Pulmicort is a potent drug with an active ingredient from the pharmacological group of glucocorticosteroids. Because of this, the drug has a number of contraindications, so it is used only for medical purposes.

- Indications for use: bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The drug is not intended for the relief of acute attacks of bronchial asthma. For these purposes, should use short-acting bronchodilator drugs.
- Method of application: inhalation using a nebulizer or a dosed device. Adults and children over 12 years old are prescribed 1-2 mg 2 times a day, for patients from 12 months to 12 years, 0.25-0.5 mg 2 times a day. The duration of therapy is determined by the attending physician.
- Contraindications: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, patients under 12 months of life. Use during pregnancy and lactation is possible only under strict medical indications.
- Overdose: when the dosage prescribed by the doctor is prolonged, a systemic GCS effect and suppression of adrenal function develop. For treatment, a gradual reduction in dosage until complete withdrawal of the drug is indicated.

Budesonide
Glucocorticoid for local and inhalation use. Budesonide has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects. After inhalation, a pronounced clinical effect develops within 5-7 days of a course of therapy.
- Indications for use: asthmatic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, inflammation of the nasal mucosa, seasonal and allergic rhinitis. Used to prevent nasal polyps after surgical removal.
- Method of application: inhalation, for adults, 400-1600 mg per day for 2-4 doses, then 200-400 mg for 2 times a day. The dosage for children and the duration of treatment are determined by the attending physician.
- Side effects: oral candidiasis and throat, hoarseness, throat irritation. To prevent the development of stomatitis, after each inhalation rinse your mouth with warm water.
- Contraindications: individual intolerance to the components of the drug, viral diseases of the respiratory organs and skin, tuberculosis. Use during pregnancy and lactation is possible under strict medical indications.

Budesonide in powder form for inhalation. Tafen has an anti-inflammatory effect on the mucous membrane of the bronchi, reduces their hyper-reactivity and restores respiration.
- Indications for use: bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other pathologies of the upper respiratory tract.
- Method of application: inhalation of 200-1600 mg / day, the average daily dose of 400 mg for adults. For children prescribed 200-400 mg per day. The course of treatment is long and is monitored by the attending physician.
- Side effects: sneezing and coughing, throat irritation, loss of smell, dizziness, dryness of the oral mucous membranes, allergic rashes, increased anxiety, angioedema, stomatitis.

Dosed aerosol for inhalation with the active ingredient budesonide. It belongs to the pharmacological group of glucocorticoids. It is used to treat and prevent bronchopulmonary diseases.
- Indications for use: bronchial asthma, COPD.
- Method of application: the drug is used for inhalation using a spacer or nebulizer. Procedures are recommended to be carried out twice a day - in the morning before meals and in the evening before bedtime. The dosage for adults is 200 mcg 2 times a day, for children over 6 years old, 50-400 mcg twice a day. After achieving the desired therapeutic effect, the dose is reduced to the minimum effective.
- Contraindications: intolerance to the components of the drug, the active form of pulmonary tuberculosis, the first trimeter of pregnancy, respiratory infections of the fungal or viral etiology, asthmatic status, frequent and severe bronchospasms, patients younger than 6 years.
- Adverse reactions: hoarseness, dry throat and cough, mycosis of the pharynx and larynx. To prevent these symptoms, rinse your mouth with warm water after each inhalation.
- Overdose: with long-term use of high doses, systemic effects develop: growth retardation in children, decrease in bone mineral density, cataract, glaucoma, and adrenal suppression.
