Ibuprex Soft belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drugs of the propionic acid derivative group.

Indications Ibuprex Soft

Ibuprex Soft is used as an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic agent for the symptomatic treatment of headaches, toothaches, pain during menstruation, joint and muscle pain, neuralgia, and also to relieve signs of fever - elevated body temperature and chills.

Release form

The drug is available in soft capsules of 200 mg, 12 and 24 capsules per package.

Pharmacodynamics

The active substance of the drug Ibuprex Soft isobutylphenylpropionic acid blocks the enzyme cyclooxygenase, resulting in a decrease in the intensity of production of lipid mediators prostaglandins, which are present in almost all tissues and organs and are conductors of pain, inflammatory and temperature reactions of the body.

Pharmacokinetics

After oral administration, Ibuprex Soft is absorbed from the digestive tract within a short period of time. Its maximum concentration in the blood plasma is reached 1-2 hours after administration, and in the synovial fluid after 3 hours. The drug is transformed in the liver, and the metabolic products are evacuated from the body with urine.

Dosing and administration

Ibuprex Soft is prescribed to adults and children over 12 years old, 1-2 capsules every 4-6 hours. The capsules should be taken orally whole - during meals, with water. The maximum daily dose is 6 capsules.

Use Ibuprex Soft during pregnancy

The use of Ibuprex Soft during pregnancy - up to six months - is contraindicated, since the use of prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors can negatively affect pregnant women or the development of the embryo: the risk of termination of pregnancy and the development of heart defects in the fetus increases.

In the third trimester of pregnancy, Ibuprex Soft may cause premature closure of the ductus arteriosus in the fetus with a high probability of developing stable pulmonary hypertension; the onset of labor may be delayed and the duration of labor increased with the risk of bleeding.

Contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Ibuprex Soft are: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; allergy to acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin); gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute stage; history of bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal tract associated with taking NSAIDs; acute heart, kidney or liver failure; children under 12 years of age.

Side effects Ibuprex Soft

Side effects of Ibuprex Soft include: headache, nausea, abdominal pain, itchy skin rashes, increased heart rate, decreased blood pressure.

In patients with allergies and bronchial asthma, Ibuprex Soft can cause bronchospasm, and with high blood pressure - swelling of soft tissues. Long-term use of the drug, as well as exceeding the therapeutically justified dosage, increases the risk of arterial thrombosis in the form of myocardial infarction or stroke.

Overdose

Overdose of the drug is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, headache and abdominal pain, drowsiness, nystagmus, visual impairment, tinnitus, renal failure, convulsions, and a sharp decrease in blood pressure.

To relieve overdose symptoms, gastric lavage and activated charcoal are necessary. In case of frequent or prolonged convulsions, intravenous administration of diazepam or lorazepam is indicated.

Interactions with other drugs

It is not allowed to use Ibuprex Soft simultaneously with acetylsalicylic acid and drugs from the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Ibuprex Soft reduces the therapeutic effect of diuretics and hypotensive drugs. In case of taking along with antiplatelet and selective serotonin inhibitors, as well as with corticosteroids - the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding increases.

By interacting with cardiac glycosides, Ibuprex Soft neutralizes their therapeutic effect. In addition, Ibuprex Soft increases the side effects of cyclosporine and some antibiotics.

The shelf life of the drug is 24 months.
