Terzhinan is a combined antimycotic and antibacterial drug for the elimination of gynecological pathologies.
Its therapeutic activity is associated with the properties of the elements of the drug. The multivalent formula of the drug promotes a full-fledged local therapy for vaginitis of any nature: parasitic, infectious or mixed. [1]
Additional elements of the drug contribute to the preservation of the integrity of the vaginal epithelium in case of infections occurring with inflammation, and also maintain the physiological parameters of the pH balance. [2]
Indications Terzhinan
It is used for the following violations:
- bacterial vaginitis (standard pyogenic microflora);
- non-specific form of vaginitis, which has a recurrent nature;
- vaginosis of bacterial origin;
- vaginitis , which has a Trichomonas or fungal (candida albicans) nature;
- vaginitis with mixed genesis (the influence of anaerobic microflora, which contains Trichomonas with gardnerella and yeast-like fungi);
- prevention of the development of complications that have an inflammatory-purulent nature before small and extensive operations in the pelvic area (abortion or childbirth procedure, metrosalpingography, before and also after: the introduction of a contraceptive into the uterus, diathermocoagulation and other operations).
Release form
The release of drugs is made in the form of vaginal tablets - 6 or 10 pieces inside the cell plate. There is 1 such plate inside the pack.
Pharmacodynamics
Ternidazole demonstrates activity against anaerobes, including gardnerella, and at the same time has a trichomonacid effect.
Neomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside that acts against pyogenic vaginal bacteria.
Nystatin is an antimycotic from the polyene group that has an effect against candida fungi. [3]
Prednisolone Na metasulfobenzoate is a corticosteroid with a local anti-inflammatory effect.
Dosing and administration
The medicine is injected deep into the vagina in portions of 1 tablet per day (the procedure is performed before bedtime). When using drugs during the day, the patient should remain in a horizontal position for a period of 10-15 minutes after the procedure. The continuous therapeutic course lasts 10 days.
In the case of vaginitis with a candidal nature, treatment lasts 20 days. You need to continue the course with the onset of menstruation.
Before the introduction of the medicine, the tablet must be held under water for half a minute to soften it.
- Application for children
It is forbidden to use the medicine in pediatrics.
Use Terzhinan during pregnancy
You can not enter Terzhinan in the 1st trimester. In the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, as well as during breastfeeding, the medication can be prescribed exclusively by the doctor with strict need.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated to prescribe to people with a history of allergy symptoms associated with the action of active and additional components of drugs.
