The vaginal product Vagisan is a probiotic preparation used for fungal diseases and manifestations of disturbances in the stability of the vaginal microflora.
Indications Vagisan
The medicinal probiotic Vagisan can be prescribed as a therapeutic and preventive measure for pathological disorders of the natural microflora of the vaginal environment. The drug is approved for use by women and girls who have reached puberty.
As a rule, this medication is used for infectious pathologies (as part of the treatment of contact infections), during long-term antibiotic therapy, vaginal dysbacteriosis (due to the use of oral contraceptives or hormonal agents), during pregnancy or after childbirth to restore microflora.
In addition, the drug is used in combination therapy for urogenital infectious pathology, or in case of microflora imbalance caused by stressful situations or a decrease in the body's immunity.
Release form
The product is available in dense, light-colored gelatin capsules containing a beige powder substance.
The cardboard factory packaging includes a blister with 15 capsules for internal use.
Each capsule form consists of a complex of live lactobacilli in a total amount of at least 1˟109 CFU. Additional substances in the preparation include glucose, potato starch, magnesium stearate and cellulose.

Pharmacodynamics
The oral preparation helps to stabilize the normal composition of the vaginal microflora. Vagisan consists of live lactobacilli, most of which inhabit the vagina under normal conditions. Vagisan maintains the natural acidic reaction of the environment, which does not favor the growth and development of pathogenic bacteria.
The normal composition of microflora is lactobacilli and other non-pathogenic microorganisms, opportunistic fungi and bacteria. In stressful situations, during antibiotic treatment, decreased immunity or under the influence of other pathological factors, the balance of microflora is disturbed, the number of opportunistic bacterial strains increases, which causes the emergence of diseases and leads to the danger of unhindered introduction of foreign infection.
The oral remedy Vagisan should help to form a balance of microflora and its further support. Due to this, the risk of occurrence of a number of various urological and gynecological infectious pathologies is reduced.
Dosing and administration
The capsule form of Vagisan is intended for oral internal use.
It is recommended to take the medication simultaneously with food, and the capsule should be washed down with 150-200 ml of liquid.
The duration of the treatment course and the dosage of the drug should be determined by the doctor, taking into account the degree of dysbacteriosis and the presence of concomitant therapy.
For combined treatment of acute and chronic vaginal imbalance, the drug is used in quantities of 1 to 2 capsules per day.
The duration of treatment with the drug when conducting complex therapy is usually 14-28 days.
With concomitant antibacterial therapy, it is recommended to take Vagisan in the amount of 2 capsules per day.
The duration of use of this drug in antimicrobial therapy is usually at least 14 days. In case of combined antibiotic therapy with the drug Vagisan, it is necessary to observe the interval between doses of at least 2 hours.
According to the studies conducted, when using just one capsule per day, a pronounced medicinal effect was observed already on the 8-10th day of use.
