What is a tincture of ginseng? This is a medicinal product of natural origin, obtained by extracting the active biological substances from the root raw material of ginseng.

Indications of the tinctures of ginseng
The drug is recommended for use in the following conditions:
- weakening of mental and physical activity, chronic fatigue syndrome, loss of vitality;
- asthenia, increased fatigue;
- convalescence after complicated infectious conditions or surgical interventions;
- deterioration of the libido of neurological etiology (combined treatment).

Release form
The preparation is available in the form of a transparent liquid of straw-yellow or brownish hue, which has a peculiar aroma. Long-term storage may affect the precipitation in the preparation, which is not a negative sign: such a drug should be used by shaking it.
Active ingredient is tincture of rhizomes of ginseng plant (ratio 1:10 with 70% ethyl alcohol), 50 or 100 ml flacon.

Pharmacodynamics
The drug is referred to as a tonic (coding ATS A13A).
It has an adaptogenic, tonic effect on the body, raises blood pressure. It is able to strengthen the excitation reactions in the nerve cells of the cortex and the brain stem cells, and also facilitates the reflex response, stimulates metabolic processes, increases productive activity.
The effectiveness of the medication is very dependent on dosage: small doses of tincture increase the degree of excitation and weaken the inhibitory reaction, large doses have the opposite effect.
Dosing and administration
The drug is consumed inside half an hour before a meal. One-time intake for an adult should be 15-20 drops. Tincture of ginseng should be taken up to 3 times a day for a month. You can repeat the course by holding the break for 14-20 days.
Children from 12 years of tincture can use, calculating the dosage as follows: 1 drop for each lived year.
It is not recommended to use tincture in the evening, especially before going to bed, as this can disrupt the process of falling asleep.
Seasonality of the drug effectiveness was revealed: the greatest effect is observed in autumn and winter.
Use of the tinctures of ginseng during pregnancy
Experts in the period of pregnancy and lactation use tincture of ginseng specialists do not recommend.
Contraindications
Contraindications can serve as the following conditions:
- propensity to allergic reactions;
- high blood pressure;
- irritability, sleep disorders;
- tendency to increased bleeding;
- acute period of infectious pathology;
- epileptic seizures;
- children under 12 years of age.

Overdose
Signs of an overdose:
- pain in the head, dizziness;
- sleep disorders;
- dyspeptic disorders;
- hyperthermia;
- hemorrhage;
- loss of consciousness.
Treatment for overdose is carried out respectively with developing symptoms. There is no special antidote.
Storage conditions
The drug is recommended to store in a dark place, preferably in the refrigerator. Optimum storage temperature from +8 to +15 ° C. Children's access to medicines should be restricted.
