It is a solution intended for oral administration, as well as for inhalations. The international non-proprietary name of the drug is the name ambroxol. This is due to the fact that the main active substance is ambroxol hydrochloride. There are also auxiliary substances, but they do not have a significant effect on the therapeutic process. As auxiliary substances, citric acid, sodium hydrogenphosphate, sodium chloride, benzalkonium chloride, purified water are considered. It is a clear solution, which is either colorless or has a slightly brownish hue.
Indications Syrup Lazolvan
Indications for use are various acute and chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract, as well as cough of various etiologies. It is prescribed for acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, pneumonia, obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchiectasis of the respiratory tract.

Pharmacodynamics
Refers to a group of expectorants, mucolytic agents. In studying the pharmacological properties, ambroxol is considered as the main active substance. The mechanism of its action is that it increases the secretion of mucus in the respiratory tract, and also stimulates the production of surfactant in the alveoli.
Surfactant products stimulate ciliary activity. All this increases the current and transport of mucus, resulting in mucociliary clearance. Strengthening of mucociliary clearance facilitates the sputum, and also significantly alleviates the condition, in particular, cough is facilitated. Cough is also significantly eased in patients with obstructive pulmonary disease. Lazolvana therapy is often long, with a duration of at least 2 months. The number of exacerbations is significantly reduced. Also it is worth noting that against the background of the use of lazolvan, the number of antibiotic days is significantly reduced.
Pharmacokinetics
A study of pharmacokinetics shows that dosage forms are rapidly released, and almost complete absorption in the respiratory tract is observed. There is a linear relationship between the dose of the drug and the therapeutic effect. The maximum concentration in the blood is reached after 1.5-2 hours after administration. The volume of distribution is approximately 550 liters. The drug binds to blood plasma by 90%.
Ambroxol quickly passes from the blood into the tissues, especially if taken orally. At the same time, the highest concentrations of the drug are found in the lung tissue, which indicates a high effectiveness of treatment and tropicity of the drug to the lung tissue. Recovery comes much faster, as the drug has a targeted effect on the body, it acts purposefully against pathogens of the upper respiratory tract.
Also it is necessary to take into account that the preparation is approximately 30% subjected to primary processing in the liver. Therefore, with caution should be assigned to patients with hepatic insufficiency. The highest percentage of drug processing is observed in liver microsomes. In this case, the metabolism of ambroxol is carried out to dimbromantranilic acid. Other components are also formed, which accumulate mainly in the liver, which must be taken into account in the treatment of patients suffering from liver diseases, in particular, liver failure.
The half-life of the drug is 10 hours. At the same time, the total clearance is in the range of 600-660 ml / min. At the same time, the renal clearance accounts for at least 8% of the total clearance. It is known that the drug turnover takes an average of 5 days, with about 83% of the dose excreted in the urine. During the research, there was no dependence on sex, age, constitution features and other patient parameters.

Dosing and administration
The drug is recommended to take inside. Children from 2 to 6 years are prescribed 25 drops three times a day. In some cases, under the supervision of a doctor, the drug is still prescribed for children under 2 years: 25 drops 2 times a day. Children older than 6 years are recommended to prescribe the drug 50 drops three times a day. You can dilute the drops in water, tea, various broths. Babies can be diluted in milk. Take regardless of the meal.

Contraindications
The drug is contraindicated for hypersensitivity to individual components of the drug, as well as with pronounced allergic reactions. The drug is not recommended for patients under the age of 2 years, because it has the ability to affect the nervous system.
Side effects Syrup Lazolvan
It can provoke a strong cough, as it helps to remove sputum from the body, which liquefies. It is worth noting that the drug can not be combined with antitussive drugs, since their action is aimed at the opposite, to strengthen the cough. Accordingly, sputum with a cough is quickly eliminated from the body and the inflammatory process is quickly eliminated.
Side effects are rare. But it is worth noting that in the case of almost all of them are associated with violations of the digestive system. In about 10% of cases, nausea and vomiting occur. Often there is a decrease in the sensitivity of the pharynx, the oral cavity. In about 1% of cases, severe vomiting and diarrhea, dyspepsia, pain in the stomach, bloating. Very rarely, about 0.01% of cases are dryness in the throat.
Disorders from the immune system can also be observed. It is also worth noting that in people with a tendency to allergic reactions, anaphylactic shock may occur (with a tendency to allergic reactions of immediate type). If a hypersensitivity reaction of a delayed type predominates in a person, a skin rash, urticaria, irritation, itching is observed.
People who have a history of various diseases of the nervous system, there is a violation of taste, auditory, olfactory receptors. Angioedema can also develop.
Overdose
In cases of overdose, nausea, vomiting, indigestion arise. Often there is pain in the stomach. First, it is worth immediately canceling the drug. It is also necessary to call an ambulance. If necessary, the stomach is washed, to the state of "pure water".
Then symptomatic treatment is carried out, the essence of which is to eliminate the effects of exposure to excessive amounts of the drug on the body. Before the doctor arrives, immediately induce vomiting. Gastric lavage is effective approximately 1-2 hours after taking a large amount of medicine, because the drug is slowly absorbed.

Interactions with other drugs
There are no bright and clinically significant cases of drug interaction with other drugs. It is known only that the drug is able to increase the degree of penetration of drugs into the bronchodilator secret. In particular, the activity of such drugs as ammonoxycillin, erythromycin, cefuroxime, and other antibacterial drugs is increasing.
Of particular interest is the fact that the drug is not recommended to be combined with other medicines, especially with antitussives, and those that have the ability to delay the sputum production. It is also not recommended to take with antitussive drugs. On the contrary, it should be taken with those drugs that enhance cough and promote accelerated excretion of sputum from the body. Also, the drug is combined with anti-inflammatory drugs quite well. If a person has an increased reactivity of the bronchi, you need to drink plenty of water after taking the medication. The solution contains a fairly large amount of benzalkonin chloride, so people with increased reactivity with insufficient drinking can experience bronchospasm.
Storage conditions
Cough syrup in children should be stored at a temperature of no higher than 25 degrees, in a place inaccessible to children.
Special instructions
It must also be taken into account that the preparation must be shaken before use, since the main active substance has the ability to precipitate. Accordingly, the drug will not have the proper therapeutic effect. Before prescribing the drug to children under the age of 12, you should consult a doctor.
There are reports that in some cases severe skin disorders can occur, up to the development of purulent-septic and inflammatory skin diseases, as well as the development of a disease such as Stephen-Jones Syndrome. Caution should be given to patients with various genetic abnormalities and metabolic disorders. It is also worth noting that in people with genetic abnormalities, skin disorders occur significantly more often. People with genetic diseases can develop even epidermal necrolysis, the severity of which develops in direct proportion to the severity of the disease.
If a person has impaired renal and hepatic function, the drug should also be noted with caution. It is necessary to consult the physician in advance. The drug significantly reduces the concentration of attention, and also removes the speed of psychomotor reactions.
