Pharmacodynamics
The drug has an anti-inflammatory effect, eliminates constriction of the bronchi and lungs.
The main effect is achieved due to the fact that the active substance - fenspiride - acts as a biologically active substance, which plays an important role in the development of the inflammatory process and spasm of the lungs. It also helps to reduce the production of cytokines. The advantage of the drug is that it reduces the activity of tumor necrosis factor. It is able to block the activity of histamine receptors, as a result of which the allergic reaction is reduced, swelling and the inflammatory process are eliminated.
Due to the fact that the drug has the ability to block beta-adrenergic receptors, the activity and secretion of the bronchial glands increases. Fenspiril reduces the effect of many factors, while hypersecretion of anti-inflammatory factors occurs, the severity of the inflammatory process decreases, and bronchial obstruction is disrupted.

Pharmacokinetics
The drug has the ability to be well absorbed directly from the gastrointestinal tract. At the same time, after 6 hours, the maximum concentration of the drug in the blood is detected. The duration of action of the drug is from 1 to 8 hours. The half-life is approximately 12 hours. Thus, the drug has a fairly prolonged action, as a result of which it can be given to patients approximately 2-3 times a day. The main part of the drug is excreted in the urine - up to 90%, and the remaining 10% - through the intestines. Accordingly, the drug creates a load on the kidneys, so it should be given with caution to children suffering from kidney disease, with renal failure.
Dosing and administration
For children under 18, the drug is prescribed in the form of syrup. However, it is also available in other dosage forms. It is prescribed at a rate of 4 mg / kg of body weight. It can be given to children under one year old, with a body weight of up to 10 kilograms, 2-4 teaspoons of syrup are indicated. This is the daily dosage.
