Kaleflon

The Ukrainian pharmacological company LLC FK Zdorovye (Kharkiv) releases a medicinal product on the market with anti-inflammatory and wound-healing characteristics - Kaleflon. Its international name is Caleflonum. The ATC code of the drug in question is designated as A02X.

The crazy rhythm of modern cities, "snacks on the move", "fast", "dry". All this can not but affect our digestive system. Today, gastroenterologists are sounding the alarm. Virtually there is not a single person whose stomach has not been affected to some extent. The medicine Kaleflon is able to come to the aid of doctors in such a situation. To determine the areas of medicine where it is possible to take the drug Kaleflon in question, it is necessary to know the pharmacological characteristics and properties of the active substance of the drug in question.

Indications for the use of the drug Kaleflon are narrowly directed and are used:

1. To heal ulcerative lesions of the stomach and duodenal ulcers.
2. To remove the inflammatory process from the tissues of the digestive tract.
3. With gastritis, which is at the stage of chronic leakage. Exacerbation of the inflammatory process in the mucosa.

Release form

Anti-inflammatory, wound-healing drug today can be found on the shelves of pharmacies in the form of tablets - this is not the only form of release of the drug Kaleflon. You can also find it in the form of a powder.

The unit of production (tablet) has a dosage and concentration of the active active medicinal substance, which is an extract from flowers of calendula officinalis (Calendulae officinalis floridis extract), 100 mg. At the same time the preparation is covered with an easily soluble protective film of brownish yellow with a slight blotchiness. The medicine has a small specific smell.

In the package there are ten units of Kaleflon medicine.

The powder form of the product (500 g) is packed in a container of darkened glass with a volume of two liters.

Pharmacodynamics

The considered drug Kaleflon has as its basis an extract obtained from such plant material as the flowers of a medicinal plant of calendula belonging to the family of astroids.

The composition of the natural plant extract is quite impressive. The most significant of them are:

1. Flavonoids (isoramnetin, astragaline, hyperoside, quercetin, izokvertsetin, glycosides and rutin), which allow relaxing effect on smooth muscles, thereby reducing spasm. Flavonoids show high anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties, effectively monitor the colloidal state of the intercellular substance. Flavonoids improve the conductivity of nerve impulses, participate in the synthesis of cellular collagen. There is no unequivocal opinion, but physicians suggest that these substances are able to arrest the development of tumoral tumors.
2. Carotenoids (vitamin A) normalize the amount of cholesterol in the patient's blood.
3. Essential oils (alpha-cadinol, T-cadinol, fatty acids), another component of the drug, effectively inhibit the development of invading microorganisms, leading to their death.
4. Triterpenoids (glycosides AF, monools, diols, triols and a number of others) provide the preparation Kaleflon with anti-inflammatory characteristics.
5. Water-soluble polysaccharides (arabinogalactans, ramoarabinogalactans and a number of others) normalize the state of the capillary-vascular system, reducing the wall permeability, and have an anti-inflammatory effect.  
6. Coumarins are effective in stopping the process of inflammation.

In addition to the already voiced components of Kaleflon, this medicine is rich in many trace elements: zinc, selenium, magnesium, molybdenum, copper, potassium, calcium, iron and a number of others. They enrich the drug with these properties, adding antiviral, immunostimulating characteristics. The drug effectively strengthens the heart muscle and improves the cardiovascular system, prevents the onset and development of atypical cells, other pathological symptoms.

Kaleflon has choleretic properties. The basic metabolism takes place in the liver, thanks to the enzymes produced by it. Admission of the drug in question increases the secretory and excretory functions of the liver, activates the healing of wounds by producing collagen. 

Pharmacokinetics

In order for the therapy to be as effective as possible, the attending physician who prescribes the protocol of treatment should operate not only with the knowledge of pharmacodynamics, but also with the characteristics of the preparation Kaleflon in terms of the rate of its absorption by the body and removal from it.

But to date, the pharmacokinetics of the Kaleflon drug has not yet been fully investigated. 

Dosing and administration

Any pharmacological agent is assigned to the protocol of treatment of various diseases only by a qualified experienced specialist. This applies to the anti-inflammatory, wound healing preparation Kaleflon considered in this article. The developers of this drug proposed only the recommended method of administration and dose. But our body is individual, therefore, in order to obtain maximum efficiency, the attending physician specifies the schedule of administration and adjusts dosages. Self-administration of the drug is unacceptable.

Kaleflon is best taken in a single dose of 100-200 mg, making three such appointments throughout the day. The recommended time of taking the drug is after the end of the meal.

The duration of the treatment course on average is three to four weeks, in rare cases, therapy can be extended to six weeks (one and a half months).

Quite often Kaleflon is introduced into the protocol of complex treatment. In parallel with it, spasmolytics (stopping smooth muscle smoothing and relieving pain symptoms) and antacids - medicines, allowing to reduce the level of secretion of the stomach, that is, to reduce acidity in this organ, go into it.

Use Kaleflon during pregnancy

The vast majority of the products of pharmaceutical companies are banned for use by women during the period when they carry the baby, or feed them with breast milk after delivery. Due to the prevailing stereotypes, physicians prefer to appoint future mothers alternative methods of relief of the problem, medicines of phytotherapy and homeopathy.

But it is worth remembering that a medicine is a medicine (even cooked on the basis of a plant component) and one can not irresponsibly approach its reception. After using them in treatment, we expect a positive effect and the expected result, but without the supervision of a specialist, one can get the opposite effect, only exacerbating one's condition.  

Therefore, the use of Kaleflon medication during pregnancy is not approved. This fact is also explained by the fact that there are no objective data and numerous studies that would confirm the safety of the drug, both for the health of the mother and her child.

A similar answer today is given to women who feed the newborn with breast milk. If the clinical picture allows, wait until the end of lactation. If time does not suffer, you should start treatment, but weaning the baby, transferring it to artificial feeding.

Contraindications

Whatever medication is considered, it affects the body, seeking its response. The very principle of treatment is based on this. But if the drug (like Caleflon) is taken orally, it is almost impossible to do with local directed influence. Hence the contraindications to the use of Kaleflon's medication, which are not so numerous. It:

1. Increased individual intolerance of the patient's organism to one or several component components of the medicinal plant of the marigold.

With extreme caution, the following is acceptable:

1. A time when a woman is waiting for a child.
2. Lactation period.

Side effects Kaleflon

Due to its pharmacological characteristics and the way it penetrates the human body, Kaleflon, as shown by clinical observations, can cause only minor side effects. Although by virtue of its naturalness, this drug is well tolerated and absorbed by the body of most people.

When used internally, the list of side symptoms is small:

1. There may be a feeling of bitterness in the mouth.
2. Discomfort in the epigastrium: burning, weak pain symptoms.
3. An allergic reaction is possible.

If unpleasant side effects have appeared, depending on the intensity, the preparation of Kaleflon can be canceled, but it should only be done by a specialist.

Overdose

Kaleflon is an innovative drug that appeared on the shelves of pharmacies not so long ago, therefore, there are no negative facts that said that there was an overdose of the drug.

You can advise patients who are taking treatment for this drug, more closely monitor the doses taken and the schedule for medication. If all the recommendations of the treating doctor are met, there is no need to talk about an overdose.

In the case of the emergence of any negative symptoms, this should be reported to your doctor and he decide: to cancel the drug or just to correct the dose.

Interactions with other drugs

If the patient does not have other health problems, and only Kaleflon is taken, you just need to monitor your health. This medicine, made on the basis of natural plant material, is well absorbed by the body and does not show any negative symptoms. If this still happens, you need to inform your doctor about it.

But most often Kaleflon is one of the units of complex treatment, which includes not one drug of different pharmacological groups. Therefore, a specialist who prescribes such treatment must necessarily be guided, which medications can be reduced to one therapeutic protocol, and which in a tandem reception can only aggravate the situation.

You should know the interactions with other drugs and Kaleflona. But to date, unfortunately, there is no such data, since full-scale studies have not been conducted, and clinical monitoring data are insufficient.

Doctors only know that the wound healing and anti-inflammatory drug under consideration works effectively and without consequences with antispasmodics and antacid drugs.

Only there is one "but" when working with antacids. Their input must be time-separated. It is necessary to maintain the interval between the entry of Kaleflon and antacid in the amount of two hours.

Storage conditions

In order for the therapy to provide the maximum positive shift in the relief of the problem, in addition to the implementation of all the recommendations of the attending physician, it is necessary to know and fulfill the storage conditions of Kaleflona. The incorrect content of the drug will significantly reduce or completely render the pharmacological characteristics of the drug completely useless, making it unfit for treatment.

If all the requirements have been met, you can be sure that the effectiveness of the pharmacodynamic parameters of the anti-inflammatory medication in question will remain high enough throughout the allotted expiration period indicated by the manufacturer.

Contain Kaleflon is necessary, fulfilling such storage conditions:

1. Premises where it is supposed to contain the medicine must be protected from direct sunlight.
2. The temperature regime of storage should not exceed the limits from + 15 to + 25 degrees above zero.
3. Contain medication is necessary in places that are not available for adolescents and young children.

Shelf life

Getting on the market of drugs, any product of pharmaceutical companies that produce this drug, goes on sale with a mandatory indication on the packaging material of the date when this medication was produced. The second number is the end date, after which the drug, supplied with this instruction, should not be used as an effective medicine, it is not worth it.

The shelf life of the anti-inflammatory, wound-healing preparation Kaleflon, cooked on a natural basis, is three years (or 36 months).
