Release form

Nazik is available as an intranasal spray, 10 ml in a bottle with a nozzle for spraying the medicine. The medicine is a clear, colorless solution with the main ingredients xylometazoline and dexpanthenol. One spray usually contains 0.1 mg of xylometazoline and 0.5 g of dexpanthenol. The drug is available without a prescription.

Pharmacodynamics

Nazik is a complex drug that combines the action of a sympathomimetic and a vitamin B5 analogue. This combination allows for a vasoconstrictive and anti-edematous effect.

Xylometazoline hydrochloride exhibits sympathomimetic properties, improving nasal breathing and accelerating the removal of mucus from the nose.

Dexpanthenol has bioactivity similar to vitamin B5. This vitamin accelerates metabolic processes, promotes the production of antibodies and strengthens immunity at the local level.

In addition, the drug Nazik provides protection of the superficial mucous layers and helps wounds heal faster.

Pharmacokinetics

The effect of the drug is observed within 5-10 minutes after spraying.

Some of the active ingredient xylometazoline is absorbed systemically, which may affect the functioning of the nervous and cardiovascular systems.

Dexpanthenol binds to plasma proteins and is distributed throughout the circulatory system. It is estimated that approximately 65% of the dose is excreted via the kidneys and about 35% in the faeces.

Dosing and administration

Nazik is prescribed to adult patients or children over six years of age. The drug is sprayed into each nostril up to 3 times a day. The bottle must be positioned vertically when spraying. Simultaneously with pressing, the patient should inhale sharply through the nose.

To avoid side effects, it is not recommended to use Nazik for more than one week in a row. Therefore, when treating chronic rhinitis, you should promptly replace drugs after consulting with your doctor.
