Release form

The processes occurring with the drug after application are due to the interaction of its components. The pharmacokinetics of vitamin D indicates its absorption in the small intestine. Calcium is absorbed in ionized form in the proximal part of the intestine due to the active D-vitamin-dependent transport mechanism.

Active substances are subject to double hydroxylation: in the liver with 25-hydroxycolecularciferol (calciferol) and renal tubules with active metabolite - 1,125 dihydroxyvitamin D3 (calcitriol).

Dosing and administration

Ides prescribe with a deficiency of calcium in the body. The method of administration and dose is prescribed by the attending physician. Tablets are taken orally regardless of food intake. Capsules can be chewed or rasasyvat. For adults and teenagers, the daily dosage is 2 tablets, for pregnant women - not more than 1 pc. In a day.

Contraindications

Side effects of the ideos

If the conditions of the instruction and medical recommendations for the use of the product are not observed, side effects occur. Most often these are disorders of the digestive system: diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, nausea and vomiting, painful sensations in the epigastric region.

In rare cases, there are allergic reactions and an increase in the level of calcium in the blood and urine.

Overdose

Prolonged use of Ideos and excess of prescribed dosages cause painful symptoms. In case of an overdose, patients complain of nausea and vomiting, constipation, flatulence, thirst.

Chronic overdose can provoke tissue / vascular calcification through hypercalcemia. To eliminate unpleasant symptoms it is necessary to stop taking medicine and rehydration.

To prevent an overdose, it is recommended to take into account additional sources of vitamin D3 and avoid additional vitamin complexes that contain calcium and vitamin D.

Interactions with other drugs

In complex therapy of calcium deficiency and osteoporosis, Ideos can interact with other drugs.

• With simultaneous application with vitamin A, the toxicity of vitamin D decreases.
• Barbiturates, phenytoin and glucocorticosteroids decrease the effectiveness of Ideos.
• Glucocorticoids reduce the absorption of calcium.
• Kolestyramin and laxatives reduce the absorption of vitamin D3.
• The vitamin means lowers the level of absorption of Sodium Fluoride and Bio-phosphates, so when using them, you must observe the time interval (at least 2 hours).
• Reduces the absorption of antibiotics from the tetracycline group. To prevent this effect, the drugs are taken at an interval of 3 hours.
• It increases the toxicity of cardiac glycosides, therefore ECG monitoring and the clinical state of the patient are required.
• When used with thiazide diuretics, there is a risk of hypercalcemia.
• Furosemide increases the period of excretion of calcium by the kidneys.

Storage conditions

Tablets should be kept in their original packaging, protected from moisture, sunlight and inaccessible to children. The temperature should not be above 25 ° C. Compliance with storage conditions prevents premature spoilage of Ideos.

Shelf life

Ideos should be used within 36 months from the release date (indicated on the packaging). After the expiration date, it is disposed of. The medication is allowed to be used as an over-the-counter medication.
