Celanide is a herbal remedy for the treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system. Let's consider the instruction to the given preparation and features of its use.
International name: lanatoside C. The agent is part of the pharmacological group of cardiac glycosides. Glycosides of digitalis.
The active substance is a crystalline glycoside digilanide, which is obtained from Digitalis lanata Ehrh. The medication has cardiotonic properties, it does not cumulate and effectively affects the heart. Celanide has a wide therapeutic effect in comparison with other digitalis glycosides. Its effect is similar to the effectiveness of intravenous Strofantin. But our drug better restores the heart rate and lengthens the diastole, while cumulates less Digitoxin.
Indications Celanide
Cardiotonic medication is used only for medical purposes. Let's consider the main indications for the use of Celanide:
- Chronic circulatory failure of I-III degree
- Acute congestive heart failure
- Tachyarrhythmic tachysystolic form of atrial fibrillation
- Paroxysmal tachycardia
- Other disorders of the cardiovascular system
During treatment, constant medical supervision and strict individual dosage selection are required. If the patient has a pulmonary heart, liver, renal or coronary insufficiency, electrolyte imbalance, the doctor selects the lowest effective dose.
With myocardial infarction and angina, the use of the drug is possible only with severe heart failure. But in this case it can lead to myocardial ischemia. For pregnant women with heart failure, patients with bradycardia and kidney pathologies, the drug should be used under strict medical supervision.
Release form
The drug has several forms of release, which makes the treatment process convenient for each patient. Celanide is produced in the form:
- Tablets - each capsule contains 25 mg of active substance Celanide. Tablets of white color, decompose in water for 10 minutes. Each pack contains 30 capsules.
- A solution of 0.05% (drops) contains 500 mg of Celanide, 455.5 ml of ethyl alcohol 95%, 150 g of glycerin and about 1 liter of water for injection. Issue in bottles-droppers for 15 and 10 ml.
- Solution for injection 0.02% - available in ampoules of 1 ml. The composition includes 200 mg of Celanide, 148.7 ml of ethyl alcohol 95%, 150 g of glycerin and water for injection. Each package contains 10 ampoules.
Celanide-kmp
International and chemical name of the drug lanatoside C. Pharmacotherapeutic group Celanide-kmp - cardiac glycosides. The medicine is released in the form of tablets, each capsule contains 25 mg of active ingredient.
- Celanide is prescribed for the treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system. Dosage and the way of application are selected for each patient individually. As a rule, 1-2 tablets 3-4 times a day are enough to achieve a stable therapeutic effect.
- Tablets are contraindicated for use in severe bradycardia, unstable angina, hypersensitivity to pharmaceuticals with digitalis and glycosides. It is not used in case of atrioventricular blockade of II-III stage, hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, Morgan-Adams-Stokes syndrome.
- Medication can cause side effects. In this case, there are symptoms of severe bradycardia, polytopic extrasystole, retardation of atrial-ventricular conduction. Possible decrease in appetite, constipation, diarrhea, anxiety, increased excitement, allergic reactions to the skin, drowsiness.
- Non-compliance with the rules of use causes overdose symptoms. It manifests itself as an increase in side effects. To eliminate adverse symptoms, it is recommended to reduce the dosage or stop taking the medicine. In intoxication, gastric lavage is performed, absorbents are taken and saline laxatives are taken.

Pharmacodynamics
The active component of Celanide is the primary crystalline glycoside, which is obtained from the leaves of the digitalis woolly. Pharmacodynamics means that this substance is stronger than other cardiac glycosides has a cardiotonic effect. Celanide slows the heart rate, increases the contractile activity of the myocardium, reduces venous pressure and increases diuresis.
The drug has a small cumulative effect. The mechanism of action is based on the effect on the potassium-sodium pump of myocardiocytes, the activity of phosphodiesterase and the exchange of calcium ions. Glycoside affects the condition of cyclic adenosine monophosphate, which takes part in the energy supply of the contractile process of myocardial cells.
Pharmacokinetics
After application, the drug is rapidly absorbed into the intestine. Pharmacokinetics indicates that the cardiotonic effect manifests itself 2 hours after application. The maximum therapeutic effect occurs in 4-6 hours. Bioavailability at the level of 15-45%.
Binding to blood plasma proteins 25%. Half-life takes from 28 to 36 hours. The drug is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract at 40%. Metabolized in the liver, a day is about 35%. Glycoside is excreted in urine and feces in unmodified form and in the form of inactive metabolites.
Dosing and administration
The use of a medicine depends on medical recommendations, indications and its form of release. The route of administration and dose of Celanide is individual for each patient. Typically, Celanide is prescribed for oral use in tablets of 25 mg and drops of 0.05% solution. It is also possible intravenous injection of 0.02% solution for injections. To achieve a rapid therapeutic effect, intravenously inject 1-2 ml of a 0.02% solution 1-2 times a day. Tablets are prescribed 1-2 times 2-3 times a day, drops of 10-25 drops of 0.05% solution 3-4 times a day.
After achieving therapeutic effect, the daily dose is reduced. Supporting dosage when taking tablets - 1-2 pcs. Day, with intravenous injection of 2-1 ml of a 0.02% solution intravenously or 10 drops of a 0.05% solution inside. With prolonged maintenance therapy, take ½ tablets 2 times a day.

Use Celanide during pregnancy
Treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system in expectant mothers is complicated by the fact that many drugs are contraindicated. Use of Celanide during pregnancy is possible only with appropriate indications and strict medical supervision. Glycoside foxglove is not recommended for lactation, since the active substance can be excreted in breast milk and affect the development of the child.
Contraindications
Celanide is not used for individual intolerance of plant glycosides of foxglove fox. The main contraindications to the use of the remedy are:
- Acute myocarditis (inflammatory defeat of the heart muscle)
- Disease of internal cardiac cavities
- Thyroid gland diseases
- Severe organic changes in blood vessels and heart
- Severe cardiosclerosis
- Heart rhythm disturbances
The above pathologies are an absolute contraindication to the use of the drug. For treatment, safer drugs are selected.
Side effects Celanide
If the medical recommendations for using the drug are not observed, a number of side effects arise. Celanide can cause such unfavorable symptoms:
- Heart rhythm disturbances
- Extrasystolia
- Change (dissociation) of the heart rate source
If the above effects occur, you need to reduce the dosage of the drug or stop taking it. In the intervals between the use of funds, the patient is prescribed potassium preparations. When nausea and vomiting are shown absorbents, possibly slowing the pulse.

Overdose
Taking high doses and treating for a long period of time causes adverse reactions. Overdosing manifests itself as an increase in the severity of side effects. To eliminate them, it is recommended to reduce the dose / number of doses or stop using the medication.
If the symptoms of overdose are pronounced, then it is recommended to wash the stomach, take absorbents or salt laxatives. Healing properties have oxygen therapy. If an overdose caused a sinus bradycardia, bradyarrhythmia, ventricular arrhythmia or AV-blockade of II-III degree, then the use of lidocaine, phenytoin or an artificial pacemaker is indicated.
Interactions with other drugs
For the treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system, as a rule, several drugs are prescribed. This accelerates the healing process. The interaction of Celanide with other drugs is possible with the appropriate medical clearance. It is the doctor who chooses a set of drugs, focusing on the possibility of their simultaneous use and individual characteristics of the patient's body.
- Calcium preparations increase the risk of glycoside intoxication, and potassium - reduces the toxic effect.
- Lithium preparations, psychotropic and sympathomimetics increase the risk of arrhythmia.
- Corticosteroids and thiazide diuretics cause disturbances in electrolyte metabolism and increase the toxicity of Celanide.
- Phenobarbital reduces the effect of Celanide because of the acceleration of metabolism and induction of liver enzymes.
- The use of saluretics enhances side effects, and potassium-sparing agents - reduce.
- Antacids reduce the absorption of the drug in the gastrointestinal tract when administered orally.
- Aminazine increases blood clotting and weakens the action of glycoside.
- Quinidine, Amiodarone, Verapamil increase the concentration of the drug in the blood plasma.
- Lincomycin increases the risk of developing pseudomembranous colitis.
Storage conditions
To preserve the medicinal properties of the medicament, it is necessary to observe the conditions of its storage. All forms of cardiac glycoside release should be stored in the original packaging, in a dry place, protected from moisture, sunlight and inaccessible to children. Storage temperature should be between 15 ° C and 25 ° C.
