It must be said that preparations in the form of pastes and ointments, as well as cosmetic creams that help to combat the problem of excessive sweating, are more trusted than tablets and solutions.
Pasta Teymurova
This paste refers to the category of dermatological agents used in mycosis of the legs, diaper rash in bedridden patients, a pathology like hyperhidrosis and simply with increased sweating of a hereditary nature.
Pharmacodynamics. If you carefully read its composition, you can see several familiar names, which we already mentioned in our article: boric acid (antiseptic and fungistatic action), salicylic acid (antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect), formaldehyde (disinfectant, antifungal and deodorizing action). Tetraborate sodium and hexamethylenetetramine show effects similar to boric acid and formaldehyde, and zinc oxide and lead acetate in addition to the antimicrobial effect provide an additional absorbent and astringent effect.
And although the pharmacokinetics of Teimurov paste has not been studied, it is assumed that with chronic kidney diseases, acute inflammatory skin diseases, subcutaneous tissue and soft tissues, spasmophilia and bronchial asthma, the drug should not be used. It is clear that the drug can not be used for hypersensitivity to its components, as well as apply it to damaged areas of the skin due to the danger of penetration of certain toxic components of the drug into the systemic bloodstream.
Contraindication to the use of Teimurov paste is also pregnancy and lactation. Do not apply the drug and in pediatric practice for the treatment of patients younger than 14 years of age.
Paste Teymurova - a serious drug, which is characterized by certain side effects, especially since its composition has several toxic substances. The most common complaints are local (skin irritation, accompanied by burning and flaking) and allergic (skin flushing, rash, anaphylaxis) reactions, nausea and headaches.
Prolonged use of the drug in large doses leads to the appearance of signs of an overdose : an increase in the described side effects, the emergence of vomiting and noise in the ears; marked twilight of consciousness, stomach pain, diarrhea, rapid breathing, heart and kidney failure develop.
Well, now about the good. If Teimurov paste 2 or 3 times a day is applied to the underarm area for a certain period of time (discussed with the doctor), you can notice a decrease in sweating and the disappearance of an unpleasant odor of sweat.
In principle, if excessive sweating is not associated with diseases, it is enough to apply the drug to clean, dry skin with a thin layer only once a day before bedtime. In the morning, the skin needs to be cleaned of the remnants of the paste and lubricated with a cream that saturates the skin with moisture and nutrients.
It is not recommended to use Teimurov's paste in the daytime if you need to leave the house. Yes, the composition of the medicine contains a flavoring in the form of essential oil of mint, so that a pleasant smell of armpits is provided. But the paste itself can stain clothes, leaving not wet, but fatty traces on it, which is even more unaesthetic than stains from sweat. In addition, the removal of these tracks is quite difficult.
Interaction with other drugs. Apply the paste to the skin, previously cleaned from external means.
All negative interactions of the drug are associated with salicylic acid, which is part of its composition. Preparations that are undesirable to use simultaneously with Teimurov paste: NSAIDs, especially those containing acetylsalicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide-based drugs, vitamin A, methotrexate, some diabetics.
Store the described means from a sweating of axillas at temperature to 15 degrees no more than one and a half years.
Despite the effectiveness of Teymurov's paste, before using this product it is worthwhile to think whether it is safer than popular antiperspirants if it contains formaldehyde and lead in its composition. In European countries, miracle agents have already refused this, despite the manufacturers' assertion that the dosage of hazardous substances in the preparation is so small that it is not capable of causing great harm to the body. In principle, developers of modern antiperspirants say the same thing, which does not make the latter more attractive from the point of view of influence on the body.
Apparently still Taimurov paste should be used only in case of serious problems with sweating, when safer means do not give effect.
Pasta Lassara
This drug has another name - salicylic-zinc paste. This name was given to the drug due to its active ingredients: salicylic acid and zinc oxide. As you can see, Lassara paste has a more sparing composition, therefore it is widely used for the treatment of various skin diseases, including acne, small wounds and diaper rash.
Pharmacodynamics. The effect of the drug depends on the components that make up its composition. We know that salicylic acid shows an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, in parallel reducing the secretion of sweat and sebaceous glands. For zinc oxide, the expressed antimicrobial effect is not characteristic, but it has remarkable absorbent and astringent properties, which helps to remove the inflammation at the site of application, which is characteristic for sweating.
Pharmacokinetics. The external use of the drug almost completely eliminates the possibility of the active ingredients of the paste entering the blood.
Do not apply Lassar paste in such cases:
- if a person has an intolerance of even one of the components of the drug,
- in the case of acute purulent inflammation and deep lesions on the skin at the site of application,
Caution should be observed with ulcers of the gastrointestinal tract, hemorrhagic diathesis, renal pathology with a violation of their work, anemia, poor blood coagulability. It is not advisable to use Lassar paste during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is rather not about complete rejection of the drug, but about a short course of treatment for small areas of the body with no damage to the skin, allowing active components to penetrate into the blood.
In pediatrics, the use of medication is limited because of insufficient information on the pharmacokinetics of the drug.
Side effects of the drug are reduced to rare manifestations of allergic reactions and local symptoms in the form of burning, itching, drying out of the skin and rashes on it. If the drug is used on large areas of the body, more serious symptoms are possible: dizziness, fainting, convulsive syndrome, failure of the respiratory rhythm, etc.
Method of administration and dose for sweating of the armpits. Despite the fact that the instruction contains an item on the undesirable use of salicylic-zinc paste on heavily wet areas of the body (and armpits are those), statistics show that it is in the fight against hyperhidrosis that the drug shows good results, regardless of the strong sweat of the foot or armpits.
Apply the medicine to dry skin, freed from contamination and various external agents (medicines, cosmetics, etc.). Ointment is applied to the skin 2, and sometimes 3 times a day. With the permission of the doctor, the frequency of drug use can be increased. The course of treatment should not be longer than a month.
The drug contains starch and petroleum jelly, which can leave unsightly marks on clothes. As an option, you can buy special pads that are attached to clothes in the armpits.
Using Lassar paste, one should remember the negative interactions of salicylic acid with other preparations described in the annotation to Teimurov paste, which also contains this component.
Store salicylic-zinc paste in a cool place away from sunlight. Under such conditions of storage of the preparation , its shelf life will be 4 and a half years.
Salicylic ointment
If suddenly there is no Lassar paste in the pharmacy, and conventional salicylic ointment with its antimicrobial action and the ability to inhibit the activity of the sweat glands, will also help fight sweating of the armpits. Its effect is milder compared to an alcohol solution of salicylic acid due to the inclusion of paraffin and the absence of such an irritant as alcohol.
To combat hyperhidrosis, 2% of the ointment, which is applied to the cleansed dry skin with armpits as well as the zinc-salicylic paste, is sufficient. 2-3 times a day. In this case, you need to monitor the results and, if necessary, reduce the amount of application of the drug per day.
Regularly apply the ointment can be no more than 20 days, after which the condition should be normalized or the doctor will appoint another course of treatment after the break. If the ointment is applied irregularly, the duration of its application should also be discussed with the doctor.
Overdose of the drug with topical application is excluded, except for prolonged use of the drug, and for oral administration, salicylic acid is not intended.
Applying salicylic ointment for any purpose, you need to pay attention to the drug drug interaction, so as not to harm yourself.
Store salicylic ointment is recommended at room temperature, protecting from exposure to direct sunlight. The drug should not be frozen. Shelf life of the ointment is 3 years.
Zinc paste and zinc ointment
These are 2 forms of a single drug, actively used as a remedy for sweating of the armpits. They differ with auxiliary substances and the content of the active component. Ointment is made on the basis of paraffin, paste - with the use of starch and Vaseline.
The active substance of the paste and ointment is zinc oxide. Its content in paste is 25%, in ointment - 10%.
Pharmacodynamics. Preparations with zinc oxide can be considered the safest means of sweat. The self-acting substance has sufficient antiseptic, astringent and drying effects, which are necessary for this problem. Thus zinc ointment is used for various skin pathologies, and paste even with diaper dermatitis in infants, which again speaks about the safety of the drug.
The drug is not used mainly only in cases of hypersensitivity to its composition. Ointment is not used to treat acute inflammation of the skin.
Method of administration and dose. An ointment based on zinc oxide can be used on dry, clean armpit skin 2 or 3 times a day, depending on the activity of the sweat glands. The duration of treatment of hyperhidrosis is determined individually.
Zinc paste can be applied to the skin without negative consequences even more than 3 times a day, if this is necessary.
Both ointment and paste are applied to the skin in a thin layer and do not require rinsing, since they form a protective film, which prevents irritation of the skin under the influence of negative factors, for example, high humidity.
Preparations with zinc oxide rarely show side effects. This is possible only with individual intolerance of the components of the drug or a tendency to allergic reactions.
Long-term use of the drug, as well as the use of large doses do not lead to the accumulation of zinc oxide in the body, so there can be no question of drug overdose. Zinc oxide does not enter into significant interactions with other drugs, which means that it can be safely applied as part of a complex treatment of pathologies accompanied by excessive sweating to combat this unpleasant symptom.
Both forms of the drug are stored at room temperatures. The permissible temperature limit is 25 degrees. Drugs are not subject to freezing. You can store the medicine in the form of a paste for 5 years, in the form of an ointment - about 8 years.
Formalin ointment
Another multicomponent ointment based on boric and salicylic acid with the addition of formalin and glycerin. This ointment is recommended specifically for excessive sweating, regardless of the cause. Ointment has a pronounced antiseptic, softening and drying effect, reduces the activity of sweat glands, which significantly reduces the amount of sweat secreted and removes an unpleasant odor.
It is not recommended to use the drug with intolerance of at least one of the components of the drug, as well as in acute purulent pathologies with the localization of inflammation on the skin surface.
Side effects include irritation at the site of ointment use and allergic reactions against a background of hypersensitivity to basic or auxiliary substances.
Apply formalin ointment to combat sweating just once a day. It is better to do this at night, having previously conducted hygienic measures. How long to continue treatment with ointment should consult a dermatologist.
Like other ointments, the drug based on formalin, boric and salicylic acid should be stored in a cool place and used until the expiration date.
Cream "Lavilin"
It is no longer a pharmacy, but a cosmetic remedy for increased sweating, made on the basis of natural components. The main active ingredients are arnica and marigold, which actively fight the smell of sweat by destroying pathogenic microorganisms. They are helped by castor oil and some other components of the cream. As part of the cosmetic product, there are also components that slightly decrease the activity of the sweat glands, but do not lead to clogging of the pores.
Cream-deodorant does not contain the usual aluminum salts, but it has a prolonged effect. Apply the cream on a clean, dry skin without the remains of other cosmetic or medicinal products needed no more than 1 time per week. In some cases, the effect lasts even longer (up to 2 weeks).
It should be understood that deodorant cream is not designed to reduce sweating, but rather to combat the unpleasant odor of sweat. Apply it to the skin before the appearance of a smell does not make sense, it does not increase the effectiveness of the remedy.
It is not recommended to use the cream on the damaged and irritated skin of the armpits, which happens after epilation. It is recommended to wait at least a day, until the irritation subsides and only then use a natural deodorant in the form of a cream, applying a small drop of funds to the area of the axillary basins and distributing it to the desired distance.
Use cream deodorant manufacturers recommend at night, so that in the morning feel confident. But even with daily use on clothes will not remain visible to the eye traces.
If earlier a person had to use other deodorizing agents, before the first application of a natural remedy, it will be necessary to wait 3-4 days until the skin is cleansed of the remnants of cosmetics or medicinal ointments.
Mirra Deo antiperspirant cream
This is an innovative cosmetological means of production in Russia, removing the smell of sweat, reducing its secretion and actively caring for the delicate skin of the armpits. For the freshness of the skin in this case corresponds to zinc ricinoleate, which is a completely safe deodorizing agent. But the properties of antiperspirant (bacteriostatic effect and decrease in sweat secretion) cream is given by less useful substances: compounds of zirconium and aluminum (the latter is not a novelty in antiperspirant medium).
Apply antiperspirant cream as needed, without worrying about the purity of clothing at hand and in other places with increased sweating, where it is necessary to apply deodorizing in a sweating sweating agent.
