The main active substance is the roots of the Kalgan. The form of release is presented by the crushed kind of raw material and a large powder.
The physico-chemical properties of the crushed agent is a yellowish color with a red, brown tinge, up to a dark brown color. The rhizome is ground into pieces of various sizes, but not exceeding 7 mm in diameter.
The smell is almost invisible, but pleasant, the taste is highly astringent. The form of the release in the form of a powder is represented by pieces of the rhizome of the same color, but with the size of the pieces 4 times smaller (about 2 mm). Smell and taste similar to a coarse-grained agent.
In connection with the different form of release of the drug, it is necessary to distinguish the packaging of the medicine. So, the crushed 7 mm raw material is contained in one package, 50 g or 75 g, which is packed in a pack.
Finely divided rhizomes resembling a powder with a particle diameter of 2 mm are packaged according to filter packs of 3 g in an amount of 20 pieces in one package.
Pharmacodynamics
The plant belongs to a group of medicines that have their effect on the digestive system and metabolic processes. Due to its natural composition, in particular biologically active substances, the drugs have astringent, antibacterial, hemostatic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Pharmacodynamics Kalgan provides an anti-inflammatory effect by reducing the permeability of the walls of blood vessels and their narrowing. As a result, the liquid part of the blood lingers in the lumen of the vessel and does not enter the tissue. Thus, puffiness of surrounding tissues, intensity of hyperemia decreases and the severity of pain syndrome decreases.
With the help of Kalgan, the chances of coping with bleeding gums and an unpleasant odor from the oral cavity increase. By regular rinses and lotions, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and hemostatic action is provided.
Pharmacodynamics Kalgan allows you to use the drug in inflammatory diseases of the larynx, in particular, angina. With the help of rinses, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory action is provided.

Pharmacokinetics
Kalgan is widely used in the pathology of the stomach and other organs of the digestive tract. Its beneficial effect is due to the presence in the drug of a tannin - catechin, which affects the muscle layer of the stomach, removing spasms and restoring physiological motility.
The pharmacokinetics of Kalgan is also carried out by glycosides, flavonoids, resins, cinchona and ellagic acids and essential oils. As for flobbaphene, it has an antibacterial effect that is used in all areas of medicine.
A whole complex of therapeutic effects of Kalgan is observed in action due to the presence of micro- and macro elements (zinc, copper, selenium), crystalline ether, tormentin and saponins, which are derivatives of α-amirin and tormentol.
Rhizomes are known for their vasoconstrictive, membrane-stabilizing effect, as well as normalizing the digestive process.
Dosing and administration
Depending on the form of release and the composition of the drug, the method of administration and dose also vary. First, it is necessary to consider the use of large chopped rhizomes, which are stored in one package. They should be dosed alone with a measuring spoon.
To prepare the tincture, you need to pour 15 grams of crushed rhizomes into a glass of hot boiled water and cover tightly with a lid. Next half an hour you need to insist on a water bath, then filter and remove the present rhizomes.
The resulting broth should be brought to a volume of 200 ml with boiled water. Use should be for half an hour before a meal of 15 ml adults up to 5 times a day for a month.
The way of application and the dose of finely chopped rhizomes with a diameter of 2 mm is much simpler, since the medicinal product is already packaged in sachets of 3 g. So, 2 filter sachets should be lowered into a mug with boiling water (100 ml), cover and insist for about half an hour. Take should be the same as a large rhizome.
As for childhood, it is rational for them to use a decoction preparation for gargling with inflammation of the larynx and tonsils.
