Symptoms of dry keratoconjunctivitis

Dry keratoconjunctivitis is manifested by burning, dryness in the eye. In the conjunctiva cavity - a sticky secret. The cornea of the ibex is small erosion, more in the lower parts. On the cornea - thin threads (7-8), which are attached at one end, and the other - hangs. They consist of degenerate corneal epithelial cells. There are rezi in the morning when the eyes are opened by tearing the thread from the cornea

There are two forms of dry keratoconjunctivitis:

  1. typical dry keratoconjunctivitis (idiopathic);
  2. atypical dry keratoconjunctivitis (postoperative).

Filamentous idiopathic dry keratoconjunctivitis - often bilateral. Characteristic are the absence of tears in crying, dry mouth, nasopharynx, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing. There may be joints death, violation of salivation, dry arthritis of the wrist joints, fingers.

Atypical filamentous dry keratoconjunctivitis develops if there was a loss of vitreous body. It is a manifestation of corneal dystrophy, the endothelium is sloughing.
