Vagoklis is an antimicrobial and bactericidal agent that belongs to the group of organic acids.
Indications Vagoclys
The following pathologies are considered indications for the use of the drug Vagoklis:
- signs of bacterial vaginosis;
- imbalance of vaginal microflora, which has formed as a result of internal, injection or external use of antibiotics or chemotherapy;
- taking hormonal drugs;
- irritating effects of a mechanical or chemical nature on the vaginal mucosa (use of inappropriate creams, lubricants, intimate hygiene products);
- for prophylactic purposes during treatment (especially long-term) using antibiotics or chemotherapeutic agents.
Release form
The drug Vagoklis is produced in the form of a vaginal transparent solution in 120 ml sachets. The package may contain 1, 3 or 10 sachets.
Manufacturer: German pharmaceutical company B. Braun.
The active component of the drug is lactic acid. 1 ml of vaginal solution contains 10 mg of lactic acid, as well as a number of additional substances: benzalkonium chloride, glycerin, sodium hydroxide and water.
Pharmacodynamics
The natural environment of the vagina should normally contain mixed populations of non-pathogenic microorganisms (mostly lactobacilli - Doderlein's bacilli). This ensures an acidic pH of 4 in the vagina.
Disruption of this natural balance can provoke the appearance of discharge, unpleasant odor, itching, and the development of an inflammatory process.
Treatment of the vagina with Vagoklis helps maintain the natural balance of vaginal microflora.
Pharmacokinetics
The pharmacokinetics of Vagoklis have not been studied.
Dosing and administration
Vagoklis is prescribed for intravaginal use. As a therapeutic measure, the drug is used 2 to 4 times a week. In uncomplicated cases, or for preventive purposes, the solution is used up to 2 times a week.
The duration of the course of treatment and the number of daily irrigations are determined by the doctor and depend on the degree of neglect of the vaginal flora imbalance process.
Important points for using Vagoklis:
- We begin the procedure after thorough hygiene of the external genitalia;
- we take the packaged solution out of the box;
- bring it to room temperature (if the drug was stored in the refrigerator, the bag can be placed briefly in warm (not hot) water;
- keeping the bag in a vertical position, move the retainer to the lower edge of the nozzle so as to completely cover the nozzle;
- break off the edge of the tip so that a drop of lactic acid solution appears from it;
- carefully insert the nozzle into the vaginal cavity;
- We open the lock and, squeezing the bag, squeeze the contents into the vagina.
