Calendoderm is a natural medicine, the main component of which is calendula extract. Thanks to its natural healing properties, the cream has received a huge set of useful substances that promote human recovery.
The main therapeutic actions inherent in calendula are considered to be anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and analgesic effects. The medicinal product in the form of a cream is widely used in dermatology to activate the regenerative capabilities of the skin and accelerate the process of restoring its integrity.
The medicine belongs to a pharmacological group that includes homeopathic medicines. They are used for therapeutic purposes for various skin diseases and damage to its integrity as a result of exposure to a traumatic factor (temperature, sun, physical or chemical).
Calendoderm is an effective wound healing agent with anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effects. With their help, rapid growth of new cells and reduction of the wound surface are observed.
Indications Calendoderm
Based on the presence of healing properties in this drug, several groups of pathologies can be identified, the cause of the development of which can be various factors.
Thus, indications for the use of Calendoderm are skin diseases with the formation of pustules. The therapeutic effect in this case is due to the antiseptic property of the drug. Due to the sanitation of the lesion, a decrease in the intensity of the inflammatory process and an acceleration of the regeneration processes of skin cells are observed.
In addition, it is worth highlighting the effectiveness of the drug in relation to various damages to the integrity of the skin as a result of injury or disruption of local blood circulation (bedsores). Indications for the use of Calendoderm also include burns of the skin (solar, thermal), as well as frostbite.
It is important not to forget about the effect of the drug on blood vessels. Thus, with varicose veins, a decrease in the manifestation of the vascular network is observed due to an increase in the tone of the blood vessel wall and narrowing of the vessels.
As a softening agent, Calenderm is effective in the presence of rough skin on the heels and other areas of the sole. It is recommended to use the cream as a poultice. During the entire course of application of the cream, the skin becomes softer and "cracks" do not occur on the heels.
Release form
Due to the fact that the medicine is used to restore the skin, therefore the most effective effect in this case is local application of the medicine. The release form is presented as a cream. Due to its consistency, the medicine is well applied to damaged skin, completely covering it.
The main physical and chemical properties are represented by a soft consistency, smooth to the touch - without lumps and grains. The light beige color has a shiny shade.
In terms of the main active ingredient, the cream contains 1 g of calendula (matrix tincture) per 10 g of the drug. Of the auxiliary components, it is worth highlighting the preservative benzyl alcohol, thick paraffin, purified water, cetyl alcohol, self-emulsifying di- and monostearate of ethylene glycol, isopropyl myristate, complex of octadecyl heptanoate and octadecyl octanoate, as well as potassium hydroxide in the form of a solution.
The cream covers the skin well, forming a protective layer. As the components of the drug penetrate into the thickness of the skin, the pathological focus is sanitized and the inflammatory reaction gradually decreases.
Pharmacodynamics
Due to the herbal composition, the pharmacodynamics of Calendoderm does not act very quickly, but gradually achieves certain positive results.
When using the drug, the pharmacodynamics of Calendoderm ensures a decrease in the activity of the inflammatory reaction in tissues, and also restores the structure of damaged skin.
It is necessary to note the ability of the drug to stop minor bleeding, reduce the intensity of pain in fresh wounds or in areas of skin with a chronic ulcer.
With its ability to disinfect a wound, Calendoderm is well suited for cleansing the lesion from purulent masses. The medicine effectively restores the skin in case of burns, both solar and thermal, as well as frostbite.
The consistency of the cream allows you to completely cover the required area of skin. It is worth paying attention to the effect of the drug in the fight against dry skin, in particular with cracks in rough skin on the heels.

Pharmacokinetics
The effect on the inflammatory process is achieved by narrowing the blood vessels, reducing the permeability of their walls, which in turn slows down the exit of the liquid part of the blood plasma from the lumen of the vessel into the tissue. Thus, swelling is reduced.
In addition, there is a decrease in pressure from edematous tissues on nerve endings, thereby reducing the intensity of the pain syndrome. By blocking biological factors, the inflammatory focus becomes local and gradually narrows.
The pharmacokinetics of Calendoderm is due to the ability of the drug to stimulate the growth and reproduction of cells, increasing the amount of granulation tissue. As it forms, it fills the defects in the skin.
As a result, the lesion is restored with new tissue, which prevents the infection from penetrating into the deep layers of the skin. In addition, it is worth noting that Calendoderm is an antiseptic, which also helps the human immune system cope with the infectious agent.
Purulent wounds are also sanitized thanks to the preparation, which accelerates the process of granulation formation and healing of the skin. This applies not only to wounds caused by a traumatic factor, but also to those formed as a result of insufficient local blood circulation.
Dosing and administration
Depending on the stage of skin damage, its duration and depth, it is necessary to control the quantity and frequency of use of the drug.
Most often, the preparation is applied to the damaged skin area three times a day, but if necessary, it can be used 4 times. The cream should be applied in a thin layer, covering the entire surface of the skin.
The method of application and dosage are selected individually for each case of illness or injury. Thus, to soften rough skin on the foot, it is recommended to first make a foot bath in warm water so that the skin becomes a little softer. Then you need to apply the cream to the areas of the foot and, if desired, cover with a napkin. It is advisable to carry out this procedure several times a day, especially before bedtime.
As for the use of the drug on the wound surface, it is necessary to take into account the depth and area of tissue damage, since Calendoderm cannot always cope with the pathology on its own.
Calendoderm can be used as an auxiliary drug for the treatment of ulcers, burns and skin wounds. It is excellent for preventing infection of the wound surface. The cream can be used after washing the lesion with an antiseptic to protect against the penetration of infectious agents.

Use Calendoderm during pregnancy
Throughout the entire pregnancy, a woman should monitor the intake of medications. The use of any pharmaceutical drug should be preceded by a consultation with a doctor. He should examine the woman and decide on its use.
The use of Calendoderm during pregnancy should also not be done without the supervision of a specialist to avoid negative effects of the drug on the fetus. The use of the drug is permitted only if the benefit to the pregnant woman is greater than the harm to the fetus.
Particular attention should be paid to the first three months, when the initial formation of organs and structures in the fetus occurs. During this period of time, any pathological factor, including the drug, can provoke disorders and mutations in the fetus.
In the future, this threatens the inadequate functioning of internal organs or even the complete lack of their functionality.
In addition, it is worth noting the period after childbirth, when the baby is breastfed. There is no evidence of the penetration of medicinal components of the drug, but still, the use of Calendoderm is permitted only by a doctor.
Contraindications
The main contraindication to the use of Calendoderm is the body's response to its use. These may be individual human characteristics, genetically determined, or acquired properties of the immune system.
Each drug contains main active ingredients and auxiliary ones, therefore the body's intolerance can manifest itself in any of the components.
Contraindications to the use of Calendoderm include allergic reactions when applying the cream to the skin. Thus, in the case of a single or multiple applications of the cream, hyperemia appears, larger in area than before, increased swelling or pain syndrome, it is worth canceling its further use.
In addition, the body may react in the form of itching, burning or tingling sensations in the area where the cream was applied.
General reactions of the whole body to the use of the cream are unlikely, since only a small part enters the general bloodstream, the dose of which is insufficient to develop a strong allergic reaction.
Side effects Calendoderm
Due to the natural composition of the drug, the frequency of side effects is minimal, but it is still worth paying attention to the occurrence of an allergic reaction in response to the use of the drug.
Side effects of Calendoderm may manifest as clinical symptoms of allergy, such as an increase in the intensity and area of hyperemia compared to the time before the drug was applied. It is also possible that swelling may increase due to the release of inflammation mediators in the lesion, and itching, tingling, and even burning may occur.
Side effects of Calendoderm can manifest themselves both after the first use of the drug and after several days of use. Everything depends on the reactivity of the body's immune system and individual tolerance of the cream components.
In the future, Calendoderm is not recommended for use in order to avoid the development of a more powerful immune system response and the occurrence of other adverse reactions to the drug.

Overdose
Overdose manifestations are usually observed as a result of failure to follow the recommendations for use of the drug in certain dosages and frequency. Thus, the accumulation of active substances and the increase of side effects occur.
An overdose of Calendoderm is practically impossible, since penetration into the general bloodstream is so insignificant that it cannot cause a deterioration in a person’s condition with repeated use.
In rare cases, local clinical symptoms of overdose are possible, although they are almost no different from the manifestations of side effects from using the cream.
When applying the cream in a thin layer and rubbing it in lightly, the active components of the drug penetrate into the deep layers of the skin and begin to perform their therapeutic function. After several hours (up to 6 hours), there is practically no cream left in the wound area, which requires re-application. As a result, there is no accumulation of the drug and no overdose.
Interactions with other drugs
When using any medication, you should be aware of its interactions with other drugs that are taken at the same time.
Thus, the interaction of Calendoderm with other drugs has not been fully identified, but it is worth noting that only a small part of the main drug component can penetrate into the general bloodstream. In this regard, in general, a clear pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic conflict cannot occur.
Calendoderm can locally stimulate the therapeutic effect of other creams and ointments, but in order to avoid the summation of their side effects, it is still not recommended to apply the cream earlier than 4-6 hours after using another ointment.
If you plan to use several creams from different drug groups, then you should first familiarize yourself with the effect of each drug separately and calculate the time interval between them that must be observed.
During this period, the absorption of the main components of the drug occurs, and therefore their combined interaction cannot manifest itself to its full extent.
Storage conditions
In order to preserve the necessary medicinal properties of the drug over a long period of time, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of its storage.
Thus, the storage conditions of Calendoderm imply maintaining a certain temperature regime, humidity level and lighting. For long-term storage, the optimal temperature is up to 25 degrees. In addition, direct sunlight should not fall on the packaging with the cream.
Storage conditions for Calendoderm must be observed throughout the entire expiration date so that all the medicinal properties of the drug specified in the instructions are preserved. In addition, if the recommendations are not followed, Calendoderm can have a negative effect on the body, causing a lot of side effects.
A mandatory condition is that children should not have access to the drug. The child may taste the cream, which will lead to poisoning. In addition, the reaction to the use of the drug in childhood is unknown.
Shelf life
For a certain period of time, Calendoderm retains its medicinal properties, which are checked by the manufacturer before the release of the drug. The shelf life of Calendoderm is 5 years, but it is worth considering that this applies only to the cream that has never been opened.
If Calendoderm has already been used, the maximum period during which it can still be used is only 6 months. After the expiration date, the drug cannot be used.
The expiration date applies to those medications that were stored under certain conditions, without violations. If the cream is exposed to sunlight or the temperature rises above 25 degrees, the likelihood of losing the medicinal properties of the drug increases. In this case, it can have a negative effect on Calendoderm.
