Urolesan drop solution is a well-known herbal remedy used for urological diseases.

Indications Urolesana

Urolesan liquid is often prescribed:

  • in acute and chronic stages of bacterial kidney diseases and pathologies of the urinary system;
  • in the formation of kidney stones and uric acid diathesis;
  • in chronic inflammation of the gallbladder and stones in the biliary system;
  • for biliary dyskinesia.

Urolesan can be used to treat and prevent the formation of stones in the biliary system and kidneys.

Release form

Urolesan is a solution used in the form of drops for internal use. The solution has a brownish or greenish tint and a specific mint aroma.

The composition of Urolesan is represented by a large number of plant components:

  • fir, mint, castor oils;
  • extracts from carrot seeds, hops, and oregano.

Urolesan is packaged in 25 ml dropper-dosing bottles. Each bottle is packed in a cardboard box.

Pharmacodynamics

Urolesan is a combination herbal medicine. The herbal ingredients are selected in such a way that in combination with each other they slow down the growth of the inflammatory process in the urinary system and kidneys, improve blood circulation in the kidneys and liver.

Urolesan has a pronounced diuretic, antimicrobial, choleretic effect, and also creates a protective shell along the urinary tract and stabilizes the smooth muscle tone of the upper urinary tract and gallbladder.

Urolesan potentiates the excretion of urea and chloride compounds, accelerates the removal of small stones and sand from the urinary system and kidneys.

Pharmacokinetics

Urolesan and the main ingredients of the medicinal liquid are well absorbed in the digestive system. The effect of the medicine is detected 20-30 minutes after its use, and can last up to five hours.

The maximum possible effect of Urolesan is observed after about an hour and a half. The drug is excreted through the digestive system and kidneys.

Dosing and administration

Urolesan drops should be taken before meals.

Adult patients are recommended to drip 8-10 drops onto a piece of refined sugar (if sugar is prohibited, then you can drip onto a bread crumb), consume three times a day. During renal or hepatic colic, a single dose can be from 15 to 20 drops.

The duration of the course of therapy is about a week, and for chronic pathologies - from one week to four weeks.

In childhood (from seven to 14 years) it is recommended to take 5 drops of Urolesan with sugar or bread, three times a day. The duration of administration is determined by the pediatrician individually.

Children under seven years of age should be prescribed Urolesan in the form of syrup.

Use Urolesana during pregnancy

To date, there is no information on the possibility of using Urolesan by pregnant and lactating patients, since studies on this matter have not been conducted. Given this, one should refrain from Urolesan therapy during the listed periods of bearing and breastfeeding a baby.

Contraindications

The doctor will not prescribe Urolesan:

  • in case of hypersensitivity to the components of Urolesan;
  • for diseases of the digestive system (inflammatory reactions in the stomach, stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers).

It is not recommended to take Urolesan to children who have previously been diagnosed with seizures.

Side effects Urolesana

Most patients tolerate Urolesan treatment well. However, taking the medication may be accompanied by:

  • dyspepsia (nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain);
  • allergies (itching, redness of the skin, swelling, burning in the mouth);
  • dizziness, weakness, trembling in the limbs, headaches;
  • decrease or increase in blood pressure, slowing of heart rate.

Overdose

In case of overdose of Urolesan nausea (up to vomiting), abdominal pain, dizziness may occur.

If an overdose is suspected, the patient should drink a large amount of warm liquid and lie down if possible. Additionally, a sorbent (for example, activated carbon) can be taken.

In severe cases, atropine sulfate is used.

Interactions with other drugs

The possibility of drug interactions with Urolesan has not been studied.
