Indications Rabizol
Indications for use Rabizol based on the mechanism of action of its active component - rabeprazole. The drug is used to treat such diseases:
- Duodenal ulcer
- Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (under the condition of complex therapy with other antimicrobial drugs selected by the doctor)
- Stomach ulcer
- Exacerbation of chronic gastritis
- Not ulcerative indigestion
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease
One of the features of using this medication is that before the therapy it is necessary to undergo a medical examination to exclude malignant tumors. If tablets are prescribed for patients with severe impairment of liver and kidney function, early medical treatment requires strict medical supervision.
Release form
Tablet form of release significantly facilitates the process of taking the medicine. Since the patient has the opportunity to choose the necessary dosage and calculate the number of tablets for the full course of treatment.
The tablets are covered with an enteric-coated membrane, round, biconvex, smooth on both sides, light yellow (10 mg) and light pink (20 mg). In one package, 1-2 strips of 14 tablets. The active substance - rabeprazole, auxiliary: magnesium light oxide, sodium croscarmellose (AC-DI-SOL), hydroxypropyl cellulose, polyethylene glycol 6000, mannitol and others.
Pharmacodynamics
Pharmacodynamics Rabizol is a mechanism of its action. The drug is classified as an antisecretory compound that is substituted by benzamidazolam (chemically). The drug does not possess anticholinergic properties, but by inhibiting the enzyme H + / K + -ATPase inhibits the secretion of gastric acid on the secretory surface of parietal cells of the gastric mucosa. The enzyme system described above refers to inhibitors of acid pumps, since rabeprazole blocks the production of acid in the final stage, turning into an active substance - sulfonamide.
After taking Rabizol within an hour, an antisecretory effect occurs, the duration of which is 2-4 hours. Suppression of the function of stimulating food by acid secretion occurs 20-23 hours after the administration of the first dose. The duration of this effect is 48 hours and does not increase with prolonged use of the drug. After the end of the course of treatment, the secretory activity is restored within 2-3 days.
The intake of 10-20 mg of rabeprazole increases the concentration of gastrin (a hormone produced by the cells of the stomach and pancreas) in the blood serum, which inhibits the secretion of acid. This effect is observed with a regular intake of the drug for 12 months. The hormone returns to normal within 1-2 weeks after the end of treatment. To date, there is no reliable data on the systemic effects caused by the drug from the respiratory, cardiovascular and CNS.
Pharmacokinetics
Information on the pharmacokinetics of Rabizol allows you to learn about the processes that occur with the drug after ingestion.
- Absorption - tablets are covered with an enteric coating, so they dissolve and are absorbed in the intestine, and not in the stomach. After 2-4 hours after administration, the maximum concentration in the blood plasma is observed. Bioavailability depends on the dosage. If 20 mg was taken, the bioavailability is 52%, taking into account the first passage through the liver.
- Distribution - binding of the active substance with blood proteins at the level of 97%.
- Metabolism and excretion - 90% is excreted by the kidneys in the form of metabolites, the remaining 10% with feces.
Dosing and administration
The method of administration and dose are individual for each patient and depend on the indications for use. If a patient has a peptic ulcer, peptic ulcer of the stomach or GERD, then 20 mg once a day is used for therapy (if necessary, the dosage is increased). Duration of treatment for these diseases takes from 2 to 8 weeks, if maintenance therapy is provided, then the tablets are taken within 12 months.
Ulcerative dyspepsia is treated with 20-40 mg of rabeprazole for a month. To treat chronic gastritis appoint 40 mg per day for 3-4 weeks. The Zollinger-Ellison syndrome is treated by taking 20-120 mg of the drug, the duration of treatment is 2-8 weeks. If the medicine is used to eradicate N. Rublori, then a combined scheme is used and the dosage of all drugs is selected by the attending physician.

Interactions with other drugs
Interaction Rabizol with other drugs is used in the case when there is a medical need and the doctor picked up the dosage of all medicines. Since rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor, it causes a prolonged decline in the production of hydrochloric acid and can interact with other agents whose absorption is completely dependent on the pH of the stomach contents.
When used with ketoconazole and digoxin, rabeprazole reduces their concentration in the blood plasma. With the simultaneous use of Rabizol with any medication, medical control is required for timely dose adjustment.
