Natural remedies often become much more effective than the most common medications. They can also perfectly complement medical prescriptions. This can be explained simply: natural natural preparations contain a rich set of vitamins and minerals, and they are easily and naturally perceived by the human body. For example, many have heard about how effective animal fat can be for coughs. At the same time, cough is only one of the uses of such fats as badger, goat, bear, etc. In our article, you will learn about the main properties of animal products and the features of their use in folk medicine.

Indications for use

As such, there are no instructions for using fat for coughs, of course – after all, it is a folk remedy. However, many folk healers, and even doctors themselves, can recommend using fats for such diseases and pathological conditions:

  • tuberculosis;
  • pneumonia;
  • bronchitis (acute, chronic);
  • smoker's cough;
  • cold, acute respiratory viral infection, pharyngitis, laryngitis, acute respiratory disease;
  • bronchial asthma;
  • general exhaustion, anemia.

In addition, fatty products can be used externally not only for coughs, but also for hematomas, psoriasis, insect bites, alopecia and skin laxity.

Animal fat preparations are an excellent natural way to get rid of any type of cough. Due to the rich mineral and cleansing composition, such a remedy has a powerful healing effect on the body.

Benefits of fats for cough

Animal fat is a natural product that is extracted from the fatty tissue of mammals, birds, fish and some reptiles. Treatment of cough with fat has been known for a long time: it has been used since the times when there were no drugs and people were treated exclusively by folk methods. How do fats work?

The composition of such a natural product is diverse. This includes a number of nucleic acids, proteins, saturated acids, cytamines and broncholamines, etc. Such a rich composition is due to the fact that animals accumulate a lot of useful nutrients in their fatty tissue during their life, for their active use during the long winter period.

There are many fatty products that can be used for medicinal purposes. But the most popular are badger, goat, bear and various bird fats, such as geese.

The basic methods of using fatty products are rubbing, compresses and internal use.

Almost any fat can be used for rubbing against cough: good quality rubbing produces a warming effect, optimizes blood flow, forms a kind of protective barrier on the skin, cleanses and disinfects the skin surface.

Fat in the form of compresses is more often used to treat children, since this method does not involve strong rubbing of the product. As it works, a fat compress for cough gives tissues nutritional and vitamin components, sharply increases immune protection, stimulates cellular metabolic processes, accelerates the formation and removal of mucus. At the same time, metabolism improves, and intoxication of the body decreases.

Internal consumption of fat also has a warming effect, activates the body's own defenses and metabolism, which leads to acceleration of recovery processes. The fat product improves the absorption of vitamins, participates in the construction of cell membranes, optimizes the production of hormones and prostaglandins.

Badger fat for cough

The properties of badger fat in medicine have not yet been sufficiently studied, but it is widely used in many regions of the post-Soviet space - especially in Siberia and the Far East. Badger fat copes well with various diseases of the lungs, upper respiratory system, it is used for cold cough, bronchitis, and also for the treatment of external skin diseases. The spectrum of activity of this product is very wide, and the effect is mild. That is why badger fat is most widely used in the treatment of childhood diseases.

It is believed that one badger can contain about one kilogram of fat mass: such a mass is easily melted, similar in color to fresh linden honey. The melted product can be stored in cool conditions for about two years. And many amateurs use such fat not only to treat coughs, but also for culinary purposes.

How to take for cough:

  • warm fat mass is rubbed into the chest area 1-2 times a day;
  • Take 1 teaspoon orally half an hour before meals, or with milk.

Bear fat for cough

One brown bear can produce about 25 kilograms of pure fat product, which is white or slightly yellowish in color and has excellent melting properties. Storing such a product is more difficult: it is usually sprinkled with salt, rolled up with lids and placed in a cellar, or frozen. The bear remedy has become especially widespread due to its effectiveness in the fight against tuberculosis. Both adults and children use it - both externally and internally.

How to take:

  • rub the chest area, preferably before going to bed;
  • Take 1 tablespoon of fat 2-3 times a day, half an hour before meals;
  • Mix the fat with honey in half and take 1 tbsp three times a day;

The first and second grades are made from raw lard, such fat is dense, with a yellowish tint, with the smell of "cracklings". It can be cloudy.

Milk with fat for cough

The best way to quickly moisturize the mucous membrane and stop a dry cough attack is to offer the patient a glass of milk with fat. The fat can be any: goat, goose, or even butter. The only fat that is not suitable is fish oil, which is absolutely not compatible with milk.

To prepare a healing drink, take 200 ml of milk, heat it to a temperature of no more than 50°C, dilute 1-2 teaspoons of fat in it. If desired and possible, you can add a little honey.

If the cough bothers you mainly at night, you can drink the drink before going to bed or right at the moment of the attack. In case of a severe debilitating cough, the remedy is allowed to be drunk several times a day, for five or seven days.

In addition to quickly eliminating cough, fat with milk perfectly strengthens the immune system and promotes rapid recovery of the body after an infectious disease.

Fat and honey for cough

Fat and honey are useful to consume with milk – we have already mentioned this above. For one glass of warm milk you need to take 1-2 teaspoons of fat and honey, dissolve and drink. But such ingredients are quite suitable not only for internal, but also for external use.

So, if the patient does not have a high temperature, you can prepare a kind of replacement for "mustard plasters". Mix honey and fat in equal quantities. The resulting mass is evenly distributed over the surface of the chest, avoiding the heart area. Put compression paper (wax paper, tracing paper) on top, then a towel. The structure is well secured with a bandage or scarf, kerchief. The patient is covered with a blanket and left for at least half an hour. After removing the compress, the skin is wiped with a napkin and warm water, wrapped up warmly.

Contraindications

In addition to the huge list of advantages and useful properties, fat can also have an adverse effect on human health. Such an effect is especially common with improper treatment and non-compliance with prescription features associated with the use of a particular type of fat for cough. For example, with excessive application to the skin, irritation may occur, and with the use of a large amount of fat inside - increased intestinal motility, diarrhea.

Cough oil should not be used, or should be used with caution:

  • if you are prone to allergic reactions;
  • in the presence of stones in the gallbladder;
  • during pregnancy, during breastfeeding;
  • for inflammation of the pancreas;
  • for liver diseases.

Rubbing with fat is not recommended at high temperatures: you must wait until the temperature returns to normal, otherwise you can worsen the patient's condition.

Risks and possible complications

The likelihood of complications increases if the patient uses cough oil for a long time or uses it too often and in large quantities.

After ingesting fat, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occur. And if the fat was stored in improper conditions (for example, in warm or damp conditions), then symptoms of poisoning may occur:

  • frequent loose stools;
  • vomit;
  • increase in temperature;
  • headache, dizziness;
  • convulsions.

If the fat is covered with a yellowish or white film, has a strange sour or rotten smell, an unpleasant bitter taste, then you cannot use such a product: most likely, it is spoiled. Also, you should not buy fat if you are not sure of its quality.

It should be remembered that even the use of a quality product, but in large quantities, can lead to complications. We are talking about disruptions in the functioning of the liver and pancreas.

Reviews

The use of fat for cough is extremely common, and not only in our country, but also in China, Tibet and other parts of the world. Most often, the natural product is used to treat coughs due to colds, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Patients who regularly treat themselves and their loved ones with natural fats warn: in order to get the necessary therapeutic effect, the product must be rubbed into the skin, and not just smeared. It is good if the procedure is carried out by a man, because strong hands are needed for high-quality rubbing. Correct rubbing causes blood flow to the skin, due to which the fat is completely absorbed, exerting its therapeutic effect. As for the treatment of children, it is necessary to rub well, but you should not overdo it either: children's skin is delicate, so the procedure should be neat and gentle. Newborns are not treated in this way. The optimal age for using this type of treatment is at least one year. Internal use of fat is allowed only from the age of five.

Cough fat is a good alternative to expensive drugs with a lot of side effects. However, there is one problem: where to get a really high-quality product? Most often, fat is purchased from hunters, farmers, or even pharmacies. Buying a product from unknown people is dangerous: you can encounter a fake and harm your health.
