Vidisic is a medication used for ophthalmic procedures; is a synthetic tear substance.

When the drug is instilled into the eye, it forms a protective film barrier on the cornea with a moisturizing effect. The gel can be prescribed to replace the aqueous phase of the tear fluid, which at the same time mimics the mucin layer, providing a moisturizing effect on the cornea with the conjunctiva. [1]

The medication prevents the appearance of epithelial damage, and also increases the rate of epithelial regeneration.

Indications Vidisik

Pharmacodynamics

The basis of the drug is a hydrophilic polymer of a high molecular weight type; its osmolality and pH values are similar to those of the natural tear film. The action of the gel allows the fluid to be retained and a moist transparent film to form on the ocular surface. [2]

On the ocular surface, this gel can stay for a maximum of 1.5 hours.

Dosing and administration

The medication is instilled in 1 drop into the area of each eye (instillation is performed inside the lower conjunctival sac). It is necessary to use the gel 3-5 times a day. A more accurate frequency of administration is selected, taking into account the intensity of the symptoms of the disease. The gel is injected half an hour before bedtime. The cycle of therapy can take a long time.

In persons with keratoconjunctivitis keratoconjunctivitis, Vidisic is used in fairly long courses, so a doctor should monitor his condition, who will adjust the dosage, if necessary.
