Silix is an effective medicine that has intensive sorption activity.

When absorbed into the body, the medication ensures the synthesis and excretion of toxins of endogenous and exogenous origin, bacterial endotoxins, microbial and food allergens, and in addition to this, also toxic elements that are formed during the intestinal breakdown of proteins.

The drug is almost not absorbed, penetrating into the intestine.

Indications Seelix

It is used for intestinal pathologies in the active phase, during which diarrhea syndrome is observed (including food-related intoxications, as well as salmonellosis ). It is also prescribed for the combined treatment of viral hepatitis subtypes A or B.

Release form

The drug is produced in the form of oral powder for the preparation of suspension. It is contained inside sachets (volume 1-2 g) or sticks (volume 1 g), as well as inside bottles with a capacity of 12 g. Inside the box there are 24 sachets or sticks or 1 bottle.

Dosing and administration

Silix is used in the form of a water-based suspension taken orally 60 minutes before meals or medication. If it is impossible to take the enterosorbent on your own, the medicine is administered to the patient using a probe.

To prepare the suspension, add 0.25 l of pre-cooled boiled water into a bottle with a capacity of 12 g (bring the volume of liquid to the 0.25 l mark on the bottle, then shake it a little). One full tablespoon contains 20 ml of such a suspension - this corresponds to approximately 1 g of the drug.

If you are using a medicine in sticks (volume 1 g) or sachets (volume 1 or 2 g), you need to pour it into a glass, then add boiled cooled liquid in a proportion of 20 ml/g, and then shake this mixture a little.

In pediatrics, the following daily portions are used:

  • age in the range of 1-3 children - 1-2 years;
  • category 4-7 years – introduction of 2-3 g;
  • children aged 8-10 years – intake of 4-5 g;
  • teenagers 11-13 years old – use 5-6 g;
  • adolescent group 14-15 years old – use of 7-8 g;
  • persons aged 16-18 years – introduction 9-10 years.

Adults should take 12 g of the medicine per day.

The daily dosage of the suspension must be taken in 3 doses (for both children and adults).

In case of active phase intestinal pathologies, it is necessary to administer a 1-time portion, which will not exceed half of the daily norm. The treatment cycle lasts 3-5 days; if necessary, it can be extended to 10-15 days.

For viral hepatitis, the treatment course using the above dosages lasts 7-10 days (taking into account the intensity of the disease).

  • Application for children

It is not used in infants under 12 months of age, because there is no information regarding the administration of the drug to patients in this age group.

Use Seelix during pregnancy

It is prohibited to use Silix during pregnancy or breastfeeding - because there is no information regarding its use during these periods.

Contraindications

Main contraindications:

  • severe intolerance associated with a drug;
  • an ulcer affecting the gastrointestinal tract in the active phase;
  • erosions and ulcers affecting the mucous membranes of the large and small intestines;
  • intestinal obstruction.

Side effects Seelix

Occasionally, use of the medication causes temporary constipation.

Overdose

There is no information on the development of Silix intoxication. In case of using excessively large doses of the drug, complications of the emptying processes may develop.

Interactions with other drugs

Combined administration of the drug with aspirin potentiates the progress of platelet disaggregation.

It is also necessary to use Silix 60 minutes before taking other medications.

Storage conditions

Silix must be stored in a place inaccessible to children. The temperature level should not exceed 250C.

Shelf life

Silix can be used for a 3-year period from the date of production of the therapeutic substance. The shelf life of the finished suspension is 24 hours (at a temperature in the range of 2-8 ° C).

The analogs of the drug are Atoxil, Sorbentgel, Polysorb with Benta, Smectite with Maxisorb, and also Filtrum with Ultrasorb, Polyphepan, Enterosgel and Smecta.
