Licorice syrup for what cough?

Licorice is effective against various types of cough. It softens the throat well in case of dry, irritating cough, relieves inflammation, prevents the development of an infectious process, prevents the spread of infection along the descending respiratory tract. In particular, licorice does not allow the development of an inflammatory process in the pharynx, trachea, bronchi, and especially the lungs. It stops any cough and inflammatory process at the level of the nasopharynx, maximum - the pharynx.

Licorice also has a positive effect on wet coughs, as it helps to transform this type of cough into a more severe, expectorant form, in which accumulated phlegm is expelled. Accordingly, the inflammatory process is reduced, and the cough disappears.

With a dry cough, it may seem at first glance that there has been a deterioration, since the cough goes from an unproductive form, in which there is no expectoration, sputum discharge, to a productive form, which is accompanied by intense sputum discharge. At the same time, the victim feels much better, since a dry cough is usually painful, prolonged, unproductive. With this form of cough, expectoration, and accordingly, relief does not occur, the person experiences constant tension, stress.

How to take licorice syrup for cough?

The syrup can be taken ready-made, purchased at a pharmacy. To do this, you need to mix it thoroughly before use, since all the active substances settle to the bottom. Then drink a tablespoon three times a day. It is not recommended to wash it down with water or dissolve it in water.

You can also drink the syrup as an additive to tea, prepare a solution. For this, about 2 tablespoons of syrup, in pure, undiluted form. Mix with warm, boiled water or tea. Allow to brew for 5-10 minutes.

Drink a tablespoon as the cough appears, 3-6 tablespoons per day. You can drink as an independent remedy, can be included in the composition of complex therapy.

Licorice extract itself acts as the main active ingredient. Additional components include sugar syrup and ethyl alcohol. Licorice is also called licorice. The main components of licorice are tannins, carbohydrates, essential oils, various acids and steroids.

They have a stimulating effect on the body, as a result of which the endocrine glands and respiratory tract are activated, and phlegm is liquefied, making expectoration easier.
