The complex multivitamin product Unicap M is a mineral-vitamin supplement for replenishment of useful substances in adults and children from 12 years.

Indications Unicap M
Standard indications for the use of Unicap M are their deficiency in food intake, which can be a consequence of malnutrition or compliance with strict diets.
The next indication is an increase in the need for vitamins and minerals:
- at high loads on the body;
- in the period of intensive growth and development;
- during pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- in old age;
- during severe illness;
- during the recovery from injury;
- after carrying out operative interventions.
In addition, Unicap M can be prescribed if the absorption of vitamins that come with food deteriorates:
- with enterocolitis;
- at a dysbacteriosis;
- with liver diseases;
- in the syndrome of cholestasis.
Release form
Unicap M is available in the form of rounded convex tablets, covered with a pale yellow coat.
Each tablet is presented: vit. A, vit. D, vit. E, vit. B1, B2, B6, B12, nicotinamide, pantothenic acid, folic acid, ascorbic acid, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, manganese, chromium, selenium, iodine, and additional excipients.
Tablets in the package: 30, 60, 90, 100, 500, or 1000 pieces, placed in a vial.

Pharmacodynamics
The pharmacodynamic properties of Unicap M are determined by the components of the preparation. In general, the effect of the multivitamin complex is as follows:
- fosters growth and development of the body;
- protects epithelial cells from damage;
- normalizes calcium and phosphorus metabolism in the body;
- stabilizes protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism;
- builds up the work of the nervous system;
- provides the stages of respiration cells;
- favors the process of hematopoiesis and myelin production;
- participates in the formation of hemoglobin, the maturity of erythrocytes;
- increases immune defense;
- maintains the integrity of epithelial and endothelial tissues;
- creates favorable prerequisites for the formation of bones, the nervous system;
- accompanies the full performance of the heart muscle;
- facilitates the function of the thyroid gland;
- accelerates recovery in the post-operative or post-traumatic period.
Pharmacokinetics
The pharmacokinetic properties of the Unicap M multivitamin are a combination of the properties of its constituent ingredients. For this reason, it is not possible to conduct a full kinetic study, since it is very difficult to trace all the ingredients with the help of markers or biological studies. Similarly, it is impossible to determine the residual products of the metabolism of the drug.

Dosing and administration
Admission of multivitamin preparations is advisable in situations accompanied by insufficient amounts of vitamins and minerals in the body. This happens when there is a lack of necessary components in food, in violation of the assimilation of vital substances, with individual need for increased intake, as well as in disorders of metabolic processes.
Adult patients and children who are 12 years old can take Unicap M orally at the same time as a meal in the amount of 1 tablet per day.

Use Unicap M during pregnancy
Unicap M is approved for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, at recommended dosages. It is not recommended to increase the amount of the drug taken to pregnant women independently, since the multivitamin product contains retinol (Vitamin A), which in large doses (more than 10,000 IU) is capable of provoking the development of violations of the fetal development of the unborn child. It should not be during pregnancy to take any additional mineral-vitamin preparations at the same time with tablets Unicap M.
Contraindications
Unicap M is not recommended for use in the following cases:
- with a tendency to allergy to any of the components of a multivitamin;
- with severe course of renal failure (if creatinine clearance is less than 30 ml per minute);
- in children under 12 years of age;
- at the phenomena of hypervitaminosis.
Side effects Unicap M
If you adhere exactly to the recommended dosage of the drug, then undesirable effects, as a rule, do not appear.
In extremely rare cases, the development of allergic reactions (skin rashes, redness, diathesis) or dyspeptic disorders (diarrhea, pain in the abdomen) is possible.
When there are undesirable symptoms, taking a multivitamin drug should be stopped.
Overdose
One-time or continuous intake of unreasonably high dosages of a multivitamin agent can cause overdose phenomena. Symptoms of this condition are the following symptoms:
- paroxysmal nausea, vomiting;
- retardation and drowsiness, decreased ability to work;
- signs of intoxication of the body (vomiting, soreness in the abdomen, sluggishness of the skin) up to the shock state;
- a severe allergic reaction (hives, itching and redness of the skin, anaphylactic shock).
Speaking of the intoxication syndrome, we mean the intake of a large amount of the drug with an aggregate content of 40 to 70 mg of iron.
At the first signs of intoxication, it is recommended to stop taking the drug, wash the stomach or provoke a vomitive reflex, then consult the doctor for help.
When ferrointoxication as a first aid, use of intramuscular injection of Deferoxamine in an amount of 1-2 g several times at intervals of 3 to 12 hours.
Interactions with other drugs
The simultaneous administration of a multivitamin preparation and tetracycline antibiotics may impair the assimilation of the latter.
Also, a combination may aggravate the action of Levodopa.
It is not recommended to take additional vitamin-mineral complexes against the background of Unicap M treatment, in order to avoid overdose and hypervitaminosis.
