Pharmacodynamics
Antipyretic properties of acetylsalicylic acid are due to the fact that it affects the central nervous system, as it has the ability to suppress the synthesis of PG-E2 in the hypothalamus - as a response to the influence of pyrogens. The analgesic effect of the substance develops centrally, and beyond it, peripherally. Central is expressed in the effect of the substance on the centers of the hypothalamus, as well as in the reduction of the pain threshold, while the peripheral manifests itself as the ability to slow the process of GH synthesis on the inflamed areas, and also to prevent sensitization of painful ends with respect to mechanical or chemical stimuli.
Paracetamol slows the process of synthesis of PG, thus providing an anesthetic, as well as an antipyretic effect. This substance acts as a weak inhibitor of biosynthesis of PG, which are involved in the inflammation process.
Caffeine is able to suppress the active functioning of the enzyme PDE, as a result of which cAMP accumulates. The main function of caffeine is active interaction with purine receptors located in the brain. Under the influence of caffeine, the analgesic properties of acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol are enhanced, so that the therapeutic effect comes faster.

To eliminate the overdose it is possible in the following ways: the general detoxification of the body (the procedure of gastric lavage, the intake of laxative drugs, and enterosorbents), the introduction of infusion treatment to normalize the acid-base balance. If the patient has acidosis, it is necessary to inject a solution of E325 or baking soda. To reduce the hepatotoxic effects of paracetamol, cysteine, acetylcysteine or mercaptamine is used. Symptomatic treatment is also performed.
