by the mind. The patient can not relieve the spasm of bronchial muscles with the power of thought, he needs help with antispasmodics that help with the violation of bronchial obstruction (obstruction).
It is to such drugs and refers to "Berodual", used for bronchitis with a tendency to spasmodic bronchi. What is it so good with inflammation of the bronchi? The possibility of application in the form of inhalations, which when coughing act faster and more efficiently than oral drug intake or injection treatment.
The fact is that without local application of drugs in the localization of inflammation, fighting with it is less effective. But the location of the bronchi is such that instillation and lubrication, as in the case with inflammatory processes in the nasopharynx, are practically impossible.
The only way to apply a medicine to the bronchial mucosa is to make sure that its particles with airflow penetrate inside and settle on the walls of the organ (its ciliated epithelium). This is possible only with the use of a spray, and even better through inhalations that provide a greater depth of penetration of the drug particles.
Inhalation with "Berodual" with bronchitis is the easiest and most effective way to facilitate the breathing of a patient with severe bronchitis and prevent bronchospasm in the future. But do not think that any cough can be accompanied by a spasm of the bronchi, and apply the medicine without prescribing a doctor.
Indications of the beroduala with bronchitis
Cough, as one of the symptoms, can accompany other diseases of the respiratory system: sore throat, flu, SARS, sinusitis, etc. But in this case, the cough will be less painful, and often it does not require special inhalation treatment. In most cases, you can dispense with expectorants and mucolytics in the form of tablets and syrups and such procedures as compress, rinses, inhalation with the help of sprays, drops in the nose.
It must be understood that bronchitis can have a different course. With a mild form of bronchial inflammation, cough does not cause a strong irritation of the bronchi and does not affect their functionality. The likelihood of a critical breach of breath in this case is very low and in the use of bronchodilators like "Beroduala" with light bronchitis is simply not necessary. There are many effective bronchodilators that stimulate the excretion of sputum from the bronchi without their strong relaxation. All the same, the removal of mucus from the respiratory system depends on the contractility of the bronchi.
"Berodual" is indicated for violation of patency of the lower respiratory tract, for example, with obstructive bronchitis, asthma attacks , chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, severe cases of pneumonia, tracheitis and even laryngitis. Apply the drug and with tuberculosis or emphysema to prevent airway spasms. Strictly prescribed by the doctor, this drug can be prescribed to the cores, taking into account the fact that in case of severe cardiovascular pathologies, the use of standard dosages of the drug may prove dangerous.
Apply the drug with a dry and moist cough. But with a dry cough, it does not have an expressed expectorant or mucolytic effect, so it is not meaningful to apply it without additional components only with bronchial asthma. In other cases, inhalations are carried out with saline and / or " Lazolvanom" in conjunction with the solution "Berodual."
With a moist cough, the drug facilitates the transport of sputum outside the respiratory system and prevents spasmodic impairment of bronchial patency.
Yes, Berodual treatment requires some caution, but this does not mean that it can not be used for preventive purposes. Only thus it is necessary to understand, that strong cough does not enter into indications to application of a preparation, while the reason of its or his occurrence will not be revealed. If this is an inflammation of the upper respiratory tract or a slight inflammation of the bronchi, there is no need for the appointment of Berodual. Bronchodilators, to which this medication belongs, is prescribed only if there is a danger of spastic reaction and impaired bronchial patency.

Release form
Well, since we started talking about inhalations as the most effective method of fighting with severe inflammation, it would be superfluous to mention that the most convenient form of inhalants is a solution, and the most effective device is a nebulizer. In liquid dosage forms, the active substance is placed in a liquid medium, which is a solvent for it, so that the smallest particles of the drug, practically invisible to the eye, are in the liquid.
Believe me, tablets or powder mechanically very problematic grind to such a state that their particles are not irritated and not scratched very sensitive due to inflammation of bronchial mucosa. It is recommended to use medicinal solutions in nebulizers - special stationary or portable devices that allow delivering drugs even to the deepest parts of the respiratory system (bronchioles and lung alveoli).
The drug "Berodual", which is allowed to be used only for local treatment (oral administration is unacceptable), is also available in the form of a solution, which is placed in a vial with a dropper. The volume of the bottle is 20 ml.
For those to whom such a volume seems small, it is worth saying that one inhalation is about 0.5-2 ml, depending on the age of the patient. Even if you take the maximum dose and the frequency of application for the course of treatment will go only 2 vials of solution.
The amenities of the dropper bottle could already be appreciated by many. The fact is that in the instructions to the drug the dose is indicated in drops, and to measure it accurately without a special device would be very problematic. And the drug "Berodual", used for bronchitis, does not belong to the number of drugs in which dose fluctuations are safe for health.
But a solution for inhalation called "Berodual" is not the only form of release of the drug. Another useful invention of mankind are sprays. Of course, they can not spray medicinal components as deep as a nebulizer with a solution poured into it. But in some cases greater depth is not required, for example, in bronchial asthma with a zone of damage in the upper layers of the respiratory system.
Aerosol "Berodual" in volume of only 15 ml is calculated on 200 pressing (1 pressing - 1 dose). A small but sufficient volume in this case is a plus, since it allows patients with bronchial asthma to always carry a bottle of medicine that easily fits in a pouch, a cosmetic bag and even an ordinary pocket on clothes.
Pharmacodynamics
Pharmacodynamics, or the mechanism of action of the drug, is considered with respect to its acting, and sometimes auxiliary substances. The drug Berodual, popular with obstructive bronchitis and bronchial asthma, is considered a multicomponent drug with two active substances, the effect of which is markedly cast, but in combination it gives unsurpassed spasmolytic, bronchodilator and bronchodilator effect.
Fenoterol hydrobromide - a substance that helps relax the bronchial muscles due to the effect on local adrenoreceptors. In addition, this component of the drug helps to reduce the inflammatory response and edema of respiratory tract tissues, which also increases their lumen and reduces sensitivity to irritant factors. A person gets the opportunity to breathe normally, his organs and systems do not suffer from a lack of oxygen, and the cough becomes less intense and frequent.
Ipratropium bromide - the second active substance of the solution and spray - acts like atropine, i.e. Reduces the sensitivity of acetylcholine receptors, the irritation of which causes bronchial spasms and activation of the production of bronchial secretions. If you block the action of these receptors, you can prevent the development of bronchospasm and reduce the production of mucus by bronchial and other glands.
Relaxation of bronchi with inhalation "Berodual" occurs mainly due to local effects. The drug does not enter the bloodstream, so there are no systemic effects in this case.
It should be understood that the drug somewhat reduces the production of sputum, but does not completely stop it. That is, as an antitussive drug to use the drug is meaningless, and not safe, yet he has a decent list of contraindications and side effects.
Relaxing the muscles of the bronchi "Berodual" does not have a depressing effect on the work of the ciliary epithelium of the respiratory tract, which continues to remove excess mucus from them. Expanding the lumen of the bronchi and allowing their mucous to perform their work, "Berodual" thereby facilitates easier excretion of sputum from the body, i.e. Makes cough easier, but does not stop it.
Pharmacokinetics
At once we will notice, that "Berodual" is a medical product intended only for local application. When it is sprayed onto the bronchial mucosa, it affects its receptors without penetrating the blood, so it is pointless to talk about the pharmacokinetics of the drug. It is worth mentioning that the medicine has good speed, which makes it a popular first aid for bronchospasm.
Relief of the patient is observed for the first 15 minutes. For another one or two hours, the effect of the medicine is gaining strength, after which the patient can still breathe fully for 4-5 hours without fear of repeated bronchial spasm.
Dosing and administration
Inflammation of the bronchi is a multifaceted disease, but it is peculiar to people of any age. It is clear that the use of various drugs in case of illness in adults and children may differ, not only in doses.
For example, "Berodual" for bronchitis and bronchial asthma in infants and young children can be prescribed only in the form of a solution, taking with him medical inhalations. And it is recommended to do this with the help of a nebulizer, because a small child can not be forced to breathe properly over the steam so as not to burn his face and airways.
For relief of asthma attacks associated with spasm of the muscles of the respiratory tract, in children older than 6 years you can use both a solution and a spray. The spray is equipped with a protective cap, which must be removed before use. After that, the bottle of aerosol (spray) is turned upside down and the mouthpiece is inserted into the mouth. They press a finger to the bottom of the vial 1 time so that a stream of air with particles of the medicine gets into the throat and the airways. Simultaneously with pressing the bottle, take a deep breath so that the particles of the drug settle not only on the oral mucosa, but also penetrate deeply into the bronchi. Hold your breath for 1-2 seconds, take out the mouthpiece from the mouth and breathe out the air. To get the second dose, we repeat all the manipulations first.
After the procedure, do not forget to put on a protective cap. If the aerosol is new, before using it for the first time, it is recommended to do two test pressings with spraying the medicine into the air. Thus, the introduction of an incomplete dose that does not have the desired effect can be avoided.
For the treatment of children and adults, the spray is used in the same doses - 1-2 clicks. Use of the spray is allowed 3 times a day. But if a child or an adult has a risk of developing respiratory failure, he is immediately given a double dose, and then after 5 minutes another 2 doses. After that, repeat the injection of the drug can be only after two hours.
It is clear that these are general recommendations, and in each case the doctor will make an individual appointment, based on the age of the patient and his condition.
It is necessary to monitor the filling of the can. It is clear that the opaque packaging of the medicine does not allow you to visually assess this value. But after immersing the vial with the drug in the water according to the degree of its immersion, one can understand how soon a change of vial will be required.
Particular attention should be given to the purity of the mouthpiece on the vial with the drug. After each use, it is desirable to wash it with clean water. If there was no such possibility, and the tip was contaminated, as a result of which its work is disrupted, it can be washed with soapy water and then rinsed with water.
It is clear that the spray is designed for long-term treatment (for example, with bronchial asthma or chronic bronchitis), but this does not mean that it can not be used for acute bronchitis and other pathologies with a short duration of treatment. This applies to the solution of "Berodual", used in nebulizers as an independent medicine or in combination with other drugs.
Children under 6 years of age, Berodual's solution is administered with caution. Still, information about its use at this age is not enough, and experiments for obvious reasons on children do not. And yet, doctors believe that a dosage of 6 to 10 drops per inhalation will not harm a baby even in infancy. The dose for the youngest is calculated as 2 drops per kilogram of the child's weight.
Small patients over 6 years of age are prescribed a drug at a dosage of 10-20 drops per procedure for the prevention and treatment of bronchospasm. In case of a serious illness, according to the prescription of the doctor, the child's dosage can be increased to 40-60 drops. In critical situations, it is permissible to use a dose of 80 drops, but with an improvement in the child's condition, it is necessarily reduced to a minimum effective.
Adolescents 12 years and older are referred to the category of adult patients, as well as elderly people. The initial dose of the drug for them is 20 drops (1/20 vial or 1 ml). It is usually enough to relieve an attack of bronchial asthma or a slight bronchospasm.
In severe cases of bronchial obstruction, doctors consider it necessary to increase the dose to 40-80 drops, but it must be understood that per day inhalation can be administered into the human body no more than 8 ml of the drug (2 times 80 drops or 4 times 40 drops).
The Berodual solution is considered a concentrated preparation and is not applied undiluted. You can only dilute it with saline (0.9% sodium chloride solution). Distilled water, water for injection, boiled tap water or purified water are not suitable for the inhalation composition based on the Berodual solution.
Inhalation with a nebulizer with bronchitis "Berodual" and saline is carried out as follows:
- The first and very important requirement of inhalations is cleanliness of hands and apparatus. Cleanliness of the device will need to be taken care of in advance, washed with water and antiseptic. But my hands on the eve of the procedure will have to be necessary, washing them with soap and drying with a towel.
- We collect the nebulizer, check it and fill it with the prescribed dose (initially minimal and, if necessary, increased) dose of the drug in the form of a solution. Top with saline until the mark of 4 ml. This will be the total volume of the composition.
- We fix the nebulizer mask on the head and turn on the device.
- Breathing is done necessarily with the mouth, after which we hold our breath for a short time and breathe out with our noses.
- At the end of the procedure, the nebulizer should be thoroughly washed.
A portable nebulizer can be used at home to treat adults and children. But you need to remember that inhalation can not be done immediately after exercise or eating. Must pass at least an hour and a half before you can begin the treatment procedure. This will avoid a heavy load on the heart and digestive system.
The inhalation solution should not be cold. If necessary, it can be heated in a water bath.
Multiplicity of the procedure for children under 6 years is usually 3 times a day. Older children of inhalation are allowed to spend even 4 times a day. Adults, depending on the severity of the pathology doctor appoints 3-4 inhalations per day, with the time interval between the procedures should not be less than 4 hours.
Inhalations for children are done within 2 minutes. In this case, parents should ensure that the mask of the device fits well with the child's face. The duration of inhalations for adults can range from 2 to 7 minutes.
At the end of the procedure, an inhalation solution may remain in the inhaler. You can not use it again, however, as well as store a freshly prepared solution for more than half an hour. After inhalation, the remaining solution is disposed of, and the device is thoroughly rinsed with water. But it must be said that inhalations will be more effective if during the procedure the entire prescribed dose of the solution is consumed.
Any treatment should have its own safe time, so readers may have a legitimate question, how many days need to breathe "Berodual" with bronchitis? The duration of Berodual treatment is not specified in the instructions. However, for children under 6 years of age, doctors do not prescribe inhalation with this drug for more than 5 days. As for adults, then everything is purely individual.
If it is an acute pathology, then "Berodual" with bronchitis can be prescribed for a period of 5 to 14 days, depending on the severity of the patient's condition. But you need to consider that the drug can be addictive, and you may need to increase the single dose in the middle of the therapeutic course.
When it comes to the treatment of chronic obstructive bronchitis, the use of the drug is advisable only during periods of exacerbations. Such symptomatic (course) treatment helps to avoid the negative influence of the drug on the body during long-term treatment, and solves the problem of getting used to a medicine.
It must be said that quite often doctors in parallel with "Berodual" prescribe inhalation and with other bronchodilators ("Lazolvan", "Ambrobene", etc.). Inhalation by a nebulizer with bronchitis "Lazolvanom", "Berodual" and saline solution means a phased procedure. First inhalation is done by Berodual and saline, which promotes bronchial dilatation, but can cause coughing, and then, after about half an hour, the Lazolvan solution can be inhaled, which will soften the effect of Berodual and, as an effective bronchodilator with mild action, reduce the viscosity of phlegm and will help its easier removal.
There is also such a recipe for inhalations, which allows you to mix all 3 drugs in one inhalation. In this case, "Lazolvan" and saline are taken in the amount of 2 ml, and "Beroduala" is used only 0.5 ml (10 drops). In principle, these drugs can be mixed because they both have a bronchodilator effect. But nevertheless doctors recommend to adhere to the first scheme of treatment, when "Berodual" expands bronchi and prepares the ground for work "Lazolvanu". The effect of such treatment is much better than using only Berodual.
"Berodual" for children
This is what concerns moms, but what about the children? "Berodual" in the form of a solution for inhalation in children with bronchitis can be prescribed at any age. It is clear anxiety of parents when this potent drug is prescribed to the baby. But it is necessary to understand all the danger that constitutes an obstructive disease for a child's organism. Because of the sudden spasm of the bronchi, the child will begin to suffocate, the various organs and systems of the baby can suffer from lack of oxygen, which will negatively affect its development. And inhalations with "Berodual" allow with short terms to remove a spasm of muscles of the respiratory system and give the child the opportunity to breathe normally.
Moreover, if the disease in young children is not actively treated, it quickly passes into a chronic stage, because babies have not yet formed an immune system so that the body itself can cope with the disease. It is clear that the chronic inflammatory process all the more worsens the work of the bronchi, makes them more susceptible to the negative effects of environmental factors and some substances produced in the body itself, which causes bronchial spasms. In this case, they speak of chronic bronchial obstruction.
The lag in weight is likely to be the least of the evils that an untreated bronchitis can bring. And it is unlikely that this evil will be less than the negative impact of the medicine on the baby's body.
For infants with bronchitis, the same adult Berodual solution is used, only a smaller dose of the drug is dripped into the inhalation compound. Spray with the same name is allowed to be used to treat children after reaching the age of 6 years.
Use of the beroduala with bronchitis during pregnancy
The most honorable appointment of a woman is the birth of a new life. At the same time, the health of an unborn baby depends primarily on his mother. Any illness in a woman during this period will negatively affect a child, which means that waiting for the same bronchitis to pass by itself is rather reckless.
But the treatment of a pregnant woman requires more caution than therapy of patients who are not in a delicate position. After all, many drugs can harm the fetus in the womb, causing various pathologies of development or provoking premature births and miscarriages. Therefore, the choice of drugs during pregnancy is organic, as well as the possibilities of their use.
The use of Berodual during pregnancy is also somewhat limited. In the first trimester of pregnancy, when virtually all organs and systems of the fetus are formed, and especially the risk of miscarriage, any treatment, even a local inhalation, can be dangerous. For this reason, Berodual is not recommended for use in the treatment of bronchitis or other obstructive pathologies in a future mother until 4 months of pregnancy.
But that's not all. Influencing the smooth muscles of the bronchi, part of the drug can penetrate into the blood plasma and reduce the contractile capacity of the uterus, which is undesirable on the eve of childbirth. Therefore, in the third trimester of pregnancy, doctors can prescribe the drug only in the last resort and in a small dosage with all the necessary care.
After the birth of the baby, a caring mother will prefer to breast-feed the baby, because it is breast milk that helps babies develop strong immunity. But what about if your mother has obstructive bronchitis? The instruction does not prohibit the use of Berodual during lactation. And yet, it is better to refrain from natural feeding during these 5 days (namely, usually the treatment with the drug), offering the baby high-quality milk formulas or even whole cow milk.
Contraindications
The use of the drug "Berodual" with bronchitis and other reversible obstructive pathologies of the respiratory system without the appointment of a doctor is associated with a certain risk. The fact is that there are a number of pathologies in which inhalations with "Berodual" are dangerous for the health and life of the patient. But there are also such diseases that may require special conditions for the use of the medicine.
If treatment with a drug for some disease carries a high risk for human health, this disease or body condition is considered to be a contraindication to the use of this medication. Regarding the solution and spray with the name "Berodual", such contraindications are:
- Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, which is an irreversible condition and is not treated with bronchodilator drugs.
- Tachyarrhythmia, in which there is an excess of heart rate, and inhalation only complicates the situation.
- Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug (common to all drugs is an absolute contraindication to their use, associated with the risk of severe anaphylactic reactions that threaten human life).
- For the same reason, the drug is not prescribed if in the past the reaction of intolerance was observed with respect to atropine and drugs with a similar effect.
Now let's talk about those pathologies, the use of "Berodual" in which it can cause various complications, so the drug should be administered with extreme caution (it may be necessary to adjust the dose or conduct the procedure under the supervision of a doctor with various measurements and analyzes).
Caution in prescribing therapy and increased attention to patients may be needed if Berodual is used in the treatment of patients:
- with severe cardiac and vascular disorders: hypertension, heart defects, acute and chronic heart failure, heart ischemia, post-infarction period (within 3 months), etc.,
- with a closed angle glaucoma,
- with diseases of metabolism and thyroid disorders: diabetes mellitus type 1 and type 2, impaired thyroid hormone production (hyperthyroidism),
- with lesions of peripheral and coronary arteries,
- with obstruction of the neck of the bladder,
- as well as cystic fibrosis, prostate adenoma, pheochromocytoma, during pregnancy and lactation.
As you can see, the drug "Berodual" that is effective in bronchitis is not absolutely safe medicine if it is taken without taking into account the existing pathologies, as it happens when the patient prescribes medication alone without consulting a doctor.
Side effects of the beroduala with bronchitis
With contraindications and peculiarities of application of the drug "Berodual" in obstructive pathologies and prevention of bronchospasm in different groups of patients, we have sorted out a little. It would be desirable to hope, that in the future to apply a medicine without doctor's appointment and the account of contraindications will not want anybody.
Alas, even taking these moments into account does not relieve some patients of the unpleasant symptoms that may accompany drug therapy, and are associated with the individual characteristics of the organism. Such symptoms, called side effects of drugs, can occur with varying frequency and not always. Everything depends on the patient's body.
Side effects of the drug may be many, but those that are observed with a frequency of more than 5-10% are always a limited number. Drug "Berodual" to such actions include:
- intensification of cough (usually on the background of the withdrawal of a large amount of sputum, irritation of the mucosa or allergic reaction to the drug),
- headaches and dizziness,
- nausea and a feeling of dryness of the mucous membranes of the mouth, and sometimes even vomiting,
- hearing impairment,
- increased heart rate,
- increased nervous excitability and irritability,
- tremor,
- inflammation of the mucous membranes of the mouth.
But the drug has side effects, which are observed less often than those described above, but they should also not be ignored in order to understand what can be encountered during treatment. Different organs and systems of the body can react to the administration of the drug in their own way.
The immune system can show a negative attitude towards the drug with various allergic and anaphylactic reactions against a background of previously unknown sensitivity to the components of the drug.
The action of the drug on the metabolism occasionally manifests itself in a decrease in the level of potassium in the body ( hypokalemia ).
The visual organs on the background of Berodual therapy for bronchitis and other pathologies of the respiratory system can also fail, which will manifest itself in the violation of accommodation and the nebula of vision, the bifurcation of visible objects, the development of glaucoma, increased intraocular pressure, redness and swelling of the conjunctiva of the eyes.
Cardiovascular and respiratory system: a possible increase in heart rate, violation of the heart rhythm, the development of myocardial ischemia, irritation and swelling of the oral mucosa, pharynx and larynx, spasm of the muscles of the bronchi and pharynx, change in the timbre of the voice.
Rarely, but still other symptoms may appear: stool and urination disorders, the appearance of vesicles on the oral mucosa and lips (stomatitis), weakness or muscle spasms, etc.
It should be understood that the incidence of these symptoms is very low, and all changes in the work of organs are usually reversible. Nevertheless, the occurrence of any side effects of the drug must always notify the doctor, and he will decide whether to cancel the medicine or just to adjust its dose.
Overdose
All potent drugs require strict adherence to the prescribed dosage and treatment regimen. An independent increase in the dose of the drug or the duration of its use is fraught with the appearance of an overdose phenomenon, which is usually manifested in the form of an intensification of the intensity of side effects.
When overdosing with the drug "Berodual" can be marked tachycardia, a strong heartbeat, jumps in blood pressure, trembling in the hands, flushes to the head with a feeling of heat in the face, drying of the mucous membranes of the mouth, blurred vision. A reverse reaction may also occur with the development of severe bronchospasm.
It turns out that high doses can not only not help the cause, but also complicate it. When an overdose of the drug is symptomatic therapy, prescribed sedatives and antidepressants. In severe cases, treatment (resuscitation) is recommended to be carried out in a hospital environment where the person will be under medical supervision for some time.
It must be remembered that the treatment of bronchitis should be carried out in a complex manner. In parallel with the inhalation of "Berodual" anti-inflammatory and antibiotic therapy (if the cause of the disease is an infection), antihistamines are prescribed (if it comes to the allergic nature of the disease), immunostimulants, vitamins.
Interactions with other drugs
The drug "Berodual", so often prescribed by doctors with chronic obstructive bronchitis, is a potent remedy that can react with other medications. And not always such interactions are beneficial.
If, for example, Berodual is used together with Lazolvan or Ambrobene, treatment will be more successful, since these drugs have a similar effect and do not reduce the effectiveness of each other. The action of the drug is enhanced by drugs with beta-adrenomimetics and anticholinergic components. But we need to understand that not only the bronchodilator effect can be strengthened, but also the probability and intensity of side effects
But simultaneous therapy with "Berodual" and beta-blockers can lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of the bronchodilator.
Diuretics and xanthine derivatives in the treatment of bronchitis "Berodual" can increase the likelihood of hypokalemia. This is especially dangerous for long-term treatment with the drug. In patients with severe obstruction, there is a risk against this background to earn arrhythmia, especially if they take in parallel "Digoxin".
When prescribing such a potent drug as Berodual, one should always beware of caution. Any medicines taken should be reported to the treating doctor before the bronchodilator is started.
Storage conditions
In addition, this medicine does not require any special storage conditions. It safely tolerates heat up to 30 degrees, but it is recommended to protect it from direct sunlight. Caution should be observed if there are small children in the house who can use the medicine for other purposes. And even if a doctor has prescribed a medicine for a child, parents should monitor the use of the spray or inhalation by the child, explain to the child the danger of misusing the drug, and teach self-discipline.
[14]
Shelf life
Use the drug "Berodual" for obstructive bronchitis with chronic course for a long time to take short courses to achieve remission. This may raise a clear question: how long can such a drug be stored? Shelf life of the medicine is quite large. The drug remains effective and relatively safe for 5 years.
Reviews about the drug
The fact that "Berodual" is most often prescribed for obstructive bronchitis and other pathologies associated with reversible violation of airway patency speaks for itself. The drug is trusted by doctors and pharmacists, which means that it is really effective.
As far as the drug is safe, it can be judged by the age at which it is prescribed to children. Inhalation with a nebulizer with bronchitis "Berodual" and saline can appoint a baby of infancy, which means that its effectiveness exceeds the risk to health. In addition, mention of the side effects of the drug are very rare, which indicates its good tolerability.
Good reviews of the drug due to its speed. Relief, according to many reviews, comes almost immediately. Sputum begins to separate easily, breathing becomes easier, rales disappear. In most cases, treatment with the drug lasted from 3 to 5 days, despite the fact that doctors prescribed inhalations with Berodual for 2 times a day for children and 3 times a day for adults.
Another drug that the therapist or pediatrician can prescribe for bronchitis and lung obstruction is Pulmicort. The question arises, what is better with bronchitis, "Berodual" or "Pulmicort"?
Yes, the indications for the use of drugs are the same pathologies, so they can equally be prescribed by a doctor. But you need to understand that these are not equivalent medicines. "Pulmicort", which contains one active substance, is famous for its anti-inflammatory effect, due to which the number of asthma attacks decreases and the probability of bronchospasm decreases. "Berodual" also has some anti-inflammatory effect, but the main focus of the two-component medicine is on the expansion of the bronchi due to relaxation and facilitating the excretion of phlegm.
The advantages of Pulmicort are:
- a small number of contraindications (it is not prescribed for individual intolerance to the drug),
- good tolerability and lack of habituation with long-term treatment,
- relative ease of side effects: mucosal irritation, rarely - thrush in the mouth in children, which prevents mouth rinsing after the procedure, increased excitability, mild allergic reactions in the form of itching or rash.
The positive properties of Berodual are:
- a rapid effect that is expected within the first 15 minutes (during treatment, Pulmicort will have to wait about an hour before the improvement comes)
