The external preparation of Deca-zol is an antiseptic (disinfecting) drug that is used as a local contraceptive.
Decasol belongs to the list of B preparations and can be dispensed in pharmacies without a prescription.
Indications of the decaSol
Decagamol is used as a local contraceptive medication, mainly in cases where there are any contraindications to the appointment of an intrauterine device and oral contraceptives, or during a break in their use.
Decasol is used in the postpartum and postabortion period, with breastfeeding, with casual sexual intercourse, with the risk of infection with sexual infections.
The medication can be used for preventive and therapeutic purposes with nonspecific, trichomonadal and yeast colpitis.

Release form
Dekazol is available in the form of an aerosol spray in a can, with the release of a white foam substance. The contents of one canister are presented:
- active ingredient decamethoxin (in the amount of 52 mg dry weight);
- additional components: ethanol, Glycerin, synthetic alcohol (in the form of fat primary fractions) or cytostearyl alcohol, polysorbate 80, purified water and freons.
Pharmacodynamics
Deca-zol in direct contact with spermatozoa shows a significant spermicidal effect, which is explained by the damaging effect on the ultrastructure of male germ cells.
The drug has an antimicrobial effect against pathogenic microorganisms in the vagina. This action is most directed at gram (+) coccal and rod-shaped bacteria. The drug against gram (-) microorganisms and candida fungi is less effective. Decasol depresses the development of trichomonads somewhat weaker than metronidazole or trichomonacid preparations.
The degree of contraceptive effect of the drug is estimated at 96-98%. The monthly cycle and the level of hormones during the application of the medicine does not change.
Decasol has a positive effect in the therapy of inflammatory processes in the vagina of non-gonococcal origin.
Pharmacokinetics
The active component of the drug does not enter the systemic circulation, acting solely externally.
Dosing and administration
Directly before use, use a canister to shake, remove the protective cap, attach the supplied nozzle to the valve mechanism, which should then be inserted deeper into the vaginal cavity (lying on the back) and press on the nozzle body.
The dose of the drug is determined by the duration of the pressure. Usually, the unit of dosage is used for 1 second. It is allowed to enter sexual intercourse immediately after applying the drug. The duration of the effect of DecaSol from the moment of administration is up to 180 minutes.
Usually the aerosol mass is used immediately before each sexual contact, regardless of the day or phase of the monthly cycle.
In case of repeated sexual intercourse, the drug is administered before the beginning of each of the contacts.
The maximum duration of regular use of Decagazine as a contraceptive is up to 2 or 3 months.
In prophylactic and therapeutic purposes for inflammatory processes of the vaginal mucosa, the drug is used as an independent treatment, or in combination with ordinary antimicrobial medicines from 2 to 4 times a day for a week. In the treatment of trichomoniasis and yeast colpitis, the drug is prescribed according to the scheme: 2-3 courses of application, each of which lasts 7-10 days. The dose of the drug remains unchanged - 1 sec.
When applying DecaZol, the toilet of the external genital organs is carried out only with clean running water 120 minutes before sexual intercourse, and 120 minutes after it. Soap and other detergents can not be used, as they can destroy the active substance of the drug.

Use of the decaSol during pregnancy
Use of Decagamol during pregnancy to treat inflammatory processes in the vagina is allowed, if for that is the clinical grounds. The medicine does not affect the course of pregnancy, as well as the formation and development of the baby, but it must be applied strictly according to the indications and with the permission of the doctor.
Breastfeeding is not contraindicated.
Contraindications
Contraindication to the use of DecaSol is an individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. When possible allergic reactions, the use of Deca-zol must be discontinued immediately.
Side effects of the decaSol
With prolonged use, uncritical disturbance of the natural level of the microflora and Ph of the vaginal environment can occur, as well as a slight local irritating effect. In such situations it is recommended to take a break in the use of the medicine.
Overdose
The cases of an overdose of DecaZol are not fixed and are considered unlikely, since the drug has a local effect and does not penetrate the bloodstream.
Interactions with other drugs

Storage conditions
Deca-zol is indicated to be stored in a dark place, in the temperature range from + 3 ° C to + 35 ° C. Children should not be allowed to store medical products.
