Pharmacodynamics

In their action, compositions with mullein flowers are similar to preparations of marshmallow root, so they are widely used in the treatment of bronchitis. Mullein relieves irritation of the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract, liquefies phlegm and promotes its removal from the bronchi.

Dosing and administration

The infusion is prepared from 1 glass of boiling water and 1-2 tablespoons of dried or fresh flowers. The composition is infused in a warm place with the lid closed for at least 2 hours. It is more convenient to prepare the infusion in a thermos. The medicinal composition is taken warm. A glass of infusion should be drunk during the day in 3 doses.

There is another effective recipe for bronchitis, where milk is used as the liquid component of the medicine. Take 1 tbsp of plant flowers per 1 glass of milk. Bring the mixture to a boil and keep it on low heat for 3-5 minutes. After removing the mixture from the heat, let it brew for another hour. The treatment should be carried out twice a day. A single dose is 1 glass of the drink mixed with a spoonful of natural honey. It is better to take the second dose of the medicine before going to bed. This will help get rid of coughing fits at night.
