Dosing and administration

Taking multivitamin preparations is advisable in situations accompanied by an insufficient amount of vitamins and minerals in the body. This happens when there is a lack of essential components in food products, when the absorption of vital substances is impaired, when there is an individual need for increased intake, as well as when there are metabolic disorders.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over can take Unicap M orally with food, 1 tablet per day.

Use Unicap M during pregnancy

Unicap M is approved for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in recommended dosages. It is not recommended for pregnant women to independently increase the amount of the drug taken, since the multivitamin contains retinol (vit. A), which in large doses (more than 10,000 IU) can provoke the development of intrauterine developmental disorders of the unborn child. You should not take any additional mineral and vitamin preparations during pregnancy simultaneously with Unicap M tablets.

  • if you are prone to allergies to any of the components of the multivitamin product;

Overdose

A single or continuous intake of unjustifiably high doses of a multivitamin may cause overdose phenomena. The following symptoms are considered signs of such a condition:

  • paroxysmal nausea, vomiting;
  • lethargy and drowsiness, decreased ability to work;
  • signs of intoxication of the body (vomiting, pain in the abdominal area, flaccidity of the skin) up to a state of shock;
  • severe allergic reaction (urticaria, itching and redness of the skin, anaphylactic shock).

When speaking about intoxication syndrome, we mean taking a large amount of the drug with a total content of 40 to 70 mg of iron.

At the first signs of intoxication, it is recommended to stop taking the drug, wash out the stomach or induce a gag reflex, and then seek medical help.

In case of ferrointoxication, the first aid is an intramuscular injection of Deferoxamine in an amount of 1-2 g several times at intervals of 3 to 12 hours.

Interactions with other drugs

The simultaneous use of a multivitamin preparation and tetracycline antibiotics may impair the absorption of the latter.

Also, combined use may worsen the effect of Levodopa.

It is not recommended to take additional vitamin and mineral complexes during treatment with Unicap M, in order to avoid overdose and hypervitaminosis.
