Vikair belongs to the category of drugs used to treat peptic ulcers, as well as GERD.
The drug has a complex therapeutic effect. Its active elements (basic bismuth nitrate, heavy Mg carbonate and Na bicarbonate) have an astringent and antacid effect. Buckthorn bark has laxative properties, and calamus rhizome demonstrates antispasmodic activity. [1]
Indications Vikair
It is used in the combined treatment of peptic ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract, hyperacid-type gastritis, as well as in the case of functional dyspepsia .
Release form
The release of a therapeutic substance is realized in the form of tablets - 10 pieces each inside a strip or blister. Inside the box - 1 or 2 blisters.
Dosing and administration
The medication is taken orally, after a meal. You need to take 1-2 tablets, 3 times a day, washed down with warm water (0.5 cups). It is recommended to pre-grind the tablets.
The duration of the treatment cycle is selected by the doctor, taking into account the severity of the disease and its nature.
- Application for children
There is no experience with the use of drugs in pediatrics.
Use Vikair during pregnancy
It is forbidden to prescribe Vikair during pregnancy. You can not use the medicine while breastfeeding.
Contraindications
The main contraindications:
- severe intolerance to the elements of the drug;
- chronic inflammation in the gallbladder and intestines;
- hypoacid gastritis;
- bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract;
- renal dysfunction of a pronounced nature;
- active form of fever.
Buckthorn bark cannot be used in the following cases:
- constipation having an endocrine or neurogenic nature;
- spastic constipation;
- blockage of the intestines;
- appendicitis;
- bleeding;
- sharp abdomen;
- active form of gastroenterocolitis.
Side effects Vikair
Among the side signs:
- disorders of the digestive function: nausea, pigmentation in the tongue, vomiting and increased stool frequency, which passes after lowering the dosage;
- problems associated with the work of the central nervous system: cephalalgia;
- lesions in the lymph and circulatory system: hemoglobinemia;
- systemic disorders: swelling in the eyelids and gums;
- Others: Allergy symptoms, including itching, hives, swelling and rashes.
The use of bismuth can cause such violations:
- manifestations from the subcutaneous layer and epidermis: itching and rashes;
- digestive disorders: dark green or black stools.
Buckthorn bark causes the following digestive disorders: colon atony, dehydration, colicky pain, and weakening of intestinal enzymes.
Calamus rhizomes can provoke such immune lesions: rashes, swelling, itching and hives.
Overdose
Signs of poisoning include nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. Symptomatic procedures are performed for treatment.
Frequent use of high dosages can cause bismuth intoxication. After 10 days, there may be manifestations characteristic of kidney failure (an increase in the plasma index of bismuth).
Buckthorn bark overdose causes tenesmus, colicky abdominal pain and discomfort.
Interactions with other drugs
The use of Vikair weakens the resorptive properties of tetracyclines, because their interaction with substances containing Mg cations causes the formation of poorly absorbed complexes.
You can not combine the medicine with other medicines containing bismuth, as this can increase the blood levels of bismuth.
It is forbidden to combine with glycosides, antibiotics, alkaloids and enzyme drugs.
The medication weakens the absorption of coumarin derivatives.
There may be a decrease in the absorption of other drugs when used in combination with Vikair. Because of this, it is necessary to observe at least a 2-hour interval between drug injections.
Storage conditions
Vikair must be kept in a place closed from the penetration of children. Temperature values - no more than 25 ° C.
Shelf life
Vicair can be applied within a 5-year term from the date of manufacture of the pharmaceutical product.
Analogs
The analogues of the drug are the medicines Venter, Gastrocepin, Gaviscon with De-nol, and besides this, Ampilop, Kanalgat and Gastrotypin with Vis-nol. Also on the list are Vikalin and Sukralfat with Gastro-norm.
