Indications Sinekoda

What cough synecod? It is prescribed for dry barking and debilitating, while it can be of any origin: the result of smoking, whooping cough, various pathologies of the respiratory tract, including cancer of the bronchi. [2]They resort to a means in order to suppress this reflex during various diagnostic procedures, for example, bronchoscopy, surgical interventions, after operations.

A wet cough requires drugs that dilute sputum, contributing to their withdrawal, therefore, the suppression of cough centers with a synecod will lead to stagnation of mucus.

Release form

For ease of use by different age groups, there are several forms of drug release:

• cough synecod for children - drops, clear liquid with vanilla smell and syrup with the same aroma;
• Pills, sometimes called pills, are suitable for adults. [3]

Pharmacodynamics

Sinekod suppresses cough by directly influencing the cough center in the brain: the signal to the bronchi is stopped, forced expiration does not occur through the mouth. The drug is not narcotic, but with the help of its active ingredient, butamirata citrate acts on the central nervous system in such a way, which reduces the resistance of the respiratory muscles, increases the oxygen content in the blood, and makes breathing easier.

Pharmacokinetics

The active substance is completely and rapidly absorbed, it is detected in the blood after only 10 minutes. Excreted mainly by the kidneys with urine.

Dosing and administration

Each dosage form of the drug has its own dosage:

• drops - for children from 2 months to a year, a single dose dosage regimen is 10 drops, 1-3 years old - 15 drops, from 3 years and older - 25 drops. 4 times a day;
• syrup - at the age of 3-6 years, 5 ml is recommended, 6-12 years - 10 ml, 12 years and over 15 ml three times a day, 4 times for adults;
• Bean - for children 6-12 years old - 5 mg (one tablet) with a frequency of 2 times a day, 12 years and older - the same 3 times, for adults - 10 ml (two) 2-3 times, swallowed whole and washed down with water.

Application for children

The synecod in drops can be used starting from two months of a child's life, syrup - from three years, dragee - from six.

Use Sinekoda during pregnancy

Clinical studies in this category of patients were not conducted, therefore, in the first trimester, the synodec is not prescribed, and in the next two the decision is left to the doctor, while the prevalence of benefits for the expectant mother over the risk of the unborn child is weighed. The same approach is used during breastfeeding, because it is not known whether the metabolites of butamirate penetrate into breast milk.

Contraindications

In addition to the above restrictions regarding children, pregnant and lactating, the drug is contraindicated for people with an allergic reaction to its components.

Side effects Sinekoda

This antitussive agent occasionally causes side effects in the form of drowsiness, nausea, rash, urticaria, edema, itching. It may also happen that the cough increases with the synecod, which is a sign that another means of action is needed.

Overdose

A synecod with an overdose causes nausea, drowsiness, vomiting, diarrhea, and blood pressure may drop sharply. In such cases, gastric lavage, enterosorbent taking, symptomatic treatment is required.

Interactions with other drugs

Sinekod is not taken at the same time with drugs that provide bronchial secretion, because it can cause sputum in the respiratory tract and lead to the development of bronchospasm.

Storage conditions

Store the drug should be in a dark place out of the reach of children. Room temperature should not exceed + 25 ° С.

Shelf life

The drug is usable for 3 years from the date of issue.

Analogs

Sometimes the synodex does not help cough, then resort to its counterparts with another active ingredient. Among them: estotsin (dimenoxadol) is an analgesic drug [4], broncholitin (glucine hydrobromide and ephedrine hydrochloride) [5], bitiodin (tipipine), glaucine (alkaloid from the plant yellow macchino), libexin (prenoxdiazine hydrochloride) and dehydrin, yellow origin, hydrophlorine, yellowgene), libexin (prenoxdiazine hydrochloride), and dehydrin; affinely peeled) [6].

Reviews

Among the reviews regarding the therapeutic effect of the drug are both positive and negative. Some emphasize its affordability, the ability to quickly eliminate the painful cough, others complain that it did not help. Although the synodex is sold without a prescription, the best option is not to self-medicate, but to buy and take it as prescribed by a doctor.
