Bioparox is a topical antibiotic used for diseases affecting the throat. Contains the component fusafungin, which has anti-inflammatory activity.

When used in vitro, the element fusafungin demonstrates an antibacterial effect, from which it can be concluded that there is a potential for the development of an in vivo effect on streptococci from subgroup A, mycoplasma pneumonia, staphylococci with pneumococci, candida albicans, certain strains of neisseria and some anaerobes. [1]

Indications Bioparox

It is used for antibacterial and anti-inflammatory therapy in the case of active stages of development of inflammation in the upper part of the respiratory tract.

Release form

The drug is released in the form of a nasal spray, inside aluminum containers equipped with a main nozzle and a dosing valve; container volume - 10 ml.

Pharmacokinetics

After the introduction of fusafungin, it accumulates mainly inside the nasal and oropharyngeal mucosa. A small amount of fusafungin is temporarily determined inside the blood plasma (the minimum detectable volume is 1 ng / ml), but this does not affect the safety indicators of drugs.

Dosing and administration

The medication is used in a dosage of 4 injections (orally) or 2 injections into the area of each nostril (nasally). The procedure is performed 4 times a day. In the absence of improvement after 7 days of therapy, it is necessary to consider the option of choosing an alternative treatment.

Bioparox is used orally and nasally; in this case, a special nozzle is used, which is included in the kit with the preparation. The nozzle must be disinfected once a day - wipe it with cotton wool previously moistened with a 90% ethanol solution.

  • Application for children

You can not use the medicine in persons under the age of 12.

Use Bioparox during pregnancy

During pregnancy, the medication is used with extreme caution. There is no clinical information regarding the use of Bioparox in pregnant women.

There is no information as to whether fusafungine is excreted in mother's milk. The issue related to the continuation or withdrawal of hepatitis B or treatment should be decided taking into account the benefits to the mother and all possible risks to the infant.

Animal testing did not reveal a direct or indirect negative impact on the course of pregnancy and childbirth, as well as the processes of fetal development and the postnatal period. In addition, female and male rats did not show any effect on fertility rates.

During animal tests, the secretion of fusafungin in mother's milk was not studied.
