Examination of the body

Conjunctiva study

Conjunctiva is easily accessible for research and diagnosis of many of its diseases, does not require any special equipment.

Examination of lacrimal organs

The marginal tear stream of both eyes is examined with a slit lamp before other manipulations on the eyelids or by instillation of local preparations that can change the clinical picture. Many patients with tearfulness do not have pronounced lachrymation, but when examined they are diagnosed with a high marginal tear stream on the affected side.

Investigation of the hemodynamics of the eye

The study of hemodynamics of the eye is important in the diagnosis of various local and general vascular pathological conditions. The following basic methods are used for the study: ophthalmodinamometry, ophthalmoplethysmography, ophthalmosfigmography, rheophthalmography, ultrasonic dopplerography.

Investigation of the sensitivity of the cornea

The cornea is a highly sensitive shell of the eyeball. With various pathological conditions of the eye, its sensitivity can be significantly reduced or completely disappear, so its definition can be a very informative indicator in establishing the diagnosis.

Investigation of intraocular pressure

The level of intraocular pressure can be determined in various ways: tentatively (palpation), using tonometers of the applanation or impression type, and also in a non-contact way.

Gonioscopy

Gonioscopy is a method of examining the angle of the anterior chamber, hidden behind the translucent part of the cornea (limb), which is performed using a gonioscope and a slit lamp.

Biomicroscopy

Biomicroscopy is the intravital microscopy of the eye tissues, a method that allows one to examine the anterior and posterior parts of the eyeball under various illumination and image magnitudes.

Ophthalmoscopy

Ophthalmoscopy is a method of examining the retina, optic nerve and vascular membrane in the rays of light reflected from the fundus. The clinic uses two methods of ophthalmoscopy - in the reverse and in a direct form.

Eye examination with side (focal) and transmitted light

The method is designed to detect subtle changes in the anterior part of the eyeball. The study is conducted in a dark room using a table lamp installed on the left and front of the patient at a distance of 40-50 cm at the level of his face.

Methods for the study of accommodation

It is necessary to distinguish between absolute and relative accommodation. Absolute accommodation is the accommodation of one (isolated) eye when turned off from the act of seeing the other.
