Lavex

Lavex is used for erectile dysfunction (impotence), i.e. When the penis of a man with sexual arousal does not reach a volume and hardness sufficient for a full sexual intercourse.

Indications Lavex

Laveks is prescribed for erectile dysfunction in men. This drug is prescribed in the case when lower doses of sildenafil did not bring the desired result.  

The main active substance of the drug is sildenafil, which has gained great popularity (better known as Viagra). Restoration of erectile function is due to better circulation of blood in the penis, which leads to a natural erection during sexual arousal. This is due to the release of nitric oxide in the cavernous bodies of the penis during sexual stimulation, then activated guanylate cyclase and there is an increase in the concentration of cGMP, causing relaxation of smooth muscles in the cavernous bodies, which contributes to the flow of blood. The drug begins to act only under the condition of sexual stimulation. Limit concentration of the drug in the blood is observed on average an hour after admission. Lavex is taken on an empty stomach, in this case the suction rate will be higher. Elderly people need to take the drug, starting at a dose of 25 mg, in the future, given the condition and effectiveness, the dose can be increased to 50 or 100 mg. Start taking Lavex with 25 mg is necessary and for those who have severe liver and kidney disease, in the future, the dose can be increased.

Pharmacodynamics

Lavex is a drug for oral use, which is aimed at restoring an erection in a man. The product effectively restores the ability to erect and provides a natural response to sexual arousal. The process of physiological erection is the release of nitric oxide in the cavernous body with sexual arousal. Nitric oxide activates the effect of guanylacyclase, which increases the level of cGMP, increased circulation in the penis, relaxation of smooth muscles. Sildenafil is a strong selective inhibitor (antidepressant), which enhances the relaxing effect in the tissues of the cavernous body. Sildenafil, the main substance of the drug Lavex, shows its pharmacological effect only with the appropriate sexual stimulation.

Pharmacokinetics

Lavex intake field is rapidly absorbed. The maximum concentration of the drug in the blood is reached on average about an hour after taking the pill, provided that it was drunk on an empty stomach, otherwise the absorption of the drug deteriorates. The half-life of sildenafil is about four hours. Sildenafil is excreted from the body in the form of metabolites mainly with fecal masses (about 80% of the dose taken) and urine.

Studies on healthy volunteers age 65 and older showed that the withdrawal of sildenafil is lowered, and the concentration of the active substance is 90% higher than that of the younger volunteers aged 18 to 45 who participated in the experiment. Among volunteers with mild or moderate renal insufficiency, pharmacokinetics did not change, and with a severe form the excretion of Lavex from the body was reduced.  

Dosing and administration

Lavex is taken in the case when drugs containing lower doses of sildenafil did not bring the expected result. The drug is given orally one tablet per day (70 mg) an hour before the sexual act.

If violations of the liver or kidney function, Lavex is prescribed in smaller doses. Be sure to adhere to the appropriate dosage.

Use Lavex during pregnancy

Lavex is not recommended for use in pregnancy and lactation, as there have been no clinical trials in this area.

Contraindications

Lavex can not be used by men under 18 years of age. Also, the drug is not prescribed if there is an increased sensitivity to the components of the drug.

Contraindicated taking the drug to people who do not want to have an active sexual life (with cardiovascular disease).

With caution use the drug for anatomical change in the penis. Reception Laveks can be accompanied by dizziness, visual impairment, therefore it is necessary to refrain from driving until an individual reaction of the body to the drug is established. Do not take Lavex concurrently with nitrates or other NO.

Side effects Lavex

Lavex should be taken about one hour before sexual intercourse, the recommended dose is 50 mg. Given the individual reaction of the body to the drug, the dose can be increased to 100 mg or reduced to 25 mg. Lavex is taken only once a day, as indicated above, simultaneous eating affects the effectiveness of the drug, the desired effect will be achieved much later (about 2-3 hours after taking the pill).

Lavex can provoke angina pectoris, migraine, tachycardia, heart failure, cardiac arrest, cerebral thrombosis, cardiomyopathy, atrioventricular blockade, arterial hypotension.

From the digestive system may occur stomatitis, indigestion, vomiting, xerostomia, rectal bleeding.

The central nervous system can respond with headache, ataxia, tremor, dizziness, insomnia, depression, hyporeflexia, hypoesthesia.

On the part of the respiratory organs may appear laryngitis, urticaria, cough, sinusitis, bronchitis, asthma, pharyngitis.

Also, various allergic reactions are possible - simple herpes, dermatitis, ulcers, itching.

Reception Laveks can provoke conjunctivitis, pain in the eyes, visual impairment, cataracts, bleeding, cystitis, photophobia, urinary incontinence, swelling of the genitals, anorgasmia, flushing of the face, swelling of the nasal mucosa.

Overdose

Clinical trials on healthy volunteers exceeding the recommended doses of the drug resulted in a feeling of fever, dizziness, headache, hypotension, and visual impairment. In case of overdoses, a standard treatment is performed in such cases. Treatment with dialysis (a procedure that partly takes on the functions of the kidneys) does not increase the excretion of sildenafil from the body, as it actively binds to plasma proteins and is not excreted in the urine.

Interactions with other drugs

It is not recommended to use Lavex in combination with other drugs intended for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, the safety and effectiveness of this kind of interaction has not been studied.

You can not simultaneously take sildenafil and ritonavir. Studies have shown that the excretion of sildenafil decreases with the simultaneous administration of inhibitors of SRA 3A 4 - erythromycin, ketoconazole, cimetidine.

The intake of an antacid (magnesium / aluminum hydroxide) had no effect on the bioavailability of sildenafil.

With arterial hypertension, patients receiving amlodipine had no signs of interaction with sildenafil.

Inhibitors of SUR 2S 9 (warfarin, tolbutamide), SUR 2D6 (antidepressants), thiazides, thiazide-like diuretics, ACE inhibitors, calcium antagonists, p-adrenergic blockers, inducers of SUR 450 metabolism (barbiturates, rifampicin) had no effect on the pharmacokinetic properties of the drug.

Storage conditions

Lavex must be stored out of the reach of children. It is necessary to protect the preparation from direct sunlight, store at a temperature of no more than 25 ⁰ С.

Special instructions

Before taking Lavex it is necessary to undergo cardiologic examination.

After the drug was on sale, there were cases of serious violations in the work of the heart after using the drug - angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, gastric arrhythmias, hemorrhagic stroke, sudden coronary death. These adverse reactions developed in people with heart disease. All these cases occurred mainly during or immediately after sexual contact. No drug is prescribed for patients who have recently suffered stroke, myocardial infarction, since the effect of the drug in such states has not been studied.

Also, the drug should be taken with caution to people with exacerbation of gastric or duodenal ulcers.

At the beginning of taking Lavex it is necessary to establish an individual reaction of the body to the drug, you should refrain from driving or other complicated mechanisms.

Shelf life

Lavex retains its properties for two years from the production date, subject to storage conditions. Do not use the drug after the expiration date.
