Givalex is a member of the antiseptic group. Its medicinal activity is associated with the action of 3 active elements.

Hexetidine has antibacterial activity against various gram-negative and -positive bacterial strains (anaerobes and aerobes). [ 1 ]

Choline salicylate is used for the treatment of diseases in the oral cavity.

Chlorobutanol can be used in otolaryngology (rinses or nasal drops) and dentistry (irrigations or applications). It can also be used as an anesthetic.

The active ingredients are fixed on the oral mucosa, from which they are then gradually released.

Indications Givalex

It is used for local treatment of oral infections (gingivitis, stomatitis ), as well as after dental surgery.

Release form

The medicine is released in the form of a 125 ml bottle (the kit also includes a 50 ml dosing cup).

Pharmacodynamics

Antifungal and antibacterial effects. [ 2 ]

Hexetidine has a bacteriostatic effect on aerobic strains; the bactericidal effect is quite weak (it is expressed in relation to anaerobes). The principle of action is associated with competitive activity with thiamine: its structure is similar to the thiamine structure required for bacterial growth. [ 3 ]

Anti-inflammatory effect.

Choline salicylate has antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.

Analgesic effect.

Chlorobutanol has an analgesic effect.

Dosing and administration

Use for local treatment of the mouth (rinsing). To perform one procedure of rinsing the mouth, you need to pour the medicinal liquid into a dosing cup to the level of 10 ml, and then add warm water to it (to the level of 50 ml). You can also dilute 2 teaspoons of Givalex in warm plain water (¼ cup).

2-4 rinses are performed per day. It is forbidden to swallow the medicinal substance. The therapeutic cycle lasts 5 days.

  • Application for children
