A natural preparation based on chlorophyll from eucalyptus leaves can compete with antibiotics in the treatment of sore throat. It contains antibacterial substances that are active against many pathogenic organisms, and especially against staphylococci. Therefore, there is no need to doubt whether chlorophyllipt helps with sore throat. It is very effective if the sore throat is caused by staphylococcus, and quite often this is the case. Acute inflammation of the tonsils occurs with high temperature, fever, systemic malaise and the formation of abscesses in the throat. Often, untreated sore throat turns into chronic tonsillitis. The disease often causes complications in the joints, heart and kidneys. And, unlike synthetic antibiotics, the use of a natural antiseptic from eucalyptus leaves can stop the development of staphylococcus in the tonsils and prevent the infection from spreading throughout the body. These pathogens, having acquired resistance to many antibiotics, did not develop resistance to chlorophyllipt, since it is capable of neutralizing the plasmids of bacterial resistance to the action of antibiotics.
In addition, a great advantage of a natural antibacterial agent is the absence of such undesirable effects that develop from taking antibiotics, such as disruption of the microflora of the mucous membranes - diarrhea, thrush, stomatitis, as well as neuropsychiatric disorders and liver failure, chlorophyllipt will certainly not cause.
Indications Chlorophyllipt for sore throat.
As an independent drug or in combination with antibiotics for acute and chronic inflammatory processes in the nasopharynx, caused mainly by staphylococcal infection, as well as other pathogens, including streptococcus.
For throat diseases, chlorophyll from eucalyptus leaves is used locally for gargling and irrigation of the throat, lubrication of the tonsils, dissolution under the tongue (tablet form), solution for oral administration and intravenous injections (for severe forms in hospital).
Chlorophyllipt is used for tonsillitis as an external remedy or in the form of sublingual tablets in order to eliminate infection, stop the inflammatory process and exacerbation or prevent it.
Chlorophyllipt for purulent tonsillitis is used locally and internally to eliminate purulent plugs, relieve pain, reduce inflammation and prevent complications.
Chlorophyllipt is used for herpetic sore throat mainly externally as an anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory agent, as well as to prevent the development of a bacterial infection.
Infection of the throat is often accompanied by the spread of infection to the mucous membrane of the nose. Chlorophyllipt for the nose can be used to destroy the infection and ease breathing in case of sinusitis, bacterial rhinitis, adenoiditis.

Release form
The pharmaceutical industry produces oil and alcohol solutions packaged in bottles; liquid form in aerosol packaging and sublingual tablets.
Oil Chlorophyllipt for sore throat and exacerbations of chronic tonsillitis is intended for treating tonsils with tampons soaked in the solution. In cases of damage to the mucous membrane of the nasal passages (sinusitis, emoiditis, rhinitis), it can be instilled into the nose.
Chlorophyllipt alcohol is used for sore throat to prepare a solution to gargle with, sometimes it is used to treat inflammatory lesions on the tonsils, but you can get a burn of the mucous membrane.
Adult patients are allowed to take both oil and diluted alcohol solutions of chlorophyllipt orally for sore throat.
The most convenient form for local use is Chlorophyllipt-spray for sore throat. It does not require additional efforts for preparation before use. In addition to the alcohol extract of Chlorophyllipt, it contains glycerin, which softens the burning effect of alcohol.
However, not all patients tolerate throat irrigation or tampon treatment well. An alternative may be lozenges, which in addition to eucalyptus extract include sugar, citric acid, calcium and cellulose.
Chlorophyllipt solution is also available in ampoules for injections, but in this form it is used in severe cases in a hospital setting.
Pharmacodynamics
Chlorophyllipt has an antibacterial effect (destroys or stops their growth and development) on many pathogenic microorganisms. Staphylococci are especially sensitive to it. Eucalyptus phytoncides are also destructive for streptococci.
It combines well with antibiotics, enhancing their effect, since it has the ability to disrupt the resistance of pathogens to antibacterial drugs.
In addition, it stimulates tissue saturation with oxygen, eliminating their hypoxia, has a good ability to relieve symptoms of intoxication and inflammation, which is valuable in cases of reduced immunity in patients with acute and chronic forms of the disease.
Pharmacokinetics
Studies of the general effect of Chlorophyllipt on the body have not been conducted, however, with external use, systemic absorption and action are unlikely.
When studying the effects of the drug when administered intravenously, no undesirable effects were found: mutagenic, carcinogenic, teratogenic or embryotoxic, therefore, it can be assumed that oral administration should also not pose a danger.
Dosing and administration
The oil solution is used as follows:
- three to four times a day, treat the tonsils with a swab soaked in the solution;
- orally - adults take a teaspoon 30 minutes before meals four times a day for a week, or drip five to ten drops into each nostril while lying on your back, keeping it there for about a quarter of an hour.
The instructions for the alcohol solution often do not indicate how to dilute Chlorophyllipt for sore throat. Apparently, the manufacturers do not intend such use of their product. Although gargling with Chlorophyllipt for ENT diseases has been practiced for a long time.
The alcohol solution for rinsing is diluted with water in the proportions of one teaspoon per 200 ml of boiled warm, but not hot, water.
For oral administration, it is diluted with water in proportions of 1:5, the unit of measurement is a teaspoon. Take three times a day 30 minutes before meals.
Irrigation is done by pressing the spray valve twice, three to four times a day.
The tablets are completely dissolved in the mouth every four hours, without fixing them in the cheek or under the tongue, to avoid irritation in this area. The maximum daily dose for adults is five tablets.
Gargling with Chlorophyllipt, irrigation or sucking on tablets should be done after meals, and then wait for some time (at least half an hour) during which you do not need to eat or drink anything.
Application for children
In the instructions from manufacturers of products based on eucalyptus leaf extract, there is no uniformity regarding the age of patients from which the use of the herbal preparation in pediatric practice is permitted. Many do not recommend using their products for treating children at all, citing the lack of experience in using them in this category of patients. When it comes to children, we must mean the population aged from birth to 17 full years.
Other instructions stipulate the use of all forms in children aged 12 and older. In any case, it is certainly not worth using Chlorophyllipt for the throat of infants, and, frankly speaking, this procedure is difficult to imagine.
At the same time, the drug is natural, non-toxic, does not cause side effects typical of antibiotics and can really help. So, parents together with their local pediatrician should decide whether it is possible to treat a child with Chlorophyllipt.
At the very least, the child should be taught to gargle without swallowing the solution, to dissolve the tablet instead of chewing and swallowing it. The easiest way is to lubricate the tonsils with an oil solution, however, not every child will calmly allow such a procedure. The same applies to the spray.
Use Chlorophyllipt for sore throat. during pregnancy
In the absence of an allergic reaction to eucalyptus leaves, it is quite safe for women to use Chlorophyllipt solution or spray externally during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Although it is better to discuss this issue with a doctor. Regarding internal use, a doctor's consultation is required.
Manufacturers do not recommend using Chlorophyllipt for this category of patients, citing that they have not conducted studies of the effectiveness and safety of the drug specifically for them. But logic suggests that eucalyptus leaves, which do not have teratogenic, embryotoxic and other effects, are unlikely to cause more harm than, for example, amoxicillin.
Contraindications
Chlorophyllipt of any form cannot be used by people with allergies to the components included in its composition. Eucalyptus extract itself can cause a sensitization reaction - the plant has a strong taste and smell. In addition, all preparations contain additional components.
To determine sensitivity to the drug, you need to do a test, for example, apply a little oil solution (spray) to the mucous membrane of the lip, rinse your mouth with the solution once, suck on a tablet a little. If after six to eight hours there is no redness, swelling or itching (a slight short-term tingling does not count), you can begin treatment in the recommended doses.

The storage location must be inaccessible to children.
Analogues
Similar action is provided by multiple antibiotics of natural, semi-synthetic and synthetic origin. For angina, penicillin drugs are usually prescribed: Ampicillin, Ampiox, Amoxicillin, Flemoxin Solutab and others. However, these are antibiotics…
To gargle with a sore throat, you can prepare an infusion of eucalyptus leaves, chamomile flowers and calendula, taken in equal parts.
Sprays based on natural ingredients: Aqualor (sea water, aloe extract, chamomile); Proposol (propolis, glycerin, alcohol); with antiseptics - Hexoral, Stopangin (with hexetidine and natural ingredients); based on iodine - Lugol, Yoks; with anesthetic effect - Orasept, Anti-angin, Kameton.
Throat lozenges and pastilles – Strepsils, Septolete, Faringosept.
This list can be continued indefinitely. The choice of the drug depends on tolerance and preferences. Compared to most of the listed products, Chlorophyllipt is, firstly, natural, and secondly, effective.
Reviews about it are very different, and it cannot be otherwise. Some do not like its taste, others - the smell. It helps many very well. Most positive reviews are about lozenges. They do not contain any unpleasant components - no burning alcohol, no nasty oil. They do not cause a gag reflex when used, the taste and smell are quite acceptable.
Doctors' opinions on Chlorophyllipt treatment are diametrically opposed. There are some supporters of natural remedies who believe that it is possible to cure angina without using medications. However, most specialists, without denying the benefits of Chlorophyllipt, still believe that in serious cases antibiotics are indispensable. And eucalyptus extract will enhance their effect and make the treatment more effective.
