Indications Nazik for children
The external medicinal product Nazik for children can be prescribed:
- in case of swelling of the nasal mucosa as a result of acute rhinitis;
- in case of mechanical damage to the mucous tissue in the nasal cavity or skin around the nostrils;
- with vasomotor rhinitis;
- for swelling of the mucous membrane after surgical procedures in the nasal cavity.
Release form
Nasik for children is available in the form of an intranasal spray, 10 ml in a bottle with a spray nozzle. The medicinal liquid is a transparent colorless solution with the main components xylometazoline and dexpanthenol. One gram of liquid contains 0.5 mg of xylometazoline and 50 mg of dexpanthenol.
Pharmacodynamics
Nasik for children is a rhinological drug that combines the properties of a sympathomimetic and an analogue of pantothenic acid. This combination allows for a vasoconstrictor and decongestant effect.
Xylometazoline hydrochloride exhibits sympathomimetic properties, facilitating nasal breathing and accelerating the removal of mucous secretions from the nose.
Dexpanthenol has biological activity similar to pantothenic acid. This vitamin accelerates metabolic processes, promotes the production of antibodies against the disease and strengthens the immune system at the local level.
Also, the drug Nazik for children provides protection of the superficial mucous layers and helps in the rapid restoration of tissues.
Pharmacokinetics
The effect of the drug is observed within 5-10 minutes after spraying.
Some of the active ingredient xylometazoline is absorbed systemically, which may affect the functioning of the nervous and cardiovascular systems.
Dexpanthenol binds to plasma proteins and is distributed throughout the circulatory system. It is assumed that approximately 65% of the dose is excreted through the kidneys and about 35% with feces. Precise data on the pharmacokinetics of the drug Nazik for children are not available.
Dosing and administration
Nasik for children is prescribed to children over 2 years old and up to 6 years old. The product is sprayed into each nostril up to 3 times a day. The bottle must be positioned vertically when spraying. Simultaneously with pressing, the baby should inhale sharply through the nose.
To avoid side effects, it is not recommended to use Nazik for children for more than one week in a row. Therefore, when treating chronic rhinitis, you should promptly replace drugs after consulting with your doctor.
Nasik for children should not be used in patients under two years of age.
Use Nazik for children during pregnancy
Nazik for children is used exclusively in pediatric practice, therefore it is not recommended for use by pregnant and lactating women.
