Pharmacodynamics

Antimicrobial range of the drug Nadoxin affects aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms, gram (+) and gram (-) bacteria. Nadoxin not only depresses the vital activity of microbes, but also causes their death.

The active component of the drug suppresses the DNA-gyrase, which participates in the production and renewal of bacterial cell DNA. This helps to block the function of multiplication of microorganisms.

Nadoxin is active against staphylococcal strains that exhibit resistance to fluoroquinolone derivatives. Does not detect cross-resistance with other representatives of the quinolone series.

Pharmacokinetics

The penetration of the active component into the systemic circulation through the surface layers of the skin is minimal. After a single application, serum levels may be approximately 1.7 ng / ml. With repeated applications, a stable content of the drug is observed, which on the fifth day of therapy can be 4.1 ng / ml.

The half-life is slightly longer than 23 hours.

The removal of the active ingredient from the body is carried out through the urinary system.

Dosing and administration

Nadoxin is distributed by a thin layer on the necessary skin areas in the morning and at night.

In the treatment of acne eruptions the drug is applied immediately after cleansing the face, on dry skin.

With average otitis Nadoxin is applied to cotton turuns, which are put into the ear.

The duration of the treatment course can be from 7 to 10 days. If the doctor considers it appropriate, the treatment can be extended for another week.

Nadoxin is used only as an external agent. If the cream gets into the eyes or mucous membranes, then it is recommended to rinse them immediately with warm water.

If the effect of the drug is not obtained within five days, it should be replaced with another one.
