Pharmacodynamics
The troxerutin component is a flavone derivative that has a protective effect on blood vessel membranes. The drug has a capillaroprotective, anti-edematous, anti-inflammatory, and besides the venotonic effect in the treatment of disorders of lymph flow processes with blood flow in the veins.
The effect of bioflavonoids contributes to the development of angioprotective effects, strengthening the strength of capillaries, and in addition their elasticity, together with elasticity, and in addition to resistance to traumatic injuries. All this helps to stabilize blood microcirculation, improve nutritional processes inside tissues, and at the same time to reduce the likelihood of developing stagnant phenomena inside veins with perennial tissues.
The antioxidant effect of troxerutin helps to slow down the processes of oxidation of vitamin C inside the body. In addition, he is an indirect participant in the binding of the structural component of connective tissue - collagen. Along with this, troxerutin participates in the formation of a physiological element that slows the activity of hyaluronidase.
The drug helps to improve the rheological parameters of the blood.

Pharmacokinetics
Troxerutin is rapidly absorbed inside the gastrointestinal tract. The results of the conducted studies make it possible to evaluate the pharmacokinetic properties of the substance and the indices of its bioavailability. It was found that the peak values of the component are noted after the lapse of 1 hour after the use of the capsules and are 81.00 ± 2.94 ng / ml. The biological half-life of the element is 8 73 ± 0.88 hours.
Inside the blood, the drug is free, and in addition, in the form of glucuronic derivatives and trioxyethylquercitin.
Since troxerutin undergoes passage through the liver with the intestine, it continues to remain inside the organism for a long time. In the course of therapy, the substance does not cause any changes in the existing morphological parameters of the blood, the rates of erythrocyte sedimentation, and in addition, in the level of bilirubin with urea and the system of blood uptake of aminotransferase. This allows us to conclude that the drug does not have a burdensome effect on the metabolic processes inside the liver.
Excretion mainly occurs with bile (65%), and then with feces. A small part of the substance is excreted in the urine.

Dosing and administration
Venolan is taken orally - in the amount of the first capsule (0.3 g), twice-three times a day, after eating.
The size of the supporting portion is 1 capsule (0.3 g) per day.
Lasts like a therapeutic course usually 16 days. If necessary, it can be prolonged, but maximum to 3-4 weeks, taking into account the effect of the medicine.

Use of the venolana during pregnancy
It is forbidden to prescribe Venolan to pregnant women.
Overdose
When poisoning, there is an increase in adverse symptoms (such as flatulence, nausea, head and abdominal pain).
When the disorder develops, it is necessary to perform gastric lavage and induce vomiting. Then symptomatic measures should be taken.
