Rabeprazole-health is based on the mechanism of action of its components. The product is effective in the treatment and prevention of:

• Peptic ulcer of the duodenum (in the acute stage)
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
• Gastric ulcer (benign)
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (erosive, ulcerative)
• Symptomatic therapy for moderate to very severe GERD
• Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with active antibacterial drugs.

Before starting the use, the patient must undergo an examination to exclude the possibility of malignant lesions of the stomach. The drug is prescribed with special caution to patients with severe renal and hepatic dysfunction. If the tablets cause drowsiness, then in order to undergo a full course of treatment, it is necessary to abandon activities that require increased concentration.

Release form

Release form - tablets No. 10 with a dosage of 10 and 20 mg. The tablets are biconvex, covered with an enteric coating of brown-red (10 mg) or brown-yellow (20 mg).

One tablet contains the active ingredient - sodium rabeprazole and excipients (mannitol, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, mannitol and others).

Pharmacodynamics

Pharmacodynamics Rabeprazole-health indicates its antisecretory properties. The drug belongs to antiulcer proton pump inhibitors. The active substance gradually accumulates in the acidic environment of the cells of the gastric mucosa and passes into the active form - sulfenamide. The active metabolite inhibits H +, K + - ATPase, blocks the secretion of hydrochloric acid due to the cessation of the release of hydrogen ions into the gastric cavity.

It has bactericidal properties against Helicobacter pylori and accelerates the anti-Helicobacter activity of other antibiotics. A dose of 20 mg leads to inhibition of gastric secretion within 60 minutes and reaches its maximum after 3-4 hours. Inhibition of basal and stimulated secretion lasts for 48 hours. A stable antisecretory effect occurs 72 hours after the start of treatment. After the end of treatment, parietal cells are restored after 2-3 days.

Pharmacokinetics Rabeprazole-health is an algorithm of action of active components after ingestion. Tablets are completely and quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Bioavailability is 52% (subject to passage through the liver) and does not increase with repeated use.

Food intake and time of day do not affect absorption. Blood protein binding is 97%. The drug is metabolized in the liver with the active participation of cytochrome P450 enzymes. 90% of the active components are excreted in the urine as metabolites, and the remaining 10% in the feces.

Dosing and administration

The method of administration and dosage depend on the indications for use of the drug, so they should be selected by a doctor for each patient individually. In case of exacerbation of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, take 20 mg 1-2 times a day. The course of treatment takes 4 weeks, if there is no scarring, then 8 weeks, if the ulcer is localized in the duodenum - 6-12 weeks.

For the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux, 20 mg is prescribed 1-2 times a day for 4-8 weeks. The maintenance dose is 10-20 mg/day of the drug. For Helicobacter pylori infection, the drug is used as part of a triple eradication treatment regimen. Rabeprazole 20 mg is used simultaneously with amoxicillin 1000 mg and clarithromycin 500 mg, the duration of treatment is 7-10 days.

Use Rabeprazole-health during pregnancy

The use of Rabeprazole-Health during pregnancy is not recommended. To date, there is no reliable data on its safety for the human body. Reproductive function studies were conducted on animals, but did not provide evidence of fertility disorders or other side effects for the fetus. However, long-term use of rabeprazole provoked minor placental penetration in rats.

Rabeprazole-health penetrates into breast milk, so it is prohibited to use it during lactation. The drug is not prescribed to minors, since there is not enough information about such therapy.

Contraindications

Overdose

Overdose occurs when the recommended course of treatment is exceeded and high doses of the drug are used. Side effects include headaches and dizziness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation.

Symptomatic supportive therapy is used for treatment. Dialysis is not used, as it is ineffective. In any case, if symptoms of overdose occur, it is necessary to contact the attending physician to adjust the dose of the medication.

Interactions with other drugs

Interaction Rabeprazole-health with other drugs is used with a doctor's permission and in the complex therapy of certain diseases. If the drug is used with ketoconazole, this leads to a decrease in its concentration in the blood plasma and an increase in the level of digoxin. The drug has no clinically significant interactions with drugs that are metabolized in CYP (diazepam, phenytoin, theophylline).

The active substance causes a long-term decrease in the production of hydrochloric acid, so it functions normally with medications whose absorption depends on the pH of the stomach contents. If the drug is used simultaneously with ketoconazole or itraconazole, this leads to a decrease in their concentration in the blood plasma. Therefore, when using these drugs, medical supervision and dosage adjustment are required. Rabeprazole does not interact with antacids such as magnesium or aluminum hydroxide. Low-fat foods do not affect absorption. But when using the drug with fatty foods, absorption is delayed for 4 or more hours, the maximum concentration remains unchanged.

Storage conditions

Storage conditions Rabeprazole-health - tablets should be stored in a dry place, protected from sunlight and out of reach of children. The storage temperature should not exceed 25 °C.
