Pharmacokinetics

The pharmacokinetic properties of the multivitamin and mineralizing agent Unicap T represent a combination of the properties of its constituent substances. As a result, it is not possible to conduct analytical studies due to the difficulty of tracking all ingredients using special markers or biological assays. It is also impossible to determine the mechanism and products of metabolism of Unicap T.

Dosing and administration

Unicap T is prescribed for vitamin and mineral deficiency in the body. This occurs when there is a deficiency of essential components in food products, when the absorption of vital substances is impaired, when there is an individual need for increased intake, and when there are metabolic disorders.

Use Unicap T during pregnancy

Unicap T is not prohibited for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding if taken in the recommended dosages. Pregnant women should not increase the dosage of the drug on their own, due to the fact that the multivitamin contains vitamin A, which in large doses (more than 10,000 IU) can lead to intrauterine developmental disorders of the unborn child. It is not recommended to take any other mineral and vitamin preparations during pregnancy while taking Unicap T tablets.

Contraindications

Unicap T is not prescribed in the following cases:

  • if the patient has a tendency to be allergic to any of the ingredients in the multivitamin;
  • if there is severe renal failure (when creatinine clearance is less than 30 ml per minute);
  • in childhood;
  • in case of diagnosed hypervitaminosis.

Side effects Unicap T

When taking the recommended dose of the drug, side effects usually do not occur.

Overdose

A single or continuous intake of unjustifiably high doses of mineral and vitamin supplements may cause overdose phenomena. The following symptoms may be signs of such a condition:

  • wave-like nausea, vomiting;
  • lethargy, fatigue, decreased performance;
  • intoxication of the body (vomiting, pain in the abdominal area, gray skin);
  • allergic reaction (urticaria, itching and hyperemia of the skin, up to anaphylactic shock).

Intoxication syndrome develops as a result of taking a large amount of the drug with a total content of more than 40 mg of iron.

At the first signs of intoxication, it is recommended to stop taking the drug, wash out the stomach or induce vomiting, and then seek medical help.

In case of iron intoxication, the doctor prescribes an intramuscular injection of Deferoxamine in an amount of 1-2 g every 3-12 hours.

Interactions with other drugs

The simultaneous use of mineral-vitamin preparations and tetracycline antibiotics may impair the absorption of tetracycline.

Concomitant use may worsen the effect of Levodopa.

It is not recommended to take additional vitamin and mineral complexes during treatment with Unicap T, in order to avoid overdose and hypervitaminosis.
