Release form

This product is not available as a tablet. It is available in several forms, including ointment and suppositories. One gram of ointment for rectal use contains 920 mcg of fluocortolone pivalate and 950 mcg of fluocortolone caproate. The auxiliary components are: castor oil, 2-octyldodecanol and hydrogenated castor oil. It also contains flavored citrus-rose oil and polyethyleneglycol 400 monoricinoleate. This is the composition of the ointment for rectal use.

One suppository contains slightly less active components. Thus, fluocortolone pivalate is present in the amount of 610 mg, and fluocortolone caproate - 630 mcg. Another active component is cinchocaine hydrochloride, its content is 1 mg. In rectal ointment it is slightly more - 5 mg. Solid fat acts as an auxiliary component.

Pharmacodynamics

Ultraproct is a complex drug. It has a local anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, it acts as an antipruritic and analgesic. Thus, the pharmacodynamics of Ultraproct consists of the work of two main components: fluocortolone and cinchocaine.

Ultraproct contains fluocortolone esters. Their main feature is different molecular weight. In addition, the degree of dissolution in fats also varies. This allows you to get to the site of inflammation at different speeds. This effect causes both rapid relief and its long-term therapeutic effect.

Fluocortolone is a topical glucocorticosteroid. Its action is aimed at relieving inflammation, itching and pain. In addition, the component has an antiallergic effect. These effects are characteristic of all glucocorticosteroids with local action. All this is achieved due to a number of changes that occur in the body under the influence of these hormones.

Pharmacokinetics

The anti-inflammatory effect of the drug is achieved due to a significant decrease in enzyme activity. After all, they are the ones that cause the destruction of cells and tissues. Thus, pharmacokinetics consists of the action of the drug itself. Thanks to fluocortolone, the rate of synthesis of prostaglandins, leukotrienes and kinins decreases. In the body, they act as inflammation mediators.

Glucocorticosteroids inhibit lipid peroxidation and form free radicals in the inflammation site itself. This is how the antioxidant effect manifests itself. There is a significant decrease in the permeability of the vascular wall, the amount of protein and water decreases.

Antipruritic and antiallergic effects are achieved by glucocorticosteroids. They stabilize the walls of mast cells and reduce the release of histamine into the blood. When used locally, the product significantly improves tissue microcirculation and reduces swelling. Itching is reduced, regeneration is accelerated, and healing occurs faster.

Another active ingredient of Ultraproct is cinchocaine. It is classified as a local anesthetic. It leads to inhibition of generation and conduction of nerve impulses. This occurs due to the normalization of the cell membranes of existing nerve fibers. This helps block sensitive endings, as well as the impossibility of developing pain syndrome. The penetration of the drug into the blood is low. When it gets into the blood plasma, metabolism occurs in the liver, and everything is excreted by the kidneys.

Dosing and administration

Before using suppositories, it is necessary to take care of the hygiene of the anus. This will allow achieving the maximum therapeutic effect. It is advisable to use the product immediately after defecation. Using Ultraproct even in small doses leads to complete relief and even disappearance of unpleasant symptoms. Despite this, the intake must be continued. The method of use and doses of Ultraproct should be prescribed by a doctor, on an individual basis.

Ointment for rectal use. Usually in this form Ultraproct is applied 2 times a day. On the first day of use, the number of applications can be more than 4. This is done for the purpose of quick relief. Before use, you must wash your hands thoroughly, then squeeze out a small amount of ointment and rub it into the anus with your finger. If there is an urgent need, the product is applied directly to the anus. For these purposes, there is a special tip that comes with the product itself. Suppositories. In the form of suppositories, Ultraproct is used once a day, preferably at night. On the first day, you can use 2-3 suppositories for quick relief. Use Ultraproct during pregnancy

It should be noted that drugs belonging to the group of glucocorticosteroids can have a teratogenic effect on the developing fetus. Therefore, the use of Ultraproct during pregnancy can lead to the development of pathological processes, including cleft palate in infants. This is possible if a woman systematically takes glucocorticosteroids, especially in the first months of pregnancy.

There is no reliable data regarding the effect of Ultraproct on the fetus, so it is not recommended to use the drug in the early stages of pregnancy. In the second and third trimesters, the use of the drug is possible only as prescribed by a doctor. Moreover, the positive effect for the mother should be much higher than the potential risk to the child.

When using the product during breastfeeding, caution is required. Significant doses are not excreted with milk, but, nevertheless, you should not take Ultraproct without the knowledge of a doctor.

Contraindications

Despite its positive effect, Ultraproct can not be used by everyone. The risk group includes people with increased sensitivity to the main components of Ultraproct, namely fluocortolone and cinchocaine. The use of the drug in this case can lead to the appearance of negative reactions from the body, up to severe allergies. These are not all the contraindications that apply to the use of the drug.

People with tuberculosis or syphilitic processes in the body should not use Ultraproct. But this only applies to those places where the lesion itself is located. Rectal use is not excluded in this case. Use is prohibited in the presence of viral diseases, including chickenpox. Finally, the main contraindication is pregnancy, up to 14 weeks. During this period, there is a risk of developing pathological processes in the child.

Side effects Ultraproct

Ultraproct is well tolerated due to the fact that it contains a small amount of fluocortolone. In this case, side effects from taking Ultraproct are not observed. Despite the fact that taking glucocorticosteroids is characterized by negative manifestations on the part of the body.

With prolonged use of Ultraproct, more than one month, side effects of local action may develop. Most often, this manifests itself in the form of skin atrophy and allergic reactions. The skin may begin to itch, turn red and become covered with a rash. It is enough to reduce the dose of Ultraproct or completely refuse it, as the negative symptoms will subside on their own.

If the product somehow got into the stomach, it is necessary to immediately wash it out. After all, all this will entail serious poisoning. Ultraproct must be removed from the body and the person must be prescribed symptomatic therapy.

Overdose

When using the product rectally, the occurrence of negative manifestations on the part of the body is impossible. An overdose can develop only with accidental oral administration. A person can accidentally swallow a small amount of ointment or suppository. In this case, the manifestation of the systemic action of the cinchocaine component is not excluded.

With such exposure, the patient may experience cardiovascular disorders. This entails suppression of myocardial function, as well as the development of neurological disorders. Often, everything is accompanied by convulsions, as well as depressed breathing.

The drug does not have a specific antidote, so the person needs to immediately wash out the stomach. Ultraproct should be removed from the body in order to exclude the risk of developing serious deviations. After washing, enterosorbents are prescribed, then symptomatic therapy.

Interactions with other drugs

Storage conditions

For suppositories, the temperature regime is slightly different and is equal to 25 degrees. In general, it is recommended to place suppositories in the refrigerator. It is advisable to place the product in a warm and dry place. There should be no direct sunlight or dampness. Otherwise, Ultraproct will quickly deteriorate. Shelf life

In order for the product to last for more than one year, it must be stored properly. In this case, the expiration date is just a number, because the storage conditions themselves are important. It is recommended to keep the suppositories in the refrigerator to avoid them melting. As for the ointment, there are no temperature restrictions for it, but it should not go beyond 30 degrees.

During the entire shelf life, it is necessary to observe the product itself. If the consistency, smell and color change, it is not recommended to use it. It is also important to observe the condition of the packaging itself. The ointment should be stored for 4 years, and suppositories - 2 years. Moreover, it is not recommended to remove them from the original packaging.

The product should be kept away from children. After all, they can harm both themselves and the medicine itself. The storage place should be dry, without direct sunlight and high temperatures.
