Yumex is an antiparkinsonian drug.

Indications Jumex

Yumex is prescribed for Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and mild senile dementia.

Release form

Yumex is available in tablet form, 50 tablets per package.

Pharmacodynamics

Yumex is a MAO inhibitor. It inhibits the reuptake of dopamine.

Pharmacokinetics

Yumex is rapidly absorbed and distributed. Yumex metabolites are mainly excreted by the kidneys with urine within 3 days.

Dosing and administration

For Parkinson's disease - 5-10 mg per day. For Alzheimer's disease - 5 mg per day in the morning once.

Use Jumex during pregnancy

No studies have been conducted on the effects of Yumex on pregnancy and lactation. The drug is used in women who have passed the reproductive age.

Contraindications

Yumex is contraindicated in case of individual sensitivity to the components, in combination with serotonin reuptake inhibitors, antidepressants and pethidine.

When using Yumex, allergic reactions, dry mouth, decreased blood pressure, decreased vision, and sleep problems may occur.

Overdose

Overdose of Yumex does not have a specific clinical picture; treatment is aimed at eliminating symptoms.

Interactions with other drugs

There is an undesirable interaction with pethidine and serotonin reuptake inhibitors, in the latter case, an increase in blood pressure, hallucinations and psychosis are possible. The mechanism of this interaction is not fully understood. When taken together with antidepressants, severe toxic damage to the central nervous system with tremor and sharp jumps in blood pressure is possible. When taking the drug simultaneously with traditional MAO inhibitors, it is necessary to follow a diet with limited cheese and yeast. The "cheese effect" is accompanied by arterial hypertension.
