Livenciale is a drug that demonstrates a powerful hepatoprotective and membrane-stabilizing effect.
The composition of the drug contains natural phospholipids obtained from soybeans. About 93-95% of all medicinal phospholipids are phosphatidylcholine, which has a high index of unsaturated fatty acids (α-linolenic, linoleic and cis-9-octadecenoic). [ 1 ]
Phospholipids from the composition of the drug have a structure similar to the internal phospholipids of the body, but they have a higher functional activity (due to linoleic acid in the 1-2 positions). [ 2 ]
Indications Liventiale
It is used in cases of fatty liver degeneration of various origins (also in cases of liver damage in diabetics), at the initial stage of liver cirrhosis, in cases of hepatitis in the active or chronic phase, and also in cases of liver intoxication.
Can be used in people who require surgery due to a disease related to the gallbladder or liver.
Can be used during pregnancy in case of toxicosis.
In addition, the drug is prescribed as an adjuvant to people with radiation poisoning or psoriasis.
Release form
The drug is released in the form of a liquid for parenteral use - inside glass ampoules with a volume of 5 ml. There are 5 such ampoules inside the box.
Livenciale Forte
Livenciale forte is produced in the form of capsules for oral use; each cell plate contains 10 capsules; a box contains 3 or 5 such plates.
Pharmacodynamics
By directly embedding natural phospholipids into the structure of the destroyed hepatocyte walls, and in addition by restoring the protective activity of the membranes, the drug realizes its membrane-stabilizing, and at the same time hepatoprotective effect. The drug increases the functionality and plasticity of the hepatocyte walls, and at the same time stabilizes their strength.
Livenciale exhibits some antioxidant activity, prevents damage to liver cell walls under the influence of peroxide compounds, and at the same time promotes healing processes. [ 3 ]
By stabilizing lipoprotein values, the drug prevents the occurrence of hypertriglyceridemia and -cholesterolemia, and at the same time helps to slow down the pathological accumulation of cholesterol inside tissues and regulates its movement from the vascular walls, activating the action of the esterifying cholesterol or lipolytic enzyme system.
The drug reduces the activation rates of sinusoidal cells and reduces the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL1b and TNFa within these cells.
At the same time, natural phospholipids have some antifibrotic effect.
Pharmacokinetics
After oral administration, approximately 90% of natural phospholipids are absorbed in the small intestine. Plasma Cmax values of the active element of the drug are recorded after 6-24 hours from the moment of oral administration.
The half-life of the choline element is approximately 66 hours, and that of fatty acids in an unsaturated form is 32 hours.
Dosing and administration
Use of capsules.
The medicine should be taken orally - by swallowing the capsules whole (their shell should not be damaged, as this can reduce the bioavailability of the drug). To obtain the maximum medicinal effect, the capsules are taken with food, washed down with plain water.
The duration of the therapeutic cycle and the dosage are selected by the attending physician.
The medication should be used in the initial dosage of 2 capsules (3 times a day). When the patient's condition improves, a transition to a maintenance dose is made - 1 capsule 3 times a day.
The therapeutic cycle should last for 3 months. If necessary, it can be extended or repeated after some time.
For psoriasis, 2 capsules are usually administered (3 times a day) over a period of 14 days. In the following 10 days, Livenciale should be administered as a parenteral liquid (in combination with PUVA therapy). After completing the injection cycle, capsules of the drug should be taken orally for another 2 months.
Use of injection liquid medication.
The liquid must be administered parenterally. Before use, organoleptic testing must be performed (only transparent liquid containing no particles can be administered). The drug is administered at a low rate, intravenously.
If the medicine needs to be dissolved, the patient's blood should be used for this purpose. If it is impossible to use blood, 5% xylitol or 5% (10%) glucose may be used. Dilution is done in a 1:1 ratio.
The duration of the treatment course and the selection of the dosage of the medication are determined by the attending physician.
Usually 5-10 ml of medicinal liquid is administered per day. In case of severe pathology, the daily dose is increased to 10-20 ml of the substance.
A maximum of 10 ml of Livenciale can be administered per single injection.
The drug can be used parenterally for no more than 10 days. After the injection cycle is completed, further therapy is carried out using capsules of the drug (in general, the treatment cycle lasts for 3-6 months).
In case of psoriasis, treatment begins with the use of capsules of the drug (for a period of 2 weeks), and then 5 ml of parenteral fluid is administered per day for a period of 10 days (in combination with PUVA therapy). After this, therapy continues with the use of medicinal capsules.
When treating psoriasis, the total duration of the treatment course is about 3 months.
- Application for children
In pediatrics, capsules can only be used for individuals over 12 years of age.
Parenteral fluid is used exclusively for people over 3 years of age (but it is used with great caution in children under 12 years of age, since there is a high probability of signs of intolerance appearing).
Use Liventiale during pregnancy
The drug does not have embryotoxic and teratogenic activity. Capsules or parenteral fluid can be prescribed to pregnant women by the attending physician, after assessing the likely benefits and risks.
Livenciale can be used during breastfeeding.
Contraindications
Main contraindications:
- diagnosed severe intolerance to the components of the drug;
- use in individuals with intrahepatic cholestasis.
Side effects Liventiale
Livenciale is usually tolerated without complications. Sometimes the administration of the drug caused pain and discomfort in the epigastric region, stool disorders and nausea, as well as general allergy symptoms, including epidermal itching, urticaria and Quincke's edema.
Overdose
The use of excessively high dosages may cause a potentiation of the negative effects of the drug.
The drug has no antidote. In case of severe overdose symptoms, symptomatic procedures should be performed.
Interactions with other drugs
Parenteral fluid is not compatible with electrolyte solutions.
It is prohibited to mix parenteral medication with other substances administered in the same way in the same syringe (the only exceptions are liquids used to prepare infusions).
Storage conditions
Livenciale in the form of parenteral liquid should be stored at temperatures in the range of 2-8 °C. Freezing the medicine is prohibited.
The capsules must be kept at a temperature level within the range of 15-25°C.
Shelf life
Livenciale in both forms of release can be used for a period of 36 months from the date of manufacture of the pharmaceutical element.
Analogues
An analogue of the drug is the substance Enerliv.
Reviews
Livenciale receives mostly positive reviews from patients who have used it. Among the advantages of the drug, its high therapeutic effectiveness is noted - it improves test results and removes pain. In addition, the advantages include a general improvement in the condition, a small number of side effects and contraindications, low cost of the drug and its natural composition. There are comments that the use of Livenciale helped eliminate toxicosis during pregnancy.
There are also negative reviews, but there are relatively few of them. People who left them noted the lack of the required therapeutic effect.
