The mucolytic cough remedy Ambrobene belongs to a group of drugs that facilitate the expectoration of sputum (bronchial secretions) and clear the airways.
Indications Ambrobene for cough
Abrobene and its synonyms or generics - Abrol , Ambrohexal, Ambrosan, Ambrolitin, Lasolvan, Lazolex, Mucovent, Medox , Bronchopront, Brontex, Bronchoval, Bronhoxol, Flavamed (including effervescent tablets), etc. - are used to treat cough with sputum in respiratory and bronchopulmonary infections. That is, Ambrobene is prescribed for a wet cough with thick sputum, which is difficult to cough up.

This drug has such forms of release as:
- cough syrup Ambrobene;
- Ambrobene cough tablets (30 mg each);
- retard capsules (75 mg each);

Pharmacokinetics
Ambroxol hydrochloride is metabolized by the liver, and excretion occurs through the kidneys in the form of its breakdown products.
Dosing and administration

This remedy in the form of a solution and syrup in the appropriate dosage can be used by children from the age of two; the drug in the form of tablets and solution for injection - from the age of six, and in the form of capsules - 12 years.
Use Ambrobene for cough during pregnancy
During the first three months of pregnancy, the use of this drug is contraindicated. At a later date, Ambrobene for coughing may be prescribed by the attending physician, evaluating the ratio of its benefits to the mother with the potential risk to the fetus.
Contraindications
Ambrobene is contraindicated for use in case of hypersensitivity to the components that make up its composition; with insufficient motor function of the bronchi and peptic ulcer of the stomach and / or duodenum during an exacerbation.

Possible side effects are manifested by an allergic reaction (with urticaria, itching and Quincke's edema), nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, taste disturbance, heartburn, abdominal pain.
Overdose
With an overdose of ambroxol hydrochloride preparations, including Ambrobene, hypersolivation, nausea, vomiting, arterial hypotension develop.
Interactions with other drugs
Mucolytics should not be used simultaneously with antitussive drugs of central and peripheral action - Codeine, Codelac, Butamirat, Tusuprex, Libexin, etc.
It should be borne in mind that taking Ambrobene increases the concentration of such simultaneously used antibacterial drugs as Erythromycin, Amoxicillin, Cefuroxime in the bronchial secretion.
Storage conditions
The optimum temperature for storing the drug is +15-22°C.
Shelf life
The drug is suitable for use within five years from the date of issue indicated on the package.
