Indovenol is a capillary stabilizing drug from the category of angioprotectors.
Indications Indomanol
It is applied locally with such violations:
- trophic disorders that occur against the background of a deficiency of veins in a chronic form;
- varicose veins, in which there are puffiness and pain;
- diseases affecting joints with muscles (tendovaginitis with bursitis, and in addition synovitis and myositis);
- hematomas having a traumatic nature.
Release form
Release of the medication is realized in the form of a gel, in tubes of 40 g.
Pharmacodynamics
The therapeutic effect of the drug is due to the activity exerted by the active elements that make up its composition - it is venorotinol with indomethacin.
Venorutinol is a bioflavonoid and has a P-vitamin effect. It has strong venotonic, anti-edema, angioprotective, as well as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, strengthens capillaries, increases their strength and prevents brittleness, contributes to their elasticity and resistance to injuries. At the same time, the element weakens the exudative inflammation within the membranes. All this allows to stabilize microcirculation, to improve tissue trophism, and also to reduce stagnant reactions inside veins and perivenovenous tissues.
Indomethacin is included in the category of NSAIDs, with local treatment providing a strong analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiaggregant and anti-edema effect, which are caused by suppression of the processes of binding of PG and other inflammatory mediators.
Because the medicine is made on a gel basis, it is released at high speed and is fully released within the body, creating the required drug concentrations inside synovia and inflamed tissues.
Pharmacokinetics
Indomethacin undergoes protein synthesis inside the blood plasma; this figure is 90%. The metabolic processes take place inside the liver - O-demethylation occurs, as well as N-deacetylation of the substance to inactive components.
Excretion of 60% of the medicine occurs with urine, and another 30% is excreted with feces. The medication enters the mother's milk.
Dosing and administration
Use Indovolol must be exclusively external. For 500-1000 mg of the substance (gel strip length of about 2.5-5 cm) should be applied evenly on the epidermis, rubbing a little over 1-2 minutes. After performing the application, you should thoroughly wash your hands (except when using the appliqués on your hands). Repeat this process should be 2-3 times per day. In general for a day is allowed to apply not more than 5000 mg of the drug.
The duration of the therapy cycle is selected by the doctor, taking into account the nature of the pathology. In general, the course can last no more than 10 days.

Use Indomanol during pregnancy
Indoviol should not be given to nursing mothers or pregnant women.
Contraindications
Among the contraindications:
- presence of strong sensitivity with respect to indomethacin, other NSAIDs, as well as venurothinol or other elements of the drug;
- the presence of intolerance against aspirin or other NSAIDs, which manifests itself in the form of an asthma attack, an allergic rhinitis or urticaria.
Side effects Indomanol
Sometimes after the application of the gel, local symptoms of intolerance develop (signs of allergy), including itching, Quincke edema, hyperemia, skin irritation, local swelling and eczema, as well as urticaria, dermatitis (this includes the contact form) and eruptions (also vesicular). In addition, a burning sensation or heat in the treatment area, peeling and skin dryness. Small bubbles and pustules or blisters may also appear on the skin.
Single, with prolonged use in large areas of the epidermis, there are systemic side effects:
- disorders of the digestive function: stomach pain, nausea, ulcers, diarrhea, hemorrhage, vomiting, loss of appetite and increased values of liver enzymes;
- problems with urinary activity: dysuria, swelling, changes in smell or shade of urine and hematuria;
- disorders in the central nervous system: headaches, confusion, memory problems, dizziness, depression, speech disorder and problems with vision or hearing;
- the defeat of immunity: angioedema, allergic rhinitis, anaphylaxis, asthma attack and suffocation;
- other: myalgia, reddening of the eyes or dryness of the eye mucosa, weakness in the muscles, increased values of blood pressure, jaundice and changes in laboratory data on the composition of peripheral blood.
In the composition of drugs there is propylene glycol with dimethyl sulfoxide, capable of causing the development of skin irritation. Such manifestations disappear after the drug is discontinued.
At occurrence of any negative attributes it is necessary to consult with the doctor concerning expediency of the further use of a gel.
Overdose
No cases of overdose have been reported. However, taking into account the likely long-term use in portions exceeding optimal, the possibility of treating large areas of the epidermis and combined use with other drugs of indomethacin, there is a risk of negative symptoms. If they have appeared, it is necessary to wash off or remove the remained gel from an epidermis. Also, if required, symptomatic measures are taken.
Long-term use (longer than 10 days) requires monitoring the patient - to determine possible systemic reactions: severe headaches, hepatotoxicity, hemorrhages and laboratory blood tests (tracking platelet count and leukocyte count).
After an unintentional oral administration of the drug, a burning sensation is noted on the oral mucosa, nausea, salivation and vomiting. In such cases, you should rinse the oral cavity and stomach, as well as conduct symptomatic procedures, if necessary.
If the gel falls on open wound lesions, mucous or in the eyes, local irritation develops - redness, pain and burning sensation, as well as lacrimation. In such situations, the affected areas are washed with a 0.9% NaCl solution or with distilled water until the irritation stops or decreases.
Interactions with other drugs
When using the drug, the probability of interaction with other medicines is extremely low. NSAIDs are able to influence drugs that lower blood pressure, but with a local application of the substance, this possibility is very unlikely. At the same time, the risk of developing the effect in the future can not be ruled out if the medicine is used for too long in excessively high portions. Among the possible reactions:
- application together with anticoagulants increases the likelihood of bleeding;
- weakening the effectiveness of antihypertensive effects due to a decrease in the effect of ACE inhibitors, β-blockers, and besides diuretics of thiazide, loop or potassium-sparing nature;
- combination with GCS, other NSAIDs (among them, selective agents that slow down the effect of COX-2) and alcoholic beverages can increase the likelihood of the appearance of negative symptoms and potentiate the ulcerogenic effect;
- combination with lithium drugs or digoxin can lead to an increase in their plasma parameters;
- the drug weakens the secretion of methotrexate through the tubules, which is why its toxic effect is enhanced;
- when applied simultaneously with probenicid, the uricosuric effect of the latter may be weakened. In addition, excretion of indomethacin is also slowed;
- the sulfhydrazine substance can also inhibit the excretion of indomethacin;
- It is prohibited to combine Indoviol with antitumor or hypoglycemic drugs, as well as myelosuppressors, valproic acid agents and cephalosporins;
- when combined with aliskirenom can develop hyperglycemia;
- the drug potentiates the effect of ascorbic acid on the strength and structure of the vascular membranes;
- The combination with sulindac can cause polyneuropathy.
Storage conditions
Indowolol is required to be kept in a place that is closed from children's access. Do not freeze the gel. The temperature is within 25 ° C.
Shelf life

Application for children
The drug is prohibited for use by children under 14 years of age.
Analogues
Ginkor Fort, Venorin, Phleboton and Indovazin with Ascorutin, as well as Ginkor gel, Vasoket, Venoruton, Troxsevenol with Venosmin, as well as Troxerutin with Detralex, are analogues of the drug.
Reviews
Indovolol receives quite different reviews regarding the drug effect. Many people say that the use of the gel led to the appearance of allergy symptoms on the epidermis. But there are also such patients who noted high effectiveness of the drug, especially in the early stages of the disease.
