Renalgan is a complex medicine, whose therapeutic activity is provided by the properties of its three main constituent components. The medicine has a strong antispasmodic and analgesic effect.

Metamizole Na demonstrates analgesic, antipyretic, and in addition anti-inflammatory (mild) effect.

The pitofenone component promotes relaxation of smooth muscles in the area of internal organs. [1]

The element fenpiverinium also demonstrates noticeable antispasmodic activity. [2]

Indications Renalgan

Pharmacokinetics

After an intramuscular injection, the drug is absorbed at high speed. Bioavailability values are approximately 85%. Blood Cmax values are noted after 60 minutes on average.

The synthesis of metamizole with blood protein is 50-60%; the substance overcomes the BBB and the placenta without complications. The drug undergoes intensive intrahepatic transformation; its metabolic elements have medicinal activity.

Excretion mostly takes place through the kidneys, in the form of metabolic components.

Dosing and administration

Ampoules of the drug should be injected intramuscularly - 2-5 ml of liquid, repeating the procedure at 7-8-hour intervals. A maximum of 10 ml of the substance is allowed to be administered per day. The parenteral regimen can last 2-3 days, and then the patient is transferred to taking pills.
