Venohepanol is an angioprotector, which is used to eliminate varicosities.

Indications of the venohepanol

It is used in such situations:

  • therapy or prevention of varicose veins (this includes cases after surgery);
  • thrombophlebitis with thrombosis;
  • trauma of a closed nature (among which also sports), against which there are stretching or bruising;
  • elimination of infiltrates;
  • treatment of scarring and external inflammation, in which there is no violation of the integrity of the skin surface;
  • Tendovaginitis.

Release form

The release is made in a helium form, in tubes of 40 g capacity. In the box - 1 tube with gel.

Pharmacodynamics

Venohepanol - a preparation with anti-edema and antithrombotic properties, as well as anti-inflammatory effect. Used for outdoor application.

One of the components of drugs, heparin, has a local anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, as well as antithrombotic effect.

Element venaurotinol has angioprotective and venotonic properties, helps to strengthen capillary membranes and increases their tone (with the participation of bioflavonoids), and besides it improves tissue trophic with microcirculation processes.

The component dexpanthenol promotes stimulation of tissue epithelialization and granulation. Inside the body, it turns into an active metabolic product - calcium pantothenate, which participates in the binding of coenzyme A.

Dosing and administration

The medicine is used externally. It is required to apply it to adults in affected areas (the skin in this place should be intact) 1-3 times / day.

To eliminate venous diseases, bandages should be used, under which the gel is applied.

At the treatment of ulcers of varicose nature, the area around the ulcerous lesion should be treated with a gel - make a ring that is approximately 4 cm in width. It is prohibited to apply the medicine directly to the ulcer.

The duration of therapy is selected for each patient separately (this is done by the attending doctor), taking into account the course of the pathology and clinical picture.

In the case of therapy with various injuries (also sports), against which there are hematomas, the course duration reaches 5-7 days.

Contraindications

The main contraindications:

  • the presence of intolerance in relation to the active elements and other components of the drug;
  • diathesis of hemorrhagic nature, hemophilia, expressed stage of thrombocytopenia and Verlhof disease;
  • formed on the site of thrombophlebitis lesions ulcerative-necrotic character;
  • the presence of bleeding or a tendency to develop them;
  • violations of the integrity of the skin, having a traumatic origin, and in addition, wound lesions of an open or infected nature.

Side effects of the venohepanol

The application of the gel can lead to the appearance of side effects from the skin surface, the subcutaneous layer and the immune system. Among them, local manifestations of high sensitivity - such as irritation, itching, burning, flushing, rash and swelling on the skin. Small pustules may appear, as well as bubbles or vesicles, and dermatitis (sometimes its contact form), urticaria, Quincke edema, eczema or hemorrhages may develop. Treatment of large areas of the skin can lead to the appearance of common negative symptoms, but they often disappear after abolishing drugs themselves.

If any negative symptoms appear, consult your doctor for further use of the medication.

Overdose

If the application of drugs is observed, the likelihood of intoxication is extremely low. When treating large areas of the skin (due to the increased likelihood of systemic absorption of the drug), hemorrhagic complications (such as bleeding, having different degrees of severity) may occur. Accidental ingestion of the gel may lead to vomiting with nausea.

If there is a slight bleeding, it is necessary to reduce the dosage or to temporarily cancel the use of the medication. When bleeding with a strong severity will require the introduction of / in the method of 1% solution of sulfate protamine. In the absence of information on the level of heparin within the blood, it is allowed to inject a maximum of 1 ml of this solution in a single dose.

If the medicine is accidentally swallowed, induce vomiting and perform gastric lavage. If necessary, it is necessary to perform the procedure of peritoneal dialysis. In addition, symptomatic activities are carried out.

Interactions with other drugs

When combined with parenteral injection of nitroglycerin, or when using the drug together with tetracycline or thyroxine and ergot alkaloids, and in addition nicotine or antihistamine drugs, there may be a decrease in the effectiveness of venohepanol.

The drug potentiates the effects of vitamin C on the structure and strength of vascular membranes.

Combination with ketorolac, phenylbutazone or dextran increases the likelihood of bleeding.

Anticoagulants taken internally (such as dicumarin, warfarin or clopidogrel) when combined with the drug are able to increase the values of PTV.

The combination with venotoxic drugs or NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, diclofenac or indomethacin) leads to potentiation of the properties of the gel.

Iloprost with dipyridamole increases the anticoagulant effect of heparin, which is an active element of the gel.

Combination with aliskiren or ACEI can lead to the development of hyperglycemia.

Combined use with drugs that contain sulindac can cause peripheral neuropathy.

The constituent element of Venohepanol, dexpanthenol, is capable of potentiating the activity of the depolarizing type muscle relaxants (such as decamethonium bromide or suxamethonium chloride), and in addition to decreasing the efficiency of non-depolarizing muscle relaxants (among them, tubocurarine chloride). This is due to the fact that it has the ability to stimulate the binding of acetylcholine.
