The medicinal product, which is related to antidepressants of plant origin, Life 900 is developed and produced by the German company Steigerwald Arzneimittelwerk GmbH. The high efficiency of the antidepressant characteristics of this medicine has been proven by numerous clinical studies conducted on the basis of several hospitals and medical centers.
If a person is depressed or experiences prolonged depression, but the manifestations of this condition fit into the clinical picture of symptomatic manifestation of mild or moderate severity, then the drug, which belongs to antidepressants of plant origin, Life 900 is an excellent highly effective pharmacological drug that can quickly and without consequences relieve the problem. The patient regains his former confidence and efficiency, mood, and with it the quality of life, improves. There is only one "but". This drug should be prescribed only by a qualified specialist, self-treatment can only worsen the health situation, leading to severe, sometimes irreversible, complications.
Indications Life 900.
Based on the pharmacological characteristics that were obtained during the development of the drug in question, the indications for the use of Life 900 are reduced to the high-quality relief of such a pathological disorder affecting the human body as a state of depression, which is assessed as mild or moderate. In this case, a person experiences:
- Depressed mood.
- Emotional instability.
- Feeling of chronic fatigue.
- Increased irritability.
- He exhibits an inadequate reaction to external stimuli.
- A deterioration in the level of work capacity is observed.
Release form
The pharmacoproperties of the considered medical drug Life 900 are quite narrowly applicable. Its release form is not very diverse either. On the pharmacy market, this medicine is presented only in the form of tablets covered with a protective film shell and collected in a blister of 20 units.
The cardboard packaging can be made up of No. 20, No. 60 and No. 100, i.e. one, three and five blisters in a package. The concentration of the main active substance of the drug, which is dry extract of St. John's wort, is 900 mg.

Pharmacodynamics
The drug in question belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of herbal antidepressants and has the ATC code N06AP01. Therefore, the pharmacodynamics of Life 900 is directly determined by the individual characteristics of the St. John's wort extract, the active active compound of which is hypericin. It works as a defense, preventing a failure in neurotransmitter transmission. If we analyze the mechanism of this action, it turns out that hypericin to a certain extent blocks the capture of serotonin and dopamine in presynaptic neurons, norepinephrine monoamine neurotransmitters.
The main element of Life 900 effectively reduces the effectiveness of catechol-0-methyltransferase and monoamine oxidase. This substance inhibits the reproduction and spread of gram-positive bacteria that belong to such a bacterial group as Streptococcus agalactiae and Streptococcus pyogenes, it also works in the case of the presence of methicillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus or penicillin-resistant strains.
The flavonoids contained in this medicinal plant effectively affect benzodiazepine receptors, causing the process of damping the amplitude of excitation, which leads to a calming effect.
At the same time, flavonoids act as a highly effective anti-inflammatory agent.
Increased production of norepinephrine is provoked, which leads the patient's body to relieve psychological stress, relieve depressive mood and anxiety. At the same time, sleep is normalized, appetite and mood are stimulated, work capacity is increased and vitality and a feeling of vigor are restored.
Pharmacologists classify Life 900 as a low-toxic compound. But in the dosages recommended by specialists, it does not have a negative effect on the human body.
Pharmacokinetics
The pharmacokinetics of Life 900 is determined by the kinetic characteristics of the constituent components of the drug in question.
Due to their belonging to lipophilic compounds, hypericins easily cross the blood-brain membrane, exerting a positive effect on the state of the central nervous system and its performance.
After a single dose of the recommended dose of Life 900, on average, after 7.9 hours (this indicator may fluctuate ± 90 minutes due to individual characteristics of the body), the maximum concentration of hypericin is reached in the blood, which corresponds to 3.8 ng/ml. This indicator can also fluctuate within ± 1.2 ng/ml due to the individual characteristics of the patient's body.
The maximum concentration (Cmax) of pseudohypericin in the blood (with an indicator of 10.2 ± 3.9 ng/ml) is determined 2.7 hours ± 40 minutes after oral administration of Life 900.
The maximum concentration (Cmax) of hyperforin in plasma (with an indicator of 122 ± 45.5 ng/ml) is determined 4.5 hours ± 70 minutes after oral administration of Life 900.
The half-life of the drug compound (T½) for hypericin corresponds to an average time interval of 18.7 hours, which can fluctuate within the parameters of ± 4 hours 50 minutes.
The elimination half-life (T½) for pseudohypericin corresponds to a mean time interval of 17.2 hours, which can fluctuate within time limits of ± 8 hours 25 minutes.
The half-life of the pharmacological compound (T½) for hyperforin is on average 17.5 hours ± 4 hours 30 minutes.
When performing the optimal regimen of taking the drug Life 900, as confirmed by observations, physiological stability of the psychological state of patients was fixed after four days. From this period, doctors begin to record a constant - stable level of hyperforin in the patient's blood plasma.
Dosing and administration
Based on the established degree of manifestation of the psychological disorder, the course of the disease and the bouquet of concomitant pathologies in the patient’s medical history, the attending physician prescribes both the method of administration and the dosage of Life 900.
Pharmacologists recommend that an adult patient take the drug in question one tablet at a time during one day. To achieve maximum treatment efficiency, it is not recommended to chew the medicine. It is advisable to drink this medicine with a sufficient amount of water after the morning meal.
The maximum daily dosage of Life 900 is 0.9 g, which corresponds to the dose of one tablet.
The effect of the drug is cumulative, which requires its continuous use, without interruptions in taking the drug. The duration of the drug course is two weeks. But this indicator can be adjusted by a specialist depending on the severity of the pathology, the nature of its course and the effectiveness of the therapy.
If the treatment period is extended to four weeks and the expected improvement is not observed, Life 900 therapy should be stopped and help from a treating specialist should be sought.
Use Life 900. during pregnancy
The time of conception, gestation and birth of a baby is the happiest and most responsible period in the life of any woman. Many expectant mothers during this period try to minimize the use of pharmacological drugs, fearing their negative impact on the development of the fetus. And this is right. After all, any drug is a combination of substances and chemical compounds that affect the entire human body to one degree or another. This effect is especially dangerous during the period of formation of the organs and systems of the embryo, which is observed against the background of the first trimester of gestation.
Despite its naturalness, due to its production from plant materials, the safe and effective use of Life 900 during pregnancy has not been convincingly proven. Therefore, in order to avoid negative symptoms and consequences, it is worthwhile to refrain from taking Life 900 during this period, as well as during breastfeeding of a newborn baby, to relieve the depressive state of a pregnant woman.
Contraindications
To date, monitoring of the intake of the drug in question has confirmed minor contraindications to the use of Life 900. Doctors include the following as such deviations:
- Increased intolerance of the patient's body to one or more components of the drug.
- Severe depression.
- The patient has a history of photosensitivity (increased sensitivity of the body to the effects of ultraviolet or visible radiation).
- This drug is also contraindicated for children under twelve years of age.
- This drug affects reaction speed, so during the treatment period a person should not drive or operate complex (dangerous in terms of injury) mechanisms.
- Life 900 should not be taken with a number of other pharmacological agents. Such incompatibility is described below in the subsection "Interactions with other drugs":
- A number of antiretroviral drugs.
- Antiepileptic drugs.
- Medicines to reduce blood clotting.
- Pharmacological agents belonging to the group of contraceptives.
- And a number of others.
Side effects Life 900.
The dosages recommended in the instructions attached to the medicine, mostly do not cause any negative symptoms. However, due to individual characteristics of the body or when taking higher dosages of Life 900, the patient may experience
side effects of the drug in question.
This could be:
- Dizziness.
- The appearance of short-term or constant pain in the head.
- A feeling of dryness in the oral mucosa.
- Disorders affecting the functioning of the digestive organs.
- If the patient has a history of photosensitivity, taking Life 900 while exposed to direct ultraviolet or visible radiation may cause skin burns.
- Skin allergic reactions may occur: hyperemia, itching, rash.
- The patient may feel a decrease in overall tone and increased fatigue.
- A negative reaction to the drug: the appearance of increased anxiety; in people with bipolar depression, the likelihood of the problem transforming into a manic-depressive state increases.
If even one of the above symptoms appears, you should seek advice and help from your doctor.

Overdose
If the patient neglects the schedule and dosage of the drug prescribed in the treatment protocol, the amount of the chemical compound entering the body may be exceeded. An overdose of the leading active chemical component of Life 900 can also manifest itself due to the individuality of the sensitivity of the patient's body. Pathological symptoms can be expressed in the form of an allergic reaction on the skin. The second manifestation of an overdose can be the appearance of phototoxicity, that is, burn lesions that appear under the influence of the solar radiation spectrum. With such a clinical picture, the drug should be discontinued.
Otherwise, no pathological symptoms were identified when using the drug in question in the treatment protocol.
Interactions with other drugs
After the examination and diagnosis, the doctor signs a treatment protocol. If it is monotherapy, then the attending physician should know as accurately as possible the pharmacodynamic features of the pharmacological group of drugs used in the protocol of stopping the disease.
If Life 900 is prescribed as one of the elements of complex treatment, the specialist must have an idea of the peculiarities of the consequences of the mutual influence of pairs of pharmacological drugs on each other. After all, ignorance of the consequences of the parallel use of various combinations of chemical compounds can provoke the development of irreversible pathological processes in an organism weakened by the disease.
The consequences of interaction with other drugs of the drug in question are determined by the group to which the partner drug belongs.
With the combined administration of Life 900 and coumarin-type anticoagulants (warfarex, marevan, sodium warfarin, warfarin), a decrease in the pharmacodynamic characteristics of both drugs is observed.
During the period of treatment with Life 900, the patient must refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages.
A product based on an extract from a medicinal plant (St. John's wort) enhances the action of those groups of drugs that destroy the enzymatic component of cytochrome P450.
In case of therapeutic relief of the problem together with drugs that increase the sensitivity of the dermis to light rays, photosensitization may develop - the appearance of burn lesions on the skin. These symptoms can persist even after the use of the drug is stopped.
The mutual influence of immunosuppressants (cyclosporine, sirolimus, tacrolimus) and Life 900 is observed to reduce their properties in terms of influence on the patient's body. A similar situation is observed when introducing the drug in question into one treatment protocol together with cytostatics (neurol, azafen, valdoxan, seroquel, trittico, coaxil, midazoline) and protease inhibitors (dilacor, lanicor, dilanacil, lanoxin).
In case of tandem use of Life 900 with medicinal representatives of its group, antidepressants (paxil, plizil, sertraline, rexitin, apo-paroxetine, adepress, actaparoxetine) in some cases the manifestation of symptoms of overdose or side effects (serotonergic effect) is possible.
Storage conditions
The diagnosis has been made, the treatment protocol has been written out, all that remains is to purchase the drug in a pharmacy and begin treatment. But in order for the therapy to bring maximum effect, in addition to following all the doctor's recommendations, it is necessary to know the storage conditions of Life 900. If it is stored incorrectly, the chemical compound in question may lose or significantly reduce its pharmacodynamic characteristics and ability to influence the sick organism. Therefore, before you begin to relieve the problem, you should read the instructions attached to any pharmacological product.
If you follow all the recommendations, you can be sure that the level of pharmacodynamic characteristics of the drug will not decrease and will remain high throughout the entire shelf life of the drug.
The requirements for the contents of Life 900 largely correspond to the set of recommendations that apply to the storage of most medicines:
- The room in which the drug is stored must be protected from exposure to direct ultraviolet and other spectrum of sunlight.
- The storage temperature should not be higher than +25 degrees.
- Life 900 should be kept in places that are inaccessible to teenagers and small children.
