- Diseases of the subcutaneous tissue and skin ( pyoderma, pyoderma, furuncles, impetigo ).
- Pasteurelosis (septicemia).
- Gynecological diseases ( salpingitis, cystitis, urethritis ).
- Infectious diseases of the biliary tract ( cholangitis, cholecystitis ).
- Empirical therapy for neutropenic fever.
- Intra-abdominal infections ( peritonitis ).
- Preventive procedures for complications in surgery (intra-abdominal).
- Osteomyelitis.
Children and teenagers:
- Infectious diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue.

- Septicemia.
The drug has a strong antibacterial effect, so before taking it, the doctor evaluates all possible risks to the body.
Release form
The drug is available in the form of powder for intravenous injections. The active ingredient is cebopime - cebopime dihydrochloride monohydrate, the excipients of the drug are L-arginine.
The drug is available in various volumes. There are 1 and 2 g bottles, each package contains five bottles of the drug. Syringes of the appropriate volume are used for injections, that is, three- or two-component. The drug is available only on prescription from the attending physician.
Pharmacodynamics
Pharmacodynamics Cebopime acts on the body by inhibiting bacterial synthesis. The drug has a broad spectrum of action, relative to gram-positive and negative bacteria. The drug quickly penetrates bacterial cells due to its high resistance to beta-lactamase hydrolysis. Cebopime has an effect on:
Gram-positive aerobes
- Staphylococcus epidermidis.
- Streptococcus pneumoniae.
- Staphylococcus aureus and others.
Gram-negative aerobes:
- Proteus sp.
- Gardnerella vaginalis.
- Pseudomonas sp.
- Hafnia alvei.
- Morganella morganii and others.
Anaerobes:
- Veillonella sp.
- Bacteroides sp.
- Peptostreptococcus sp.
- Mobiluncus sp.
Pharmacokinetics
The pharmacokinetics of cebopime are the processes of absorption and distribution of the active substance of the drug throughout the body. The drug is well distributed throughout the body and is localized in the peritoneal fluid, sputum, gall bladder, urine and bile. The half-life of cebopime is 2-3 hours. In patients without diseases with complications, accumulation of the drug does not occur.
The drug is excreted in urine, i.e. due to the kidneys. About 85% of the substance is excreted in urine, depending on the dose used. By binding to plasma proteins, the drug is not concentrated in the blood serum and its volume does not exceed 15-19%.
Dosing and administration
The method of administration and dosage of the drug are prescribed by the doctor, but before taking the drug, each patient is given a skin test for antibiotic tolerance. As a rule, the drug is administered intramuscularly every 12 hours. Treatment can last from 10 to 12 days, and in severe infections up to 24 days.
Recommendations for the use of cebopime in adult patients:
- Urinary tract infections - every 12 hours 1g (500 mg) intravenously or intramuscularly.
- Moderately severe infectious diseases – 1 g intravenously or intramuscularly every 12 hours.
- Severe infectious diseases (including life-threatening diseases) – 2 g intravenously every 8-12 hours.
Recommendations for the use of the drug cebopime for children:
- When prescribing the drug for children aged 1 to 2 months, it is administered every 8-12 hours at 30 mg/kg of body weight.
- When prescribing cebopime to children over two months, 50 mg/kg is administered every 12 hours.
- The dosage of the drug for children weighing 40 kg or more is the same as for adults.

Children are allowed to take the drug from the first month of life and only with the permission and recommendations of a doctor.
Contraindications
The main contraindications to the use of cebopime are individual intolerance to the drug and active substances in its composition. Before using cebopime, the patient is asked about the presence of allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to this antibacterial drug.
Before taking cebopime, patients with a high risk of developing severe infectious diseases undergo complex antimicrobial therapy. Contraindications for the use of the drug include problems with the gastrointestinal tract, since cebopime can cause severe diarrhea and pseudomembranous colitis. Taking the drug does not affect the reaction rate when working with mechanisms or driving vehicles.

In case of an overdose of the drug, the patient may experience impaired consciousness, encephalopathy, coma, convulsive reaction, stupor, and even an epileptic seizure.
To get rid of an overdose, it is necessary to stop using the drug and conduct symptomatic therapy. In case of severe allergic reactions and overdose, intensive therapy with adrenaline is used. But most often, in case of an overdose of cebopime, hemodialysis is used.
Interactions with other drugs
Interaction of cebopime with other drugs is permitted only on the recommendations and permission of the attending physician. The drug interacts with such drugs as:
- 5% or 10% glucose solutions
- 0.9% sodium chloride solution
- sodium lactate injection solution
- 5% dextrose solution for injection.
To avoid side effects, cebopime is not administered simultaneously with other antibacterial drugs and lactam antibiotics. Also, cebopime is not used with solutions of vancomycin, netilmicin sulfate, metronidazole. If the treatment involves the use of cebopime with the above solutions, then all drugs are administered separately.
Storage conditions
Storage conditions for cebopime include storing the drug in a dark, cool place, protected from sunlight. The storage temperature of the drug should not exceed 30 °C.
Solutions of the drug, which are prepared in advance for intravenous and intramuscular injections, are stable for 24 hours, i.e. a day. If the storage conditions are met at room temperature. If the drug is stored at a temperature of 2–8 °C, it can be used for 7 days.
