Cystitis bothers women more often than men. This is due to the anatomical features of the female genitourinary organs. In a third of patients, there is a relapse and transition to a chronic form. Prevention of cystitis is designed to prevent such a process. This is one of the main goals of inflammation therapy.

Prevention of chronic cystitis

Correct treatment of cystitis should prevent the problem, after which complete recovery occurs. And also the behavior of the patient, not provoking a relapse. There are three groups of methods for effective prevention of cystitis:

  • non-drug;
  • medicinal;
  • folk.

It is impossible to single out any method as the most effective, therefore doctors recommend a complex application. Specialists pay attention to the need to correct the patient's behavior regarding their health, since a responsible attitude reduces the likelihood of relapse.

For the prevention of chronic cystitis, it is important not to delay urination, to protect yourself from colds, to observe personal hygiene, especially in the intimate area. The underwear should be loose, do not squeeze the bubble. Particular attention should be paid to hygiene during menstruation.

Strengthening the immune system, preventing the exacerbation of other chronic pathologies also protects against recurrence of bladder inflammation. The diet is recommended to be followed not only during an exacerbation, but also in remission of cystitis.

  • The advantage of drug prevention is that the effectiveness of drugs is proven by research and practice.

The doctor should draw up a therapy regimen. As a rule, immunopreparations, probiotics, bacteriophages, antimicrobial agents are used. Antibiotics, in view of the risk of side effects, are used only when other drugs have not had an effect.

Herbal remedies are milder and usually have no negative effects. Lingonberry, goldenrod eliminate harmful microorganisms and prevent relapse. On the basis of medicinal plants, pharmacists produce diuretics and anti-inflammatory drugs for long-term use. [1]

Prevention of cystitis in women

Cystitis is suspected in women when there is frequent painful urination in small doses, pain in the lower abdomen, clouding or redness of urine. Body temperature may rise. How to avoid this nuisance?

To prevent cystitis from bothering a woman, you should be especially careful about your health.

  • Personal hygiene is key to preventing cystitis in women.

Starting with clean linen that does not compress the genitals and bladder, to regular water and disinfecting procedures in the intimate area.

In the cold season, linen should not only be comfortable and constantly clean, but also warm enough.

  • Prevention of cystitis includes prevention of hypothermia.

It is this that is the cause of inflammation and penetration of infection into the cavity of the bladder. Women are advised to avoid getting their shoes wet, skirts that are too short and trousers-thighs that do not cover the area of the kidneys and genitourinary organs. Untreated inflammation in these organs is the cause of secondary cystitis.

During menstruation, you should change the pads on time and wash yourself especially carefully, moving from front to back, and not vice versa.

Alcohol, spicy, salty, spicy foods can serve as a bad service for cystitis. It must be excluded from the diet, replacing it with diet food. [2]

Prevention of cystitis during pregnancy

Because of the wide and short urethra, women suffer from cystitis many times more often than men. During pregnancy, 10% of expectant mothers face this problem, including those who have never heard of the need to prevent cystitis before. If inflammation in pregnant women is not treated, then premature birth, accompanied by complications, can occur. Only timely access to medical care minimizes risks.

  • To prevent cystitis during pregnancy, you should protect yourself from situations that cause pathology.

There are many of them, we will list the main thing that is required from a woman.

  1. Do not sit in one place for more than an hour. Take frequent breaks when sedentary.
  2. Drink plenty of fluids, especially cranberry drinks.
  3. Eliminate junk food, fried, sweet, salty.
  4. To prevent constipation, move more, eat foods with fiber.
  5. Eliminate all foci of infection: chronic pathologies, dental problems.
  6. Wear fresh underwear made from natural fabrics, comfortable tights and clothing.
  7. For hygiene, use products that do not violate the intimate microflora.
  8. Urine regularly, completely empty the bladder.
  9. Apply toilet paper correctly.
  10. Empty before having sex.

Prevention of cystitis in men

In men, cystitis is less common and occurs, as a rule, against the background of prostate pathologies. Treatment is carried out and the actual bladder, and adenoma or prostatitis, which gave rise to cystitis. The organs in men are closely interconnected and therefore complex treatment is necessary. If the problem is not identified in time and therapy is not started, then this is fraught with serious consequences.

As a rule, the urologist prescribes antibacterial agents, auto-massage, immunostimulants. An important point of prevention is the prevention of hypothermia, and during treatment, abstinence from sex and drinking is recommended. [3]

  • With careful observance of medical recommendations, the prognosis of treatment is favorable.

Recovery should be confirmed by repeated tests. The simple disappearance of the characteristic symptoms of cystitis caused by half measures or self-medication is not such a guarantee. On the contrary, there are real risks of becoming chronic.

  • Prevention of cystitis in children and adolescents consists in maintaining personal hygiene.

It is the neglect of the purity of the intimate zone that causes cystitis at this age. A hygienic culture should be brought up from early childhood, and this is a factor in the prevention of cystitis in adult men.

Prevention of cystitis in children

Why the prevention of cystitis in children is relevant, it becomes clear after reading some statistical data. It turns out that infections of the genitourinary system are the third most common in children and adolescents - after diseases of the upper respiratory tract and digestive organs. And inflammation of the bladder in the smallest in frequency is in the lead in its "group"!

  • At an older age, the indicators are less frightening, but nevertheless, diseases do occur. 99% of young patients are exposed to bacterial infection.

To protect your child from trouble, you need to know about the measures to prevent cystitis. If a baby has a single episode, then you should pay increased attention to hygiene, explain to him in an age-appropriate language how to wash properly. This is especially important for girls who should only wash from front to back and wear cotton underwear. Washing the children regularly, teaching them that over time the girl does it correctly on her own.

  • A banal thrush can also provoke inflammation. When you notice its symptoms, start treating until they disappear.

Another task for parents is to make sure that children do not get cold in their feet, wear trousers and outerwear that cover the lower back. Staying on a cold surface, for example, on a ground unheated by the sun, can also provoke cystitis. [4]

If, nevertheless, cystitis has acquired a chronic form, then the intervention of specialists is necessary. Competent prevention includes the regulation of the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. A varied diet containing vegetables, cereals, bread, fruits, diuretic drinks serves to effectively prevent cystitis and strengthen the body. This is facilitated by active sports, walks, and regular hygienic gymnastics.

Prevention of postcoital cystitis

The postcoital variant of cystitis is characterized by the fact that acute attacks occur every time after intercourse. That is, it is due to intimacy. They even talk about the honeymoon syndrome, when the symptoms of cystitis appear from the beginning of regular intimate relationships, greatly overshadowing them, and sometimes the relationship in general.

  • The main reason is the exchange of microflora between partners, and Escherichia coli is a frequent pathogen. [5]

Non-specific prevention of postcoital cystitis is as follows:

  1. Careful hygiene before and after intercourse.
  2. Mandatory evacuation before coitus.
  3. Use of non-irritating contraceptives.
  4. Exclusion of hypothermia.
  5. Replacing tampons with pads.
  6. Drinking up to 2 liters of drink during the next day.
  7. Avoiding douches, spermicides, panty liners and synthetic underwear.
  • Specific prophylaxis of cystitis is carried out on an individual basis.

Uroantiseptics with cranberry extract,  [6] immunostimulants are used. Antibiotics are of limited use due to the high risk of side effects and dysbiosis.

When anatomical defects are found, surgical correction is performed, which is highly effective. Preventive measures in this case are not offered. Usually, dissection of the hymenurethral adhesions or transposition of the urethra is done. If a woman refuses to undergo an operation, they turn to antibiotics. [7]

Treatment of the genitals for the prevention of cystitis

It is somehow not customary to speak out loud about the delicate issues of preventing cystitis caused by intimate relationships. Previously, there was nowhere to read. This is probably why many women, namely they suffer from cystitis most often, did not even suspect that the problem could be prevented with their own hands.

  • Proper treatment of the genitals to prevent cystitis prevents many problems, including inflammation of various organs.

This happens because the absolute leadership among the causes of cystitis belongs to Escherichia coli. According to various sources - from 75 to 95% of cases. The reason for this phenomenon is recognized that the female urethra is wide and short, located near the vagina and anus, where natural sources of infection are located.

  • Ignoring intimate hygiene leads to the fact that the common pathogen enters the bladder, where it actively multiplies and affects the walls with an inflammatory process.

The woman begins to feel a pulling pain in the lower abdomen, the desire to visit the toilet becomes constant, and urination is painful and does not give relief. The urine becomes cloudy, darker, smells unpleasant, sometimes blood is noticeable in it.

To avoid cystitis, women should take preventive measures:

  • Wash more often, change linen.
  • During your period, change your tampons or pads every time you go to the toilet.
  • Carefully observe hygiene measures when having sex. A shower is required.
  • To wash off dirt and harmful microflora with means that do not violate the natural microflora of female organs. In the course of cystitis, one should refrain from intimate relationships.

Go to the toilet immediately after intercourse to rinse off dangerous bacteria with urine. Drinking plenty of fluids promotes the active formation of urine and the elimination of bacteria. It is extremely important to treat gynecological infections promptly so that pathogens do not have time to enter the urethra.

Poor quality linen irritates the skin and disrupts local blood circulation, which can also lead to the growth of microbes. By buying hygiene items, a woman prevents the problem.

Medicines for the prevention of cystitis

The development of chronic cystitis and complications, up to bladder sclerosis, occurs in a third of patients who first encounter this problem. It is clear why drugs for the prevention of cystitis are very important: it is better (and cheaper!) To prevent any disease once than to get rid of it many times in various ways.

Conventionally, there are three groups of actions for the prevention of cystitis: behavioral, medication, folk.

  • Objectively, the advantages of the drug option are that official drugs have been studied and tested clinically, methods and dosages for their use have been created.

Prophylactic administration of pharmaceuticals is usually designed for a long time. Their choice is made by a specialist, taking into account the specific situation. Together with factors such as behavior change and the use of alternative medicine recommendations, a person can live in peace, without fear of recurrence of cystitis.

  • Drug prophylaxis is carried out by several groups: antibiotics, immuno- and phytopreparations, bacteriophages, probiotics, intravesical instillations. [8]

However, no one guarantees that prevention will work "100%". Low doses of antibiotics are effective, but no one will prescribe them all the time because it is dangerous. Plant-based preparations are less dangerous, but there is no reliable and confirmed information on their effectiveness in this context. [9]

Tablets for the prevention of cystitis

Conventionally, tablets for the prevention of cystitis are divided into herbal and antibiotics. Both groups are assigned to both men and women. The second group is used in the case of an infectious nature of the disease and the occurrence of complications.

  • Effective antibiotics include monural, nolitsin, nevigramon, furadonin, furagin, nitroxoline, palin, rulid.

The expediency of their appointment is determined using urine analysis, which will show the presence of the pathogen and the resistance of a particular strain to a particular antibiotic. After therapy, a second urine test is performed. This ensures the prevention of cystitis and recurrence in the future.

  • Herbal remedies can help mainly in the initial stages of the disease.

In the future, they are prescribed in combination with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial drugs. Cyston, uvax, monurel, kanefron, phytolysin - these are herbal preparations that have proven their effectiveness.

It is necessary to treat cystitis immediately, having found its first signs. As a rule, the doctor first suggests solving the problem with herbal preparations. If the inflammation is suppressed or progresses, antibiotics will not do without. Successful treatment and prevention also depend on the patient's care for personal hygiene, diet and drinking regimen.

Furadonin

Treatment and prevention of cystitis with tablets has a number of advantages. They are quickly absorbed by the body and enter the blood and lymph, blocking the spread of pathogens and the growth of the focus of inflammation.

  • Furadonin for the prevention of cystitis is valuable in that it acts on the disease-causing and is quite safe for healthy microflora.

When treated with this remedy, patients increase immunity and the rate of regeneration, which is important for the restoration of inflamed tissues of the bladder.

Furadonin is taken according to the instructions or according to the scheme suggested by the doctor. In particular, with a prophylactic purpose, 100 mg of the drug is drunk at night on the eve of the planned manipulations in the area of the bladder. It is important to do it right: during meals, without chewing, but with a glass or more water. It is water, and not another drink.

  • For most types of pathology, furadonin is the ideal solution to the problem.

On one condition: the treatment must be completed. If the course is interrupted immediately after the disappearance of especially annoying symptoms, then the remainder of the bacteria can cause a relapse. It is because of the careless attitude towards the medical discipline that some patients consider this medicine insufficiently effective in the fight against cystitis. [10]

Kanephron

For the prevention of cystitis and other urinary tract infections, the drug Kanefron with medicinal herbs will be effectively used. It is a well-studied and successfully used medicine. It contains extracts of centaury, lovage, rosemary, the combined action of which has a complex effect on the kidneys and urinary tract. [11]

  • The asset of the phytopreparation is many years of experience in urology, softness and effectiveness of the effect. [12]

Kanephron is indicated for the treatment of chronic renal pathologies of a non-infectious nature. It also enhances the effectiveness of antibiotics. [13]

Kanephron for the prevention of cystitis is easily tolerated by patients and can be used for long courses, as well as in the treatment of children and pregnant women. For this purpose, it is produced in drops and dragees. During the period of bearing a child, it has the following effect:

  • relieves symptoms;
  • normalizes urine indicators;
  • reduces the likelihood of relapse;
  • destroys the causative agents of cystitis;
  • reduces swelling.

Doctors have not recorded cases of negative effects of this drug on the health of the expectant mother and fetus. However, every woman in a position should understand that the best way to maintain the health of a child is to protect herself from colds and other diseases that force her to use medications, because even the safest of them can harm the fetus. [14]

Monural

The drug Monural belongs to a new generation of drugs. It works powerfully and quickly, but only for the first time. A 3 gram sachet relieves the patient of many of the symptoms typical of cystitis.

  • With repeated use, the result is not so impressive: there is an addictive effect.

The effectiveness for the treatment and prevention of cystitis is explained by the pharmacological properties of the drug: bactericidal, bacteriostatic, antiadhesive. The substance is rapidly absorbed and has a long half-life. The high content is kept only in urine, and 95% of the drug is excreted with it. The peak concentration occurs 3-4 hours after taking the drug, the bactericidal concentration lasts for 3 days. At the same time, it is possible to avoid dysbiosis and the formation of resistant forms of the pathogen.

  • Monural for the prevention of cystitis also helps to prevent not only relapse, but also complications, the most frequent of which is pyelonephritis.

Kidney damage poses a direct threat to the patient's life. The risk of kidney infection exists in both acute and chronic forms of bladder inflammation. Launched cystitis is much more difficult to treat than with timely detection and initiation of therapy. Monural does it super fast - in just one day.

Cyston

The urethra in women is much wider than in men, moreover, it is shorter. In connection with such structural features, the fair sex suffers from cystitis more often than the strong one: it is more convenient for bacteria and viruses to "travel" a short wide path than a long and long one.

  • Therefore, it is advisable to know about the prevention of cystitis for every woman who cares about her health.

Already the first symptoms should alert: frequent urge and pain during emptying, discomfort in the lumbar region, back, pubis. Various reasons can cause the disease: from banal hypothermia to personal uncleanliness, including moral, when a person is irresponsible about sexual intercourse. [15]

  • Cyston for the prevention of cystitis is prescribed by a doctor in combination with drugs of a different orientation.

This is a herbal remedy that allows you to "save" on antibiotics, that is, to reduce their dose during an exacerbation. It helps dissolve stones, protects against their re-formation, relieves pain and inflammation, and supports wall regeneration. For preventive purposes, the drug is indicated before the start of the season of respiratory viral infections. Its use improves the prognosis for infections occurring in the genitourinary system. [16]

Along with medication, preventive actions should be taken by the patients themselves: to dress in natural linen, appropriate for the season, weather and size of clothing, to strengthen their health. And pay special attention to personal hygiene.

Furamag

Furamag in capsules is used to treat infectious inflammation of the urinary organs, skin, severe burns, and gynecological infections. It is also prescribed for the prevention of cystitis or other recurrent infections, as well as for urological operations, catheterization, cytoscopy.

  • When using furamag for the prevention of cystitis, you should be prepared for changes in the color of urine: it becomes brown or a rich yellow hue.

This is one of the side effects that can be avoided by drinking plenty of fluids. Sometimes it is necessary to take B vitamins and antihistamines. It is possible to prevent undesirable effects on the part of digestion if you take furamag with food, drinking plenty of water. Refuse from the drug should be in the event that the side effects are pronounced or there is a reaction that is not specified in the instructions. This is another reason not to self-medicate, and this recommendation applies not only to furamaga.

The prophylactic dosage for adults is one 50 mg capsule once daily. If, for some reason, the patient missed this appointment, you cannot "compensate" for it with a double dose the next day. It is enough to take the next capsule on time, without overloading the body with "shock doses" unnecessarily.

Phytolysin

Phytolysin is created according to a unique recipe, from 9 useful herbs and 4 essential oils. It is produced by a Polish company specializing in herbal medicines. For the prevention of cystitis, the drug is presented in the form of a paste soluble in warm water. Fast action is achieved by dissolving 1 teaspoon of the product in half a glass of sweet water. [17]

  • The manufacturer advises adding honey or sugar to the solution, but many patients find the taste to be quite acceptable and even pleasant.

A greenish-brown mass, strongly smelling of herbs, with notes of essential oils, consists of the active ingredients of the following herbs:

  • goldenrod;
  • field horsetail;
  • wheatgrass;
  • knotweed;
  • parsley root;
  • lovage;
  • birch leaves;
  • fenugreek seeds;
  • onion husks.

Essential oils - pine, mint, sage, orange. The manufacturer achieves the desired consistency thanks to agar-agar, starch, glycerin.

Phytolysin exhibits medicinal qualities not as a mono-drug, but in combination with other means of complex therapy. Acts gently, not addictive. Enhances the action of other drugs.

In addition to phytolysin , cranberries are effectively used to prevent cystitis . [18] If there are risks, antibiotic prophylaxis is performed before any invasive urological intervention. With relapses of cystitis, forced urine emission is required after each sexual intercourse.

Furagin

The drug for the prevention of cystitis belongs to antibiotics, effective against the most resistant strains of pathogenic bacteria.

  • Furagin acts even on those pathogens that have acquired resistance to antibiotics and sulfonamides. It is effective only for inflammation of an infectious nature. [19]

Furagin for the prevention of cystitis and its treatment is used in the combination of cystitis with pyelonephritis, urethritis, pelvic infections, as well as in preparation for operations - urological and gynecological. To improve the effectiveness of treatment, the patient should follow a protein diet and not drink alcohol. Alcohol causes nausea, tachycardia, dizziness, heart pain. Cramps may even appear.

  • It is known that it is easier to provide prevention than then to cure cystitis and all other diseases. Doctors often talk about this, but we do not always adhere to their advice.

And they are quite simple and affordable. A healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition, barrier methods of contraception, timely treatment of genitourinary infections practically guarantees the prevention of cystitis. Completes the prevention of general improvement and strengthening of the body's defenses. [20]

Nitroxoline

One of the most affordable drugs is nitroxoline for the prevention of cystitis, as well as for the treatment of pyelonephritis, urethritis, and prostatitis. These are broad-spectrum antimicrobial and antiprotozoal tablets for the elimination of infections, primarily of the urinary tract. It is used to treat adult patients and children with various diseases, and not only for the prevention of cystitis and various complications. Nitroxoline , with the help of an enzyme complex, prevents the growth of pathogenic microorganisms. At the same time, healthy tissues are not affected. [21]

  • Due to the bright yellow and orange shell, urine and feces become saffron-colored when pills are taken. Tongue staining is possible.

The standard course is 2-3 weeks: if the problem is not eliminated, a two-week break is taken, then the nitroxoline intake is resumed. For the prevention of infections, the recommended dose is 100 ml 4 times daily. [22]

A high concentration of the active substance is observed precisely in the urine, the maximum is within the first two hours after use.

  • For the sake of objectivity, it should be noted that the drug is quite popular, but not well understood.

They write about the likelihood of cumulation and toxic effects in premature infants, pediatric and older patients. At risk are pregnant and lactating women, people with diseases of the nervous system. An abundance of contraindications and side effects are also noted. Perhaps that is why nitroxoline is banned in many countries. [23]

Urolesan

In the instructions for using urolesan for the prevention of cystitis, it is said that with a recurrent disease it can be drunk for a long time, up to six months. The drug is used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases caused by infection; for the prevention of cystitis and kidney stones, urolesan is also suitable. It relieves spasm of smooth muscles, prevents stagnation and the likelihood of urinary tract infection, promotes diuresis, and gently soothes.

  • In the same way, the drug acts on the biliary tract: it activates bile formation, creates an acidic environment that is detrimental to microorganisms.

Urolesan is produced in alcohol drops, syrup and capsules, inside of which there is a herbal powder. The composition of the preparation is as follows: oils - peppermint, castor, fir; alcohol extracts - oregano, mother, wild carrot seeds, hop cones. The dosage and course of treatment is determined by the doctor, depending on age, weight, diagnosis, stage of the disease, and the presence of other health problems.

With cystitis, urolesan is prescribed along with antispasmodics and antibacterial agents. The peculiarity is that the remedy is indicated both in the acute period and for the prevention of the threat of relapse during the chronic course of the process. With frequent exacerbations, urolesan is used for a rather long time, up to 6 months. [24]

Suppositories for the prevention of cystitis

Medical suppositories for the prevention of cystitis are prescribed for women of "transitional age", when the concentration of estrogens in the body decreases. Intimate paths are made dry, microcracks form in them, through which infections easily penetrate.

In connection with these features, for the prevention of cystitis in mature women, local preparations with estrogens are used, for example, the hormonal suppositories Estriol. Hormones restore mucous membranes, normalize microflora, and this helps prevent recurrence of inflammation. [25]

Suppositories for cystitis are vaginal and rectal. The latter variety can be used not only by adult women with sexual experience, but also by girls and men. Ideally, every medicine, including preventive medicine, should be prescribed by a qualified healthcare provider. Nevertheless, some recommendations when choosing suppositories will come in handy in any case.

  • Diclofenac has a strong effect on the body, so similar drugs cannot be used without consulting a doctor.
  • Pain relievers suppositories only mask the problem, not solve it.
  • With cystitis, provoked by hypothermia, anti-inflammatory are used, with an infectious version - antiviral, with bacterial - a suppository with antibiotics.

Treatment of the chronic form, between relapses, suppositories with natural ingredients are better; their strength lies in the effective healing of the mucosal surface and strengthening of local immunity.

Alternative remedies for the prevention of cystitis

Correct treatment and prevention of cystitis successfully resists relapses and associated discomfort. Much depends on the patient personally: behavior, nutrition, lifestyle, attitude to their health.

  • Alternative means for the prevention of cystitis are not only teas, decoctions, fruit drinks, but also the rejection of junk food, drinks and habits.

A negligent attitude to clothing and hygiene, the abuse of spicy foods, alcoholic and invigorating drinks serves a disservice, first of all, to the kidneys and the entire excretory system.

  • The decay products formed after the assimilation of food pass through the kidneys. If they irritate the bladder, then this contributes to the development of the inflammatory process.

This list includes too spicy, spicy, salty dishes. The diet should not contain a lot of protein, which overloads the kidneys and retains fluid. Prevention of cystitis is facilitated by light food: soups, vegetables, citrus fruits, berries, melons, known for their diuretic properties.

  • An important component of the diet is clean water.

It reduces the concentration of urine, irritating the inflamed bladder walls, washes away the pathogenic microflora from them, and this speeds up recovery. The best drink is the famous cranberry juice, fresh juices, compotes, weak teas without sugar are suitable. At the same time, strong tea, coffee, alcoholic beverages only exacerbate the problem.

  • During an exacerbation, a person should be warm, with a heating pad in the lower abdomen.

Put on warm natural linen, wash after each visit to the toilet. This prevents inflammation from spreading to the genitals. It is advisable to use urological pads: they protect against urine leakage and skin irritation. [26]

Prevention of cystitis with herbs

Patients with chronic inflammation should pay attention not only to treatment, but also to the prevention of cystitis. Otherwise, instead of enjoying life, a person suffers from its poor quality and constant discomfort. There are special urological preparations, that is, herbal mixtures that are effective both for the treatment and for the prevention of cystitis with herbs. Herbal raw materials can be collected and selected independently, taking into account their effect. So, medicinal herbs should have the following properties:

  • enveloping;
  • anti-inflammatory;
  • diuretic;
  • antiseptic.

This action is possessed not by just a select few, but by whole groups of plants, so there are many options for collecting. With hemorrhagic cystitis, when blood cells appear in the urine, hemostatic and healing herbs are included in the mixture.

  • The composition of the collection includes 5-7 herbs, equally divided by each, pre-chopped for better infusion.

Usually they take 1 st. Spoon of raw materials of each type, prepare decoctions or infusions for internal use. In addition, local baths are used for pain relief and anti-inflammatory action.

  • To prepare the broth, the herb or the collection is poured into boiling water, boiled for 15 minutes. And cooled. A useful collection consists of birch, nettle, yarrow, chamomile, licorice, lingonberry (or bearberry).
  • The infusions are cooked longer, without boiling.

The best dish for this process is a thermos, where the raw materials are placed and filled with boiling water. An infusion against cystitis is prepared from bearberry, plantain leaves and seeds. It is convenient to make a portion for the next day in the evening.

  • For baths, juniper, yarrow, aspen bark are suitable, a potent ingredient - celandine, which should not be taken orally.

A sitz bath is prepared from the broth in a container sufficient for the water to cover the bladder area.

The preventive effect against cystitis is enhanced by the addition of echinacea, Ivan tea, lemongrass, hawthorn, eleutherococcus to the composition of the collection. These plants have immunomodulatory and prophylactic properties.

Teas for the prevention of cystitis

The drinking regimen is very important for pathologies of the excretory organs. Quality water and light teas for the prevention of cystitis are part of therapy and prevention of recurrent exacerbations. Self-medication is not encouraged, treatment should be prescribed by a doctor. However, herbal drinks are a good way to prevent inflammation in general, that is, to prevent cystitis as such.

Pharmacists offer renal ready-made drinks. You can also buy loose ingredients to mix them yourself. Useful herbs in this case are calamus, barberry, marshmallow, St. John's wort, oregano, parsley, blueberry, horsetail, thyme, dill, etc.

  • Bearberry can be brewed separately, and this tea will be highly effective for problems with the bladder, kidneys, other organs of this system and digestion. [27]

Anyone who loves to deal with herbs himself should know the rules for preparing and storing a healing potion: rinse and finely chop it before drying. Tea for cystitis is prepared from several components or on the basis of one potent plant. A drink that is not too concentrated is useful, approximately in a ratio of 1:10. The standard time for brewing tea is half an hour, in some cases - up to an hour.

A popular ready-made nephro-tea made from several ingredients is drunk before meals, chilled. The effect is ensured by the correct dosage and administration regimen. In particular, it should be drunk daily at the same hours throughout the course.

All diseases are unpleasant, and cystitis is also insidious, because it tends to frequent repetitions. Prevention of cystitis is completely in the hands of a person. Hygiene, proper clothing, adherence to thermal conditions, physical activity and aversion to bad habits are actions available to everyone. In difficult cases, alternative and pharmaceutical remedies recommended by doctors come to the rescue.
